wow, I keep plenty of foods longer than that. I have some butter in reserve that's probably way over a month old.
PLus, I have some dried pasta and beans that have to be maybe 2 years old and its still fine...
but I do take a black marker and put the date on all canned goods I buy, so I can keep them circulating FIFO style.
