Antiochus Epiphanes

Had a problem with chipmunks eating roots of an ornamental pine we had in a little planter. I killed two with a trap and then the rest learned to leave it alone and kept on raiding the planter. We eventually got rid of them last Halloween with a motion detector scaryface thing that made Oooga Boooga sounds whenever someone came to the door.
Winter came and went and 'THEYRE HEEEEERE" again. I lost my trap over the winter somehow. So I bought some big mousetraps. They sprung them all without getting caught, somehow. Got out one of those ultrasonic deals and that keeps them away from the nearest but not the other.
I ran out of some old fox piss crystals that worked for a while. Cant keep doing that, too expensive. What to do?
