I saw a documentary last night on one mark kerr. he was a college wrestler who was active from 98-2000 in the mixed martial arts thing. big fucking dude, from toledo ohio, huge lats and delts, but racially kind of looked like he wouldnt have passed the "one drop" rule-- a bit of melungeon or some other taint. anyhow, he was successful in this "Pride" series comparable to UFC they had in Japan, till this little Russian dude pounded him silly. Then he sunk into a binge of narcotics use, and then tried to come back in 2000 with training from bas rutten, unsuccessfully, and mark coleman won that series. which looked like it had royce gracie in it. couldnt tell bout that.
anyways, has anybody seen this documentary? any thoughts or comments?

I've seen it and it was really depressing. The guy was completely ruined by all the pills, not to mention the craziness going on with his girlfriend. It was like a public service spot on lost potential.
All in all it was pretty good, shows how easily you can fuck yourself up.

the dude was mainlining narcotics! one has to be pretty fucked to do that. never in all my worst moments of teenage substance abuse did I ever ever ever EVER want to stick a fucking needle in my body. how that can be so easily accepted by "athletes" incluind college football players for example has always amazed me.
kerr looked like a fucking junky. that's the bottom line of this documentary and it rang true. ONCE A JUNKY ALWAYS A JUNKY. hell, the martial arts was entirely parenthetical.

I forgot about the mainlining, I saw the doc a long time ago. I seem to remember a part where he was describing the amount of shit he was taking on a daily basis. Enough to kill a horse..........
Yeah. he definitely looked the part of a junky, with those cold, dead eyes. Fucking pathetic. He had his ass handed to him (who was it, Tarkatov?) and he was never able to pick up the plot. He was once a champion, now the only thing he can look forward to is liver failure......

not taktarov. some other guy, cant recall his name, who has not been in the UFC at all. looked like a typical russian sambo guy. lilly white, short blonde hair, short and stocky, reasonable amount of body fat unlike the ripped Americans. Personality, not flashy or arrogant, seemingly kind demeanor. and then watch out. fucking guy could take the punishment and dish it out. they can wrestle and they can punch. but the punching only consisted of the really hard straight right which is only thrown when it's going to land... I guess that covers about 90% of what one really needs to do in punching, eh? LOL though I've always like a straight left when I dont want to go down to the ground...
the mainlining was gross. junkies are disgusting and worthless.
