"The BBC's new chairman, Michael Grade, has passed his first test - an interview with the Jewish Chronicle. Mr Grade, a member of the St John's Wood Liberal Synagogue and vice-president of the International Forum for Yiddish Culture, 'pledged to ensure that complaints about anti-Israel bias receive a fair hearing.' The paper points out that he's a regular supporter of charities such as the Jewish Association for the Mentally Ill but some members of the faith are furious over reports by the BBC's Middle East Correspondent, Orla Guerin, which are taken to be pro-Palestinian. Mr Grade says he doesn't have a view on the BBC's Middle East reporting 'and it's not my place to have an opinion'. From Pornograher in Chief (Channel 4) to wise BBC chairman: It's a dawdle for Mr Grade."
