For Phil Sheridan, the only good Indian was a dead Indian. For the post-modern media, the only good Caucasian is a queer Caucasian.
And while it may not be common for regiments of lesbians to go about waylaying hapless breeders, homosexuals are only too happy to engage in cultural assaults upon the majority nation. During Advent of 2002, in the city of Somerville, which borders Boston on the northwest, Jewish lesbians staged a blasphemous play called Jesus Has Two Mommies. I joined a group of Catholics who protested the production, and as we stood across the street from the Somerville Theater, singing Christmas carols and praying the rosary, an effeminate and ironic fellow with a bullhorn exhorted theater patrons to "Get this hatred out of Somerville." Two crop-headed women, whom I first mistook for boys, tried to crash our group while holding a rainbow flag, but were turned back by police. There were the predictable cries of, "Teach your children tolerance," and more invitations to leave Somerville.
At Advent 2003, the playwright was showcasing some bit of generic filth at the theater, a work that celebrated perversion without denigrating any specific belief. And so perhaps our prayers of the previous year bore fruit. But what I found particularly offensive about this "Get out of town" message that we received during our vigil was that I grew up in Somerville and used to go to 50-cent kiddie matinees at the Somerville Theater.
The city was overwhelmingly Catholic when I was being raised. (I graduated high school in 1974.) And it is precisely the tolerant attitude of contemporary Catholics that has allowed the program of queer colonization and subversion to thrive in formerly Catholic cities. It is unlikely that anyone would bring Jesus Has Two Mommies to the Bible Belt. It is unthinkable that anyone would produce a work called 'Matthew Shepard Asked For It" or "Mohammad Liked 'Em Young."
The members of the brainwashing professions have done their job well. They have chanted, "gay and lesbian" so loudly and often that sodomites and sapphires are now perceived not as sinners in need of repentance but as authentic ethnic groups with a similar sphere of interest, such as Polish and Lithuanian stevedores in South Boston, or Portugese and Sicilian fishermen in Gloucester. (Our two newly discovered tribes are both less than fully accepting of "transgenders," however, their attitudes are akin to those of assimilated and shtetl Jews who once disdained gypsies in old Europe for having a little too much otherness. One is also reminded of corny, comedy-horror movies in which vampires and werewolves look down upon Frankenstein's monster for being synthetically hideous.) Years from now, when today's turkey-baster baby is asked about his ancestry, will he say that he is gay on his father's side and lesbian on his mother's? god help us.
