Tell her to get Firefox.

There are a lot of problems with IE 7, especially when coupled with Vista. I concur with psychologicalshock, get Firefox, I have never had any problems with it, and I don't know of anyone who has.

I use IE7 for everything. At home, I use a combination of Vista and XP machines.
I'd suggest checking the popup blocker and anti-phishing settings in IE7. Also, check other software you might have running such as anti-spyware/adware and see if they might be blocking something.
Additionally, check your Windows Firewall settings.
To be completely honest, I have used IE7 since its beta, and I haven't been able to find a site that it won't work on in months. (Unless the site is specifically engineered by the pot-smoking Linux and Firefox hippies to not work with IE7/Windows.)

Is she accessing the internet through her sister's computer via network?
If so, that might be the problem. A similar thing happened to me a few years ago. I was unable to visit basically any webpage that required me to login (e-mail, forums, etc.)
Problem is I really don't remember how I fixed it... I would suggest disabling and deleting any network connections on both computers (except the connection to internet) and re-running the network setup wizard - making sure to share the internet connection.
Hope this helps.

I would check for spyware before doing anything else.
