My hometown Richmond Braves are set to leave for Gwinnett county, GA in 2009, which means the upcoming season will be their last in Richmond. Richmond has been the AAA farm team of the major league Atlanta Braves for 42 years. Personally, I cannot wait for them to leave becase I cannot stand the Atlanta organization mainly because of Ted Turner.

Atlanta has wanted a new stadium for their AAA Braves for several years. The Diamond is considered inadequate for a AAA farm team. Our quadroon mayor, Doug Wilder, has been instrumental in driving the Braves out with his tendency to blame everyone else for his mistakes. He even accused the Atlanta organization for negotiating with Gwinnett County for a new stadium for two years, but in reality the negotiations went on for only four months, and that only after Atlanta lost patience with Richmond. Richmond is run mainly by niggers, so who can blame any team for leaving this shitty city?

Richmond will almost certainly not get another AAA team to replace the Braves. Most people are furious about the Braves leaving, but in reality Richmond's fan base numbers have not supported anything more than a mid-level minor league team in any sport for decades. Richmond had an AHL (equivalent to an AAA baseball team) team, the Robins. They folded and we got a AA hockey team. They folded and now we have an A hockey team. We may end up with an A baseball team as well, although several AA teams have expressed interest in coming to Richmond. I have predicted for years that the Braves would eventually leave Richmond, I just did not think it would be this soon. I am pleased by this turn of events, though, and I am more pleased by the discord that has come about as a result.
