One thing I hate about Internet Explorer is how when you right click to save an image a photo in jpg format will show upp in bitmap. This disgusts me. Please tell me how to get rid of this filth.

On your Internet Explorer browser, click 'Tools'.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Internet Options...'

The immediate tab should be 'General', with three panels in it. The second panel down is headed 'Temporary Internet Files'. There are three buttons in a row; the central one is titled 'Delete Files'.

Pressing that button should solve your problem. If I understand correctly, what has happened is your computer has so many 'temporary' image files in storage for quick retrieval that it can't provide a selection of image file-types for you to save a new image as, and must revert to 'bitmap' for all new images. Clearing the accumulated image-files fixes this problem for me.

I have a German version which gives me the option of either storing it as a bitmap or jpeg or gif etc...

Clear cache and temp internet files. Problem solved.
