Has anyone here used Tiny URL. If it works, it seems to be a good way to post pictures into a forum.

http://tinyurl.com/

As a test, I shall post a picture of myself. I doubt it will give much away. It is a picture of me in 1968 on an airplane flying back from boot camp in San Diego (US Navy). From the perspective of the viewer, I am the young fellow, standing up in the back, one to the left (our left) of the sailor with glasses. I am smiling, lots of teeth.

I have no idea if this will work.

I've used it, but only when I want to post a link in a forum where posting a long link would mess up the page formatting. I never thought to use it for photos, but doesn't it require that you already have the photo posted on a picture-hosting site? So I'm not sure I see the advantage between posting a tiny URL for the pic or the pic's URL itself, anonymity perhaps?

I've used it for a day or so now, and you are correct. It only provides a way to post a picture without letting anyone discern the web site of the picture. I guess that could be of use, though I'm not sure how.

I would like to store photos on the web. looking at image addresses, I've noticed that VNN forum posters use several different sites for this. Any opinions on the best site? (free, if possible)

Using firefox if you right click on the picture then left click on view image and backspace the url you can see your entire photo album.
