Anti-virus software suggestions

I'm going to be needing a new anti-virus installed soon. What would you suggest? I've heard that there are good programs that can be downloaded free from the www.

So - any suggestions?

I dont know how Kosher it is, but I hear kapersky is very good as well. A very small package that does not eat up huge parts of your system to do it job.

Any thoughts on this program? I know a tech or 2 who swear by it.

I sugest this antivirus program...Avira.
It's FREE and it's good.(probably is best choice of free antivirus programs.
AVG is good for people without experiance but level of security is't to high.
Tray Avira, and + install Spybot. You can download here:

this combination(avira+spybot)can give you good resistence level.
Just this Spybot you must run one or two time in week because free solution is't ,,automatic,,.No to mutch work..just run and scan(it's good for spyware, adware, hijackers and other malicious software)
Also wil be good if you want install some firewall..for example ZoneAlarm.

If you install this 3 programs your PC will have solid protection.
When you play some harder games...maybe sometime one of this 2 programs can slow down your game(antivirus or firewall), but you can make some experiment and tray to disable one ,then another ,or both...you will find witch one make your game slow:)
