Government moves to dismiss AIPAC case
May 1, 2009

WASHINGTON (JTA) -- Prosecutors asked a judge to drop charges against two ex-AIPAC staffers accused of passing along classified information.

In a statement Friday, the acting U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia said restrictions on the government's case imposed by Judge T.S. Ellis III made conviction unlikely.

"Given the diminished likelihood the government will prevail at trial under the additional intent requirements imposed by the court and the inevitable disclosure of classified information that would occur at any trial in this matter, we have asked the court to dismiss the indictment," Dana Boente said.

The motion all but guarantees a dismissal.

"Intent requirements" refers to an earlier Ellis ruling that the government must prove that Keith Weissman, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's former Iran analyst, and Steve Rosen, its former foreign policy chief, intended not only to assist Israel but to harm the United States.

Weissman and Rosen were charged under a rarely used section of the 1917 Espionage Act that makes it a crime for civilians to receive and distribute closely held defense information. Both men were later dismissed by AIPAC, with the organization claiming the two had violated its rules; Rosen, in turn has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against AIPAC.

Reached by phone, Rosen told JTA he was "ecstatic" and was "still absorbing a life-changing moment." He had been on the phone Friday morning non-stop with family and friends.

"There was a great injustice here, but thank God we live in a country where the courts can correct this kind of injustice," he said.

For the immediate future, he said, he would focus on a book he was writing on government leaks.

Baruch Weiss, Weissman's lawyer, told JTA that the decision was a "great victory for the First Amendment and for the pro-Israel community."

Anything the defendants did "was to the benefit of Israel and the United States," he said.

The dropping of the case comes just days before the start Sunday of AIPAC's annual policy conference in Washington.

Corruption continues among the jews. AIPAC (jews) have been spying on the U.S. for decades, including wiretapping, and have infiltrated NSA for many years. This is how they knew the whereabouts of USS Cole and USS Liberty and to this day are making the massacre look like Arabs/Iraq committed the crimes.

Anything to promote wars, the jews know no boundaries. The 9/11 massacre is another example.

U.S. to Drop Spy Case Against Pro-Israel Lobbyists

WASHINGTON – The Obama Justice Department moved Friday to drop all charges against two former pro-Israel lobbyists who had been charged under the Espionage Act with improperly disseminating sensitive information.

The move by the government came in a motion filed with the federal court in Alexandria, Va. which was to be the site of the trial that was scheduled to begin June 2.

The prosecution’s case against Steven J. Rosen and Keith Weissman suffered several setbacks in rulings from the trial judge. At the same time, the case was fraught with deep political dimensions, as it raised delicate issue of behind-the-scenes lobbying over Middle East policy and the role played by American Jewish supporters of Israel.

Mr. Rosen and Mr. Weissman, who were lobbyists with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a leading pro-Israel lobby, were charged with violating the World War I-era Espionage Act...

So do you think if I spied for, oh, let's say Iran, I'd be given equal benefit of the doubt for innocently seeking to help both countries?

Piss on this jew-fucked whore of a government.....

What surprises me is not the outcome but why they even pushed with the 'charges' in the first place? What a complete and utter farce, of course the joke is on the white tax payer and now these jews will need to be heavily compensated for 'lost income, damaged reputation and poisonal suffering'.T.J.B.

This notion of Jews 'spying' on the US is ridiculous for how do they spy on themselves? Jews completely own the US so there is no need for 'spying'. This is just thrown out there to create the illusion that America is still an independent country.

The reason they were charged is so 20 years from now "The Jews" can spin it like the Dreyfus case: "The men lost their jobs and were shunned by many in their community. They were completely exonerated of all charges. It was a horrible case of anti-semitism."
