My CD/DVD quit. Needs a regedit. Anyone know the targets in regedit?

I would start off using a simple and reliable automated tool like Advanced system care.
It can repair registry errors.
I have had similar issues in the past and have learned that one of the best ways to fix it is to just re install it.
Right click "my computer" > manage > Devise manager > dvd/cd rom> right click your devise> uninstall
either download the latest software for your drive from the manufacture, use cd or let windows install it. Your call.
Just one question though, how do you know its a registry problem and not dead hardware?

nobody knows how the stupid fucking registry works, none of the programmers do, that's why they leave behind all these goddamn errors when you try and uninstall them, which then turns your entire stupid computer into a big paper weight.
the dummies have tried to make the registry so complex nobody can figure it out, only when someone does, nobody can fix it, so it's just this spiraling stupid race to see how incomprehensable they can make the system to foil hackers, but it just makes it impossible to fix when something goes wrong, or some hacker is manipulating it.
