Far Right Protest Weekend: Dover 28/29th May

Kent Police is preparing itself for trouble in Dover ahead of planned demonstrations in the port town next weekend.

It comes just weeks after another demonstration in Dover, during which a dozen people were arrested after scenes turned ugly following protests from a right-wing group and anti-fascist opposition.

Local MP Charlie Elphicke was widely criticised at the time for tweeting: “Militant hard left occupying port road at Dover. Unwelcome, damaging to our nation’s economy and the town. Go away.”

He then followed it up by saying: “Fascists now matching (sic) to port. Equally unwelcome, damaging to our nation’s economy & the town as the anti-fascists.”

The exact timings and locations of these demonstrations remain unconfirmed by organisers but officers are planning a “proportionate response” that will allow the force to meet its legal obligation to facilitate peaceful protest.

At least 100 right-wing demonstrators are currently expected to attend on Saturday May 28, while an unconfirmed number of left-wing counter-demonstrators are intent on visiting at the same time.

Groups cannot be prevented from entering the town of Dover or protesting so long as the demonstration - believed to be an anti-immigration march - is peaceful and legitimate.

As part of the policing response, there will be additional units including mounted police officers.

Deputy Chief Constable Paul Brandon said: “We are in contact with the organisers of the demonstrations so we can put together an appropriate and proportionate response to facilitate peaceful protest.

“We are aware the organisers have planned a concert on the Saturday evening and a second event on the Sunday evening.

“We are waiting to be told exactly when and where these will be taking place.

“However, there will be disruption in Dover over the weekend as a result, which, even with all the best plans in place, cannot be avoided.

“The weekend is a Bank Holiday which historically sees increased tourist traffic for the Port of Dover and we know there are other local events planned.

“Our advice to those visiting the town for the weekend is to plan ahead, regardless of the purpose of your visit.

“We believe that if people are warned in advance about potential disruption, they can make arrangements to avoid getting caught up in the demonstrations and go about their business.

“As and when we have more information, we will make it available on our website, through the media and on social media.”

Police officers’ actions in response to another protest back in January were described as ‘proportionate’, ‘justifiable’ and ‘appropriate’, according to an independent report.

Too true mate. Paul Pitt and his grandstanding chav losers causing mayhem on the streets of Dover, further demonizing the British nationalist cause. One would have thought the authorities would be able to ban such a march with the stated aim of mass arson.That they have not suggests that the system is quite happy for the chav scum street cunt gangsters to pose as brexit campaigners and further besmirch the reputation of British nationalism if that is possible.

From the same paper I doubt he is a registered voter.Nonetheless a local/yokel who caught between the two sets of bogus cunts threw missiles at both sets of bogus scum.He has previous so he drew twenty months a pity as he seems like the only yobbo who made a sensible decision when confronted by the scum on his doorstep. Now both side of social misfit scum are threatening him with violence. Presumably the cunt bubble leader of the "far right" scum would iron him out while the other chavs hold him down.
