WASHINGTON— At least four people have been arrested Saturday afternoon in conjunction with a neo-Nazi march in Washington.

Members of the National Socialist Movement gathered just before noon today at the National Mall.

The group held Saturday's rally to protest immigration policies in the U.S.

Police say almost 200 members of NSM participated in the rally. As they marched down Constitution Avenue Saturday, members shouted, "USA, USA, USA."

Hundreds of police officers in riot gear lined Constitution Avenue. However, several skirmishes and other altercations broke out between NSM and immigration supporters.

One immigration supporter reportedly used pepper spray on a marcher Saturday.

In addition, some spectators booed the neo-Nazi group as they made their way towards the U.S. Capitol.

The Anti-Defamation League says NSM is the largest neo-Nazi group in the country.

Uh, before we go patting the NSM on the back let's wait until all the press coverage has come in and the NSM has released photos and video. I am here in the DC Metro area and the various brief press accounts are conflicting.

For starters, the NSM rally started 3 hours late! Of course, it's been a joke for many decades that movement events never start on time. But 3 hours? I'm sorry but that is pathetic! If you announce a 12:00 rally, you get there way ahead of time and START at 12:00. The shirt-and-tie crowd like to harp about the uniforms, but a complete lack of professionalism is even more harmful to the cause.

The estimated numbers of NSM and Antifas are all over the map. The estimates for NSM vary from 15 (obviously BS since at least 20-30 NSM were shown on the 2 second video clip I just saw on the local news) to 200+ while the estimates for Antifas ranges from 20+ to 200+. From the live news coverage its clear that some print media are counting all spectators as Antis, despite the fact that they are clearly just curious onlookers. Four Antis were arrested for supposedly attacking a cop.

The live news coverage was fairly brief: NSM shows up 3 hours late, disembarks bus quietly, marches to the Capitol, and...... well that's all they've reported. No statement about any speeches occurring. Perhaps none did because of the very late start.

I've attended a number of NSM rallies around the country, but sat this one out for a variety of good reasons despite the fact that it was occuring about 2 miles from my home.

I also will note that I am seeing reports of this event that are all over the map:

NSM numbers from 20 to 200; anti-racists from 150 on up. I have seen no Associated Press coverage.

I think the police are reporting 200 people total on both sides and this is being misreported by some media, but that is unclear because of the conflicts.

Also, Lansing brought out about 150 white activists; Yorktown brought out oer 200; this is not the largest anything in years.

Plus, NSM has about no members. I would want to know what group could provide "200" people at their event.

Local TV news just reported a few more details. Five Antis in total arrested on the day (several when they tried to pepper spray some NSM supporters and got cops instead). Instead of starting off at the Washington Monument, the NSM showed up part way down Consitution Ave towards the Capitol. They disembarked, marched to the Capitol and held a 30 minute (!) rally.

As many as 200 counter-protesters gathered nearby, heckling them.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, the group is the largest neo-Nazi group in the United States. It's own Web site says the group's aim is to protect the rights of white people and to preserve white culture and heritage.

There were reports of some people being pepper-sprayed and arrests.

These so called "nazi" groups do nothing more than draw the attention needed to bring in funding for SPLC, ADL, and other zionist organizations. These rallies may bring a few other morons out of the wood work and cause them to join one of these psuedo-nazi wannabe organizations but they are not of any significant benefit to our people our our positions on the issues.

Most of these "nazi" groups are packed full of some of the most unfit representatives of our people that you will find.

Any organization that makes a conscious decision to allow sloppy, unintelligent, misguided men to address the sheeple in public while wearing a symbol that the sheep have been programmed to tune out, is in my opinion an enemy of our struggle and should be handled accordingly.

Respect our struggle by knowing when to keep your mouth shut. Allowing only well spoken to address the sheeple will help our struggle....

Although letting morons shout "white power" while wearing uniforms based on WW2 era German military uniforms may appeal to the lowest common denominator of our people, it will not not advance our cause.

Facts are facts, though. The NSM peaked in 2005 and has been in scandal freefall ever since. Let's wait until all the facts are in before we congratulate them on yet another "victory". Until white lemmings start to wake up, all such victories are illusory.

From what I am hearing, Schoep and company got lost, popped up three blocks from where they were supposed to be, and when the antis attacked, the accidentally attacked some undercover officers who infiltrated Schoep's demonstration, leading to felony chages against four of them.
