Chris Matthews, that Rachel dyke, and Keith Olbermann were already whining yesterday on MSNBC after Obama's inaguration speech saying it was too "hawkish" in parts. They were saying he has a duty to deliver on the promises that got him elected. Only at the very end did the Times mention the pressure from "the Israelis" that had persuaded Holder not to oppose the pardon -- as he told Beth Nolan, then the White House counsel.

Rich, the commodities broker who fled to Switzerland in 1983 to avoid charges in his own financial scandal, was pardoned in 2001 in a highly questioned move by then outgoing president Bill Clinton.
