I had a friend from the southwest who said those whip-tailed scorpions can run as fast as a man.
He said they're harmless, but kinda creepy.
Up here we have "jerusalem crickets" (aka potato bugs).
While they don't actually eat potato crops, and are not even listed by the USDA as a pest, it's still pretty alarming to see one of these 3 inch critters walking across your bathroom floor at 3AM.
Oh yeah, you can actually hear them walking... no shit.
