No present-day living black American has ever been a slave. No present-day white American has ever been a slave owner. We are not responsible for anything done by someone else in the distant past.
How would reparations be administered? Is the government going to place a tax only on white people? Are they going to mail checks only to blacks? What could be more racist?
Will blacks be required to prove their particular ancestors were slaves? Blacks who lived in the northern states were not slaves. There were many free blacks in the South. Blacks who came to America after 1870 have never been slaves here. Many blacks are not all black. Many have white blood in them.
What are they receiving reparations for? Work? They received room and board, free medical, and Sundays off while working on a farm. We all have to work. Do blacks think they should not have to work? After the War, blacks received reparations from the Freedmans Bureaus and many other government agencies. Many DID receive 40 acres and a mule.
Maybe they just want the mule. They don't have to wear condoms with a mule.
