The use of the phrase "excessive maritime claims" may be America's strongest words to date on this issue. America typically states that America is "neutral" on the issue.
And to have China allow an America navy ship dock in Hong Kong and then for that ship to sail into the the disputed area is rather aggressive.
Was this a bitch slap to China's leadership just a week before the chinks have their every 5 year National Congress?
