BELGRADE, Serbia-A Montenegrin court says a group of ethnic Albanians are guilty of plotting a rebellion and a coup in the Balkan country. Four U.S. citizens are among those convicted.
Judge Ivica Stankovic has issued prison sentences ranging from 3 months to 6.6 years.
He says 12 defendants are guilty of "conspiring against the constitution and planning acts against the security of Montenegro."
They include four U.S. citizens identified as Sokol Ivanaj, cousins Kola and Rrok Dedvukaj and mastermind Doda Ljucaj. All four are from Michigan.
The judge says in his ruling Tuesday that five others are guilty of illegal weapons possession. The court is located in the Montenegrin capital, Podgorica.
