Usually, it's the 2nd child whose more bold. This is because they have a sibling who was already there.
My son is less independant than his older sister. Because, my daughter had no choice but to spend the 1st 4 years as an only child.
I have physical contact to my son, when we play fight or when I do some acrobatic stunts at his risk. But, have never hit him in anger. I have damaged objects, instead and have punched a few holes into doors, out of frustration which didn't have 100% to do with the children. Their mother wasn't always there, when I felt she was supposed to be. Therefore, I actually spent a considerable time as a single parent. I could explain in detail later.
Daughters seem to have a different mind-set. They won't engage willfully in such physical activity as boys do
