Russia, South Africa to carry out space, nuclear co-op
MOSCOW, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- A senior Russian official said hereon Monday his country will carry out cooperation with South Africain space research and nuclear energy sectors.
Russian Minister of Natural Resources Yuri Trutnev and South African Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma are set to hold talks on such cooperation this week in Moscow, RIA news agency reported.
The meeting, slated Feb. 12-13, will also discuss schedule of the seventh session of the Russian-South African Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation in May, Russian officials said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a visit to South Africa in 2006 and the two countries pledged to enhance cooperation in such fields as investment, banking, mining and energy, transport, science and public health.
