Default Convictions for preparing jihad journey Syria

Two men who had plans to travel to participate in the jihad, part off to Syria have been convicted of preparing a terrorist offense. The 22-year-old Omar H. was sentenced to one year in prison, four months probation. The 24-year-old Mohammed G. to one year in a psychiatric institution.

G. was declared insane by the court. He suffers from psychological problems. He said he had listened to voices in his head.

The Rotterdam court considers it proven that the two apart from each other had plans to travel to fight in jihad in Syria and is punishable. It is treated by the court in preparing a co-perpetrator of murder. It is the first time that Syriėgangers convicted.
