I first heard 'Das Panzerlied' when I was 10 years old watching Battle of The Bulge. I thought it was a cool song even though I didn't understand a word of German at the time. But they only sang the first verse in the movie. "Sing, Konrad--louder!"

'Das Panzerlied' translates as 'the tank song'.
There were a lot of tank battles during WW2. . .
The German and Russian ones were the most modern ones , for sure . . .
Just that the motivation made the difference.
German tanks rolled for National Socialism , Soviet tanks supposedly rolled for the "world revolution" ( which really meant takeover by the Bolsheviks btw . .
) . .
The German Panzerlied translates as . .
"Whether it storms or snows , whether the sun is laughing down on us . .
Whether the day is glowing hot or the night cold as ice . .
Dusty are the faces yet our sense is happy . .
Our tank is rolling with the storm wind . ."
