Fish and seafood. Stink. Hate walking by that section in the grocery store. Tuna is okay - not really tasty but I have eaten it since a child.

Mayonnaise in the jar has had a funny stale oil taste for many years. The fat free (if you can find it) or the olive oil mayonnaise from Kraft is okay.

Lemon on meat - not good. Lime is good.

Wouldn't eat any weird stuff like brains, liver, frog's legs etc.

Pig's feet came into the markets in my neighborhood when blacks started replacing the whites, with a lot of other weird animal parts.

Worst food I ever ate, or let's say tasted - chitlins, tasted like some kind of poop. BARF, HELP, POLICE! Second worst, pork rinds out of bag. BLEEEECCCHHH!

The most unusual thing I ever ate was raw Parrot fish brains. I was caught up in a spearfishing moment I guess. Time and again the fish out smarted me until I finally railed its ass with a peice of steel.
That's the punishment for out smarting me,...I'll eat yer fuckin brains!

*How was that statement for internet posing? Not too shabby eh? The brains though, ...I won't do that again.

My maternal grandmother used to eat "scrambled brains and eggs".
This was scrambled calfs brains and eggs stirred and cooked in the same skillet.

They're delicious: like a very slightly fishy, juicier, more flavorful chicken.

I've had beef brains in a taco before. Very fatty with a mealy texture. Beef tongue is good, though.

I simply can't eat low quality or processed foods.

High quality and high freshness? Anything goes except certain primitive or Asiatic specialties.

I've had French culinary training so I'm a little picky on treatment, as well.

I go to a local Italian restaurant that does Quinto Quarto (fifth quarter, colloquial for variety meats) menus once in a while. These are six course meals using offal in every dish: artichoke and pig heart crostini; rigatoni with tripe and eggplant; crispy snout, pig face, beets and celeriac salad; calf brain ice cream; chocolate blood pudding.

Mostly to tittilate yuppies, some of the stuff is quite good washed down with a hot Barbaresco.

Eeel uggghh

Sardines, tiny bones and tastes like shit

Caviar, fucking fish eggs

Anchovies, hairy smelly horrible little things
I find all of the above delicious. However, mutton is a little strong. Goat tastes way better.

Parsley, hate the stems they get stuck in your teeth and destroy what would otherwise be a nice soup eating experience.

Mint, horrible taste and to think some people put this on meat

Turmeric, if I just get a little taste of this in a meal I will throw it all in the bin no matter how much it cost me. Turmeric is something which I just can't stand.

Lemon and Lime as dressing for salads or as marinade base on meats. Too strong and clashes badly with nice natural flavour of say chicken.

Figs, never liked them even as a kid

Parmesan cheese, this stinks like foot odour

Blue Vein Cheese no words needed

White chocolate, for kids not adult taste buds, this milky sugary crap can often give off the very slight flavour of vomit if eaten on a very warm day.

Horseradish, I need something to compliment my meat not medicine to clear sinuses...
Broccollis do seem to suck. However, one can prepare them in ways which would disguise some of that nasty.
The only non-food which I can think of right now which I don't particularly care for are imported pinapples. I hated them even more as a kid. I heard that they taste much better when harvested ripe.

Ha - Smoked is the only type I don't like!

I won't eat kidney. It's not just that I know what the purpose of a kidney is, I just can't stand the taste.

Brussel sprouts. If there is a hell, then they are its national dish.

Mushy peas. They may well be the nicest thing in the world but they look disgusting.

Spam.

Brain's faggots.

Marzipan.

Never tried but never going to eat: gravy made from coffee. Ditto savoury popcorn.

Here's a question for the British folks... What is "dairy cream sponge"?
I'm almost afraid to ask.

I have no idea what the American name for it is but it's two round sponge cakes sandwiched together, sometimes with fresh fruit but usually with jam (oh, all right. Jelly.) and whipped cream in the middle.

We have jam and jelly, so you can say jam and we know what you're talking about.

I can't believe you don't like marzipan. I fell in love with that stuff when I lived there.

So is there a difference between jam and jelly?

Marzipan is too overpowering a taste for me. I don't mind if it's a very thin layer and you don't really notice the taste too much but some people slap it on like it's going out of fashion and it's all you can taste. It drowns the rest of the cake.

Thinly sliced & fried golden with a little mayonnaise & pepper added makes a fantastic sandwich; in it's pink right-out-of-the-can state, forget it.

Indeed. I finally figured out what makes truly good macaroni & cheese - doing it the old fashioned way with (1) high quality cheese and (2) much supervised cooking, i.e., constant stirring. There's no shortcuts if you want a great result. No microwaving! No cheese slices or bargain cheese!

I always thought that what you all call "jelly" is what we call "jello": sweet gelatin dessert. Yes?
