Dr Taj Hargey, imam of the Oxford Islamic Congregation, said race and religion were inextricably linked to the recent spate of grooming rings in which Muslim men have targeted under-age white girls.

Earlier this week seven members of a child sex ring from Oxford were found guilty of forcing under age girls to commit acts of "extreme depravity".

Their victims, aged between 11 and 15, were groomed and plied with alcohol and drugs before being sexually assaulted and forced into prostitution. They targeted "out of control" teenagers.

Dr Hargey said that the case brought shame on the city and the community and is a set back for cross community harmony.

But worse still is the refusal to face up to its realities, he wrote in the Daily Mail.

The activities of the Oxford sex ring are “bound up with religion and race” because all the men - though of different nationalities - were Muslim and they “deliberately targeted vulnerable white girls, whom they appeared to regard as 'easy meat', to use one of their revealing, racist phrases”, Dr Hargey said.

That attitude has been promoted by religious leaders, he believes. “On one level, most imams in the UK are simply using their puritanical sermons to promote the wearing of the hijab and even the burka among their female adherents. But the dire result can be the brutish misogyny we see in the Oxford sex ring.”

People tiptoe around the issues and refuse to discuss the problems exposed by the scandals such as those “from Rochdale to Oxford, and Telford to Derby”, he wrote.

In all cases the perpetrators were Muslim men and the victims were under age white girls.

To pretend it is not a problem is the Islamic community is “ideological denial”, Dr Hargey said.

“But then part of the reason this scandal happened at all is precisely because of such politically correct thinking. All the agencies of the state, including the police, the social services and the care system, seemed eager to ignore the sickening exploitation that was happening before their eyes.

“Terrified of accusations of racism, desperate not to undermine the official creed of cultural diversity, they took no action against obvious abuse.”

The men were allowed, he said, to come and go from care homes by the authorities, and if the situation had been reversed with gangs of white men preying on Muslim teenagers ”the state's agencies would have acted with greater alacrity.”

True Islam preaches respect for women but in mosques across the country a different doctrine is preached - “one that denigrates all women, but treats whites with particular contempt,” the Imam said.

The men are taught that women are “second-class citizens, little more than chattels or possessions over whom they have absolute authority," he claims in the column.

“The view of some Islamic preachers towards white women can be appalling. They encourage their followers to believe that these women are habitually promiscuous, decadent, and sleazy — sins which are made all the worse by the fact that they are kaffurs or non-believers.

“Their dress code, from miniskirts to sleeveless tops, is deemed to reflect their impure and immoral outlook. According to this mentality, these white women deserve to be punished for their behaviour by being exploited and degraded.”

Such cases can only be prevented in the future if Britain abandons the blinkers of political correctness, he concludes.

Police have arrested 45 men believed to be involved in the biggest child sex ring ever seen in the UK, it emerged today.

The arrests come after a year-long investigation into sex abuse allegations across three towns in West Yorkshire.

Most of the suspects - said to be white and Asian - are in their 20s but some of are said to be middle aged, up to their 60s.

Members of the gang are alleged to have abused four girls - some as young as 13 - over several years.

One member of the gang is said to have groomed the girls before having sex with one of them in front of his friends and passing her around to be abused.

Some of the men arrested were directly linked to each other while others were described as being 'opportunistic', the Sunday Mirror reports.

Head of the West Yorkshire Homicide and Major Inquiry team, Detective Chief Superintendent Andy Brennan, told the newspaper: 'These are serious allegations, which is why we have made a significant number of arrests to try and confirm or negate any criminality.

'Although 45 people have been arrested they are not all directly linked. There has been a series of incidents over several years and we will investigate each and every one of them.

'Some of the incidents involved a couple of people, while others involved more.'

The investigation involving 30 police officers is still ongoing and further arrests may be made.

All the alleged crimes are said to be historic - at least two years old.

The men have been bailed.

The arrests come after a series of high-profile child sex gang cases - including five men who were jailed for life in June for 'crimes of the utmost gravity' in Oxford.

Child sex gangs have also been caught in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, Cambridgeshire and Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

Default Child grooming suspect is found hanged after being 'outed' online by vigilante paedophile hunters

Trap: A suspect runs from a member of Letzgo Hunting who lure suspected sex offenders into meetings by posing as young girls online

An engineer hanged himself days after a controversial group of ‘paedophile hunters’ accused him of grooming a child over the internet.

Gary Cleary was arrested by police after being confronted in public by the vigilante group called Letzgo Hunting whose members lure suspected sex offenders into meetings by posing as young girls online.

The 29-year-old, who lived with his girlfriend, was released on bail while officers looked into the allegation, but was found dead in the garage at his home four days later. A coroner last week recorded a verdict of suicide.

Mr Cleary lived with Melissa Andrews and their dog at Newbold Verdon, Leicestershire. A relative of college worker Miss Andrews said: ‘It’s a tragedy and has left everyone extremely upset. The family have been told by the police that their investigation is still ongoing.’

The relative, who asked not to be named, went on to criticise the actions of Letzgo Hunting. He said: ‘I think it is a sad reflection on modern life that vigilantes are operating under cover of the internet. It puts the country back 300 years.’

Miss Andrews, 30, was unavailable for comment.

Letzgo Hunting, which was set up by a group of concerned parents earlier this year, has achieved a high profile after posting videos of members confronting suspected paedophiles on the internet.

It has created dozens of profiles on dating and social networking websites pretending to be girls aged 12 to 15.

The group then exchanges messages with those it considers to be ‘interested’ men, sometimes for weeks, before luring them into meetings in parks or other public areas and filming the confrontations.

The footage is uploaded on to Letzgo Hunting’s website and Facebook page, as well as YouTube, initially with the alleged suspects’ faces visible.

If an arrest is made, the images are taken down and doctored, so the men can no longer be identified, before being uploaded once more.

Last night Letzgo Hunting’s founder told the Daily Mail he has no regrets about the group’s actions, and said they will continue to work to expose ‘people who pose a risk to children’.

The man, who used to call himself Scummbuster but now likes to be known as Jamie, said: ‘We are convinced this man was a danger to children, that is why we arranged to meet him.

‘Plenty of people we come into contact with only want to talk dirty with our online ‘‘decoys’’ but he wanted to take things further. We feel sorry for his family for the loss of their son but our work will continue.’

Mr Cleary was confronted in Braunstone Park, Leicester, four months ago.

As he walked across the grass to meet an 18-year-old ‘decoy’ who Letzgo Hunting say he believed to be a 14-year-old, he was confronted by two men from the group.

They say they asked him why he was meeting an under-aged girl with a sexual motive but he fled, swearing at the men, before they could even tell him who they were. He was arrested a few days later, on May 9, after detectives were handed footage of the meeting. He was released on bail, before being found dead on May 13.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police would not confirm Mr Cleary’s name but said the man who went on to kill himself was arrested following information which was supplied by a ‘third party’.

He added: ‘He was questioned and released on police bail. He was not charged with any criminal offence.

‘On May 13 we were called to his address and discovered his body.’ Earlier this year the force warned that such vigilante activity could ‘seriously affect the chances of success in court, preventing victims from getting justice’.

During Mr Cleary’s inquest in Loughborough last Thursday, coroner Trevor Kirkman did not refer to any encounter with Letzgo Hunting or his arrest

But he told his parents David, 65, and Susan, 62, who declined to comment after the hearing: ‘This is not a court in which one apportions blame as such and nobody is on trial, still less your son.

‘Whatever may have occurred, or whatever may be thought to have occurred, is not a matter I need to go into.

‘What I have to deal with is how he came by his death and the means by which he came by his death. I am satisfied I should record that he came by his death at his own hands.

‘Whatever may have happened, the people who are left to pick up the pieces are those that love him.’

‘Jamie’ from Letzgo Hunting, who claims to work in the security industry, has previously explained that he decided to create the group with close friends in the Hinckley area of Leicestershire after someone he knew was convicted of offences against a child and possession of indecent images of children.

He said the group posts profiles of teenage minors on dating and social networking websites such as Badoo – where he said Mr Cleary was found – and Bebo. He said the first thing Letzgo Hunting ‘decoys’ did when they got into a conversation with a man online was to say: ‘I am only 14.’ Mr Cleary’s parents declined to comment at their home near Leicester. A neighbour said: ‘They’re devastated.’

Default Paedophile who posed as Justin Bieber jailed for 14 years

Image from theguardian.co.uk

A prolific paedophile who posed online as the singer Justin Bieber to convince young girls all over the world to expose themselves on video has been jailed for 14 years, in a case described as one of the worst the courts have ever seen.

The “sadistic exploitation” conducted by 35-year-old Robert Hunter, from Middlesbrough, was so extensive he sparked an international operation through Interpol. Hunter, who admitted 15 child sex charges at Teesside Crown Court, used sites such as Facebook and Skype to abuse girls as young as nine.

The court heard that after being arrested in December 2012, he continued to target children and this resulted in a girl from Tasmania eventually contacting police, who traced him back to his home.

In total, more than 800 videos and images were discovered on his computer, all of them having been made by the defendant. Hunter also blackmailed some of the victims into agreeing to his demands by threatening to make the videos he had already made of them public.

In total, Hunter pleaded guilty to 30 offences, which included 15 charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and 14 of making indecent photos of children.

Judge Peter Bowers said it was “one of the most serious cases on internet abuse that the courts have dealt with”.

From the Daily Mail :

A girl with severe learning disabilities was plied with drugs until she ‘felt dead’ while her teenage pimp passed her around for sex at a party, the Old Bailey heard.

The victim, who can only be referred to as A, was one of five under-age girls allegedly abused by a gang led by Zdeno ‘Skinny’ Mirga, 18, in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

She told a court how she was subjected to a string of abuses, including on one occasion being forced to perform sex acts on a dozen boys in a park while Mirga collected £20 a time.

In an another horrific episode, she was allegedly trapped by a much-older associate of Mirga, and his cousin, who abused her so severely that she vomited when the ordeal was over.

The schoolgirl, who has learning disabilities and is partially deaf, had lost her virginity to Mirga in a park toilet when she was just 13 years old, jurors heard.

In videotaped interviews shown to the Old Bailey, she accused the Eastern European teenager of forcing her to perform sex acts on him and other males in various locations, despite her objections that it hurt.

Mirga, along with his brother, Dusan Mirga, 20, David Ziga, 19, and Hassan Abdulla, 32, deny a long list of sexual abuse charges ranging from rape to child prostitution.

Four minors MH, 14, JK, 17, RB, 17, and JF, 14, are standing trial alongside them.

Earlier, jurors heard about a party A attended, where she was plied with drink and drugs until she practically passed out and was passed around by Mirga.

Reliving the experience in April in a second video shown to the court, the youngster said she was first forced into performing a sex act don a a 50-year-old man for £20 before Mirga took her to the party in a taxi.

There she performed sex acts on a further five ‘boys’, for which ‘they gave skinny money’, she said, adding: ‘He was happy. He said if you don’t do it, I will slap you. I feel upset, I was scared.’

Angry Five men sexually exploited 'damaged' 15-year-old girl in Rochdale

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co....amaged-6286083

Five men sexually exploited the "profound vulnerability" of a "damaged" 15-year-old girl in Rochdale, it can be reported today.

The victim, now aged 20, gave evidence against the defendants in two trials.

Many of her abusers plied the troubled teenager with vodka and cannabis before committing their offences, which took place in 2008 and 2009, Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard.

The majority of the defendants were first arrested last year after the grim portrayal of a largely Pakistani-heritage child sex ring preying on white girls in the town emerged into the public domain in a separate trial at Liverpool Crown Court.

But one of her abusers, Congolese refugee Freddie Kendakumana, was arrested and interviewed by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in December 2008 after the girl - also white - complained to police that he had raped her the month before.

The girl was told at the time by an interviewing male officer that it was important not to have any future dealings with Kendakumana while the investigation continued but she later confessed she had bumped into him at a flat. Soon after, she went on to have consensual sex with his friend when still aged 15, although that man knew she was under-age.

In a later interview, she explained: "I spoke to the police about it. The police said don't go back there. If you go back up there, we don't have a case, so I said I won't.

"I went on to see Freddie in a flat. I didn't really speak to him, I had a drink and then came home."

Kendakamuna, 27, was finally charged, along with his co-defendants, in October 2012 - nearly four years after the girl made the initial rape complaints as several men went on to abuse her in the intervening period.

By that time the girl had undergone numerous video-recorded police interviews from the end of 2008 to October 2011, totalling more than 23 hours.

The victim was first prompted to go to the police on the advice of a health support worker when she disclosed that Kendakumana was sexually forcing himself on her.

But social care and health professionals dealing with the youngster failed to pass on her other confessions in 2008 and 2009 that she was having consensual sexual contact with a string of older men whom she labelled "boyfriends".

Reporting restrictions were lifted on both proceedings by Judge Jonathan Foster QC at today's conclusion of the second trial.

Last month in the first trial, Kendakumana, of Illminster, Rochdale, was convicted of rape and sexual activity with a child. He was cleared of a second count of rape.

Two other men, Mohammed Rafiq Abubaker, 32, of Freehold, Rochdale, and takeaway worker Roheez Khan, 27, of Ashfield Road, Rochdale, were found guilty of sexual activity with a child. Khan was also convicted of witness intimidation.

A fourth man, Chola Chansa, 33, of Illminster, Rochdale, pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child just before the first trial started.

In the second trial, taxi driver Abdul Huk, 37, of Ouldfield Close, Rochdale, was found guilty yesterday of sexual activity with a child.

All five men will be sentenced on December 20.

Today the jury failed to reach a verdict on Mohammed Ali, 28, of Rochdale, on an allegation of sexual activity with a child.

The jury in the first trial also failed to reach a verdict on the same allegation against Mr Ali and, as a consequence, the Crown decided not to proceed with a third trial and has asked for the matter to lie on file.

Asrar Haider, 39, of Rochdale, was cleared by the second jury of sexual activity and inciting sexual activity with a child, while another defendant, Anjam Masood, 31, from Rochdale, was cleared of sexual activity and inciting sexual activity with a child on the direction of the judge after the prosecution said it was no longer offering evidence against him.

Charges were also dropped before the first trial against a 34-year-old man who had been accused of engaging in sexual activity with the girl in a car when she was as young as 12 or 13.

In May last year, nine men were jailed for the systematic grooming and sexual abuse of five white girls - aged between 13 and 15 - in Heywood and Rochdale.

The trial at Liverpool Crown Court resulted in a national debate over the role of gangs of largely Pakistani-heritage men in grooming white girls.

A subsequent report from child safeguarding chiefs ruled that social workers, police and prosecutors had missed opportunities to stop the exploitation in Heywood and Rochdale.

The first victim, who was 15 when the abuse began, told police what had been happening in August 2008, but her complaint was not taken seriously and she continued to be abused by the gang until December 2008 when she fell pregnant and moved away.

In July 2009, a CPS lawyer compounded the police failure to take her seriously and made the decision not to charge the two gang members she was accusing because he did not think a jury would find her "credible".

Social workers in Rochdale were criticised for apparently writing off underage girls who were deemed to be "making their own choices" in engaging in consensual sex.

Although the girl in the latest court proceedings, who is also white, was being abused at about the same time, she had no known links with any of the defendants who were jailed at Liverpool Crown Court.

The convicted defendants in the Manchester trials also came from a range of nationalities - Kendakumana and Chansa are from Congo, Abubaker is a Kurd, while Huk and Khan are believed to be of Pakistani heritage.

Several knew each other but it was not the prosecution case that they all acted in an organised manner.

In March, Assistant Chief Constable Steve Heywood said GMP had identified 42 potential victims of child sexual exploitation in the Rochdale area and said they were working closely with six of them to bring more people to justice.

Opening the case against all the defendants, prosecutor Neil Usher said: "It is the Prosecution's case that leading the chaotic life that she had for some time by the age of 15, she was vulnerable to being groomed and exploited by those who correctly perceived she would be easy to flatter and impress with free and plentiful drink, cannabis and just as importantly, a level of attention and affection that she craved and felt she had lacked in her difficult early life.

"She repeatedly and regularly returned to a number of older men all of whom sexually exploited her and some of whom physically abused her, despite her being advised and supported by health care and social workers.

"The risk-taking and potentially harming positions she regularly put herself in was an indication of the extent of her profound vulnerablily and emotional immaturity."

In 2008 the girl was a troubled teenager who had been taken into care by Social Services at an early age following a chaotic upbringing by her drug addicted parents, he said.

She was later returned to her mother after a stint in foster care but began drinking alcohol, taking crack cocaine and sniffing lighter fluid from the ages of 11 and 12.

The girl had contact with a number of agencies including Pennine Care Foundation Trust's Crisis Intervention Team which deals with sexual health and Early Break, an organisation which focuses on substance misuse problems.

The prosecutor said she would tell those agency support workers and her social workers from Rochdale Council about the lifestyle she was leading.

She would tell them that she regularly went to addresses with older men and engaged in sexual activity with them.

She claimed they would give her copious amounts of alcohol, sometimes drugs. and largely would have consensual sex with them.

The court heard that the girl realised herself just before her 16th birthday that her torrid lifestyle had to end and she later cut her ties with older men and enrolled at college.

Default South Yorkshire Police still giving priority to vehicle crime over child exploitation, says watchdog

Quote:

Senior officers from the police force that was heavily criticised over its handling of child sexual exploitation cases continue to prioritise burglary and vehicle crime over grooming victims, a report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) found.

The watchdog expressed "serious concern" over the actions of South Yorkshire Police which it ordered to improve with inspectors describing an inconsistent approach to child protection at local levels of the force.

Chief constable David Crompton was told to "get a grip" on child sex offending in Rotherham by senior MPs last year following claims of widespread abuse of girls by Asian men in the town.

In 2010 five men were jailed for grooming teenagers for sex. It was the first in a series of high-profile cases over the last three years that have revealed harrowing evidence of exploitation across England including Rochdale, Derby and Oxford.

South Yorkshire Police has faced claims that it was reluctant to bring about prosecutions of alleged sex gangs because of racial sensitivities over the ethnicity of alleged perpetrators. In 2012 it bought no successful prosecutions, a senior officer told the Home Affairs Select Committee.

An investigation by The Times claimed police and child protection agencies in Rotherham had extensive knowledge of these activities for a decade, yet failed to act.

Today's report found: "Many of the staff interviewed for this inspection felt that the emphasis from senior and middle local managers was still more focused on dealing with offences such as burglary and vehicle crime, rather than child sexual exploitation (and both the notices displayed in police stations, and some of the documentation reviewed for this inspection support this perception)."

HMIC called for South Yorkshire Police, which is also at the centre of continuing controversy over its role in the Hillsborough disaster, to carry out an audit of its response to child sexual exploitation in in accordance a national policing action plan -something it was supposed to have carried out in the summer.

Inspectors said the force is unable to evaluate the quality of its protective work as in some cases there was no record in the case file of the level of support and intervention provided by police and partners to the victim.

The report was one of three inquiries commissioned South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Shaun Wright. It concluded that Mr Wright and the Chief Constable had made child sexual exploitation a top priority for the force. Between January and March 2013 South Yorkshire trained all of its 1,700 frontline staff in relation to child sexual exploitation.

It praised staff for being "conscientious, enthusiastic, and focused" on helping children. But it said whilst there were" pockets of good and effective practice" the approach varied significantly across the force's four districts - Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham.

"HMIC also found that many staff in public protection and children safeguarding specialist units were working in crowded offices, were poorly equipped, and found it difficult to manage their workloads. This situation is adversely disproportionate to the importance the PCC and chief constable have placed on this area of policing," the report said.

Post 3 Pakistanis Used Facebook to Groom and Rape Children

3 Pakistanis Used Facebook to Groom and Rape Children

by: sven

Daily Mail

December 7, 2013

Shakil Munir was the ringleader and is awaiting sentencing for abduction as well as child rape.

A senior detective has warned parents to monitor the social networks their children use after three men were convicted of grooming girls as young as 13 and exploiting them for sex.

Six girls in total were exploited by taxi driver Shakil Munir, 32, and Sakib Ahmed, 19, after they were groomed over Facebook and BlackBerry Messenger.

Another man, Ateeq Latif, 17, was found guilty of helping the commission of a child sex offence.

One of the young girls’ mothers has called on other children to be careful when using social networks, saying that her daughter had 2,200 friends on Facebook, and described the site as a ‘free for all’.

Teesside Crown Court heard how taxi driver Munir had sent the 14-year-old girl hundreds of messages on Facebook, many of them explicit, one night after befriending her.

While the victims were being raped, Ateeq Latif would keep the victim’s friends occupied by luring them away.

He had picked up the child in his car, while she was in her pyjamas and slippers, and had sex with her in a lay-by off the A19.

That same week, he took a 13-year-old to a ‘chill-pad’ flat for sex.

Accomplice: Ateeq Latif, 17, was found guilty of helping the commission of a child sex offence after accompanying Ahmed on drives and leading off other girls so his friend would be alone with a young victim.

Munir, who was thought to have many young ‘friends’ on Facebook was convicted of four counts of sexual activity with a child and one of abduction – relating to driving off with the 14-year-old.

On the eve of the group’s trial, Ahmed admitted sexual activity with a child, charges relating to five under-age victims.

He used BlackBerry Messenger to contact his victims, manipulating the girls into thinking he liked them, then pressuring them for sex.

Sakib Ahmed. The Pakistanis also encouraged the girls to skip school and take drugs.

He met one girl at an under-18s disco at a nightclub, and when she told him she was only 14, he replied: ‘Pretend you’re 16.’

He grabbed her and kissed her roughly in the toilets. Later, when her mother was driving her home, he began messaging her BlackBerry to set up another meeting.

He got her on a date and parked up near a field and pressured her into having sex.

He would take girls out for a drive before pressurising them into giving him oral sex or full intercourse.

Ahmed’s friend Latif, 17, was convicted by the jury today of two counts of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.

How does the government fix this problem? By dumping more and more third world immigrants into Britain, of course! Native Britons can never have too many of these f**king niggers and pakis. The future of the UK is the endless, massive immigration of nigger and paki invaders, who will be crammed like sardines into all of the major cities.

Where are you going to run to, white man? The white man can't run forever; he's going to have to stand and fight at some point. Pretty soon ye merrie olde Englande will look like India or Brazil landed in Europe.

Post Rochdale sex grooming gang: Police were 'colour blind' to white girls exploited by Asian paedophile ring

Rochdale sex grooming gang: Police were 'colour blind' to white girls exploited by Asian paedophile ring

by: Paul Byrne

The victims of an Asian sex gang were abused under the noses of officials who missed a string of warning signs, a damning report said today.

It accused police, social workers, health workers and the Crown Prosecution Service of being “colour blind” to the racial element of the grooming of teenage white girls by the older perverts.

The Serious Case Review also claimed the authorities “struggled to empathise” with the victims, partly because they were from poor backgrounds.

Nine men, aged 24 to 59, were last year jailed for up to 19 years each for assaulting the girls, some just 13, in *Rochdale, Gtr Manchester.

The SCR said police could have stepped in sooner if they questioned why older Asian men were in relationships with vulnerable white teenage girls.

One girl of 15 was repeatedly raped.

But social workers told her parents that she was a prostitute.

Greater Manchester Police hief Constable Sir Peter Fahy accepted the force let the girls down and added: “The welfare of these victims should now be at the very forefront of everything we do.”

Meanwhile five other men who sexually exploited a 15-year-old Rochdale girl have been jailed for up to eight and a half years.

Freddie Kendakumana was guilty of rape, Abdul Huk, 37, and Mohammed Rafiq Abubaker, 25, of sex with a child.

Chola Chansa, 33, had admitted sex with a child.

Post UK: 4 Non-White Perverts Abuse 8 14-Year-Old Girls in Latest Muslim Grooming Gang

UK: 4 Non-White Perverts Abuse 8 14-Year-Old Girls in Latest Muslim Grooming Gang

Peterborough Today

February 8, 2014

The picturesque city of Peterborough is experiencing a plague of Non-White rapes of young White girls. This is the second gang of Muslim rapists to be busted there within a year.

Four men will stand trial accused of running a sex ring which abused young teenage girls in Peterborough.

Yasir Ali, (28), Mohammed Aslam, (23), Daaim Ashraf, (19), and Akash Yasin, (18), are said to have sexually abused eight 14-year-old girls.

The charges include sex trafficking and rape but the indictment – which is likely to feature more than 20 counts – has not yet been finalised.

Legal teams are currently preparing the final documents for a hearing later this month.

The men did not appear at the Old Bailey in London for the hearing into the case on Friday.

The trial will be the second major court case looking into the sexual abuse of young girls in Peterborough, following conviction of five defendants earlier this year in a separate investigation.

The prosecution applied for the new case to be moved from Peterborough Crown Court.

Prosecutor Nicola Devas said: “It follows on the back of a not dissimilar trial which was heard in this court a short while ago.”

Mr Justice Sweeney agreed with the prosecution’s submission, and said a Peterborough court would not be able to host the trial.

He said: “This is not a case which can be accommodated at Peterborough in any event.”

The judge set the trial for March 24 at Cambridge Crown Court.

It is estimated to last between four and five weeks.

Ali, of Grange Road, Peterborough, Aslam, of Grange Road, Peterborough, and Ashraf and Yasin, of no fixed address, are due to enter their pleas to the indictment later this month on February 21.

The new case is unconnected to the previous sex ring case, which concluded in January: Two men and three boys guilty of sex offences .

Post White Victims of Muslim Rape Gangs Branded Racist and White Trash by Non-Whites

UK: White Victims of Muslim Rape Gangs Branded Racist and White Trash by Non-Whites

The Northern Echo

February 14, 2014

Shakil Munir

FIVE girls groomed on the streets of a North-East town are still being “tortured” by supporters of the men who abused them, their families said tonight.

The mother of one of the teenage victims spoke out after two men and a 17-year-old youth were jailed for a total of 19 years for sexually exploiting the girls in Middlesbrough.

Passing sentence Judge John Walford told Shakil Munir, 32, 19-year-old Sakib Ahmed and Ateeq Latif, 17, that they had regarded the girls – all aged between 13 and 15 – as objects for their own sexual pleasure.

He added: “In reality they were children who lacked the maturity of experience to cope with your manipulative ways.”

The court heard that the girls had been taunted and insulted by friends and family of the defendants since coming forward, including being bombarded by obscene messages, called sluts and accused of being racist.

Judge Walford described the girls’ treatment as “appalling”, adding that it revealed a “profoundly worrying attitude about the offending”.

Speaking outside court after the sentencing, the mother of one of the victims said: “The girls are still being tortured by these people – they are painting them as sluts when they are the victims.”

Police maintained a high presence inside and outside Teesside Crown Court yesterday as about 20 English Defence League activists exchanged insults with supporters of the defendants.

Ateeq Latif

THE behavior of men who used threats and manipulation to groom and abuse vulnerable underage girls was today condemned.

Judge Walford said there was no place in a civilised society for the attitude shown by the three defendants towards the five girls, who were all aged between 13 and 15.

Although he said the case was different to other grooming cases around the country where young girls had been trafficked and passed around, he said: “It is unacceptable for feckless young men to roam the streets at night seeking young, impressionable girls, with only one objective in mind.

“That is behaviour that needs to be condemned.”

Taxidriver Shakil Munir, 32, of Tollesby Road, Middlesbrough, was sentenced to eight years in prison after being found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a child and one of abduction.

Sakeb Ahmed, 19, a pizza shop worker from Cambridge Road, Middlesbrough, was also sentenced to eight years after admitting five charges of sexual activity with a child.

Student Ateeq Latif, 17, of Abingdon Road, Middlesbrough, was sent to a young offenders’ institution for three years after being convicted of two counts of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.

Christopher Knox, prosecuting, told Teesside Crown Court that the girls had been exploited by a loosely connected group of young men and one older man.

He added: “They were exploitative relationships. They were groomed for what later occurred – these were not a case of girlfriend, boyfriend relationships.”

Sakib Ahmed

Mr Knox said the grooming progressed from talking face to face to exchanging phone messages.

Mr Knox said that since coming forward, the victims had been subjected to “horrifying” abuse by friends and family of the defendants.

He added: “They have been subjected to name calling; suggestions such as ‘white trash’.

“They have been goaded in classrooms, saying ‘don’t touch her she will have you done for rape’.

“They have also been bombarded by obscene messages on Facebook, calling them sluts and accusing them of being racist.”

The court heard how a car belonging to one of the girl’s families had been vandalised, while family members had received threats on-line.

Outside court the mother of one of the girls revealed how her family had been forced to move home because of the intimidation.

Judge Walford said the defendants could not be held responsible for the “shameful behavior” of others.

However, he added: “I openly express the hope that after today the sort of unpleasantness to which those girls have been subjected will cease and they can be allowed to put these events behind them.”

Detective Inspector Dino Carlucci, who led the investigation, paid tribute to the victims who had given evidence, adding: “I now hope the girls can get on and enjoy their lives, which is what teenage girls should be doing.”

Members of the English Defence League chanted and exchanged insults with Asian supporters of the defendants outside court.

They were watched over by scores of police.

......and some on here insinuated that the victims had deserved it.

If the roles had been reversed though, and these were Asian victims being persecuted by white taunters, would it still warrant a small story in a small local paper like the Northern Echo?

Oldham a hot-spot for sexploitation tip-offs

Reporter: Robbie MacDonald
Date online: 18 March 2014

GREATER Manchester Police has received over 2,000 alerts and tip-offs about child sexual exploitation in 10 months - including more than 200 from Oldham, the third-highest number in the force area.

A Greater Manchester MP leading an inquiry says the public now has a greater awareness of issues since the high-profile Rochdale grooming case in 2012 in which nine men, including two from Oldham, were convicted.

MP Ann Coffey is currently conducting an inquiry for GMP and Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd into what more can be done to protect children. She has praised an Oldham project which has helped more than 100 girls this year alone.

In the 10 months up to January, Rochdale accounted for one-third of all exploitation alerts in Greater Manchester, followed by south Manchester, Oldham and Tameside. A total 2,286 pieces of intelligence relating to child sexual exploitation were passed to the police up to January of this year.

The alerts included tip-offs from worried residents and observations from police officers on the streets, social services, schools and other agencies.

These are the first figures since a new system of highlighting potential exploitation was introduced by GMP’s command system a year ago, following the Rochdale scandal.

Rochdale’s police division had 693 alerts in 10 months, followed by 269 in south Manchester, 224 in Oldham and 210 in Tameside.

Ms Coffey said: “The sheer volume of alerts is a sign that the community has its eyes and ears wide-open and are prepared to fight back together. It shows that the level of concern is high.”
