Italians had 12,000 fewer babies in 2016
The number of births in Italy fell by more than 12,000 last year, the country’s national statistics office said on Tuesday. Italy registered 473,438 births in 2016, continuing a downward trend that has seen births drop by over 100,000 since 2008, according to Istat’s latest fertility report. The decline is particularly steep among couples where both partners are Italian. Among this demographic, Istat said, births have fallen by 107,000 over the same period. https://www.thelocal.it/20171128/ita...ing-birth-rate |

Italy is overpopulated so a reduction in population would not be terribly negative if it weren't for the tidal wave of muds invading the country.
