Not quite sure what I'd be joking about. I only sharpen it with my grinder though, not those crappy little plastic sharpeners. It still cuts well, but that could be in part due to the weight. The thing rusts really bad though. So I have to bring out the sandpaper very often.

First off, if you see a $12 "knife" from BudK or smokey mountain knife works, it's usually a bottom-of-the-line pos chinese import with the absolute crappiest materials available. Costs a few cents to make. 440a stainless steel.
Second, just to point out, there are sometimes fantastic deals on knives if you know what you're dealing with, for example Ontario Knife, Cold Steel, etc.. Big differences. http://www.ltspecpro.com/gitanto.html |

Here is a nice Canadian armory selling hand-forged swords for reasonable prices :http://www.darksword-armory.com/index.html
I was thinking of picking this one up: http://www.darksword-armory.com/oslo...g%20sword.html You can get them blunt or sharpened. Here is one for the Christians: http://www.darksword-armory.com/1309.html A two-hander with a nice etching that reads: "Militaris Templi" for the Knights Templar.

I own the 'crusader sword' by generation2 and I love it. I own a few of their models and the quality for what they ask is a bargain. |

Seriously, swords for combat and self-defense? Did I take a wrong turn and end up in the D&D forums? Knives, sure. But a sword for carry? That's got to be one of the hallmarks of a hardcore fantasy fetishist. And it's gayer than Witzgall.
The internet has many fine photos of brave blade-wielders: Swords are really cool...if you're twelve. Or slaying orcs and unicorns. |
