The brutal raids of the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers in northern Kansas during the Spring of 1869 were met with a fierce retaliation by the Fifth US Cavalry. At the height of the Plains Wars, atrocities on both sides were a daily occurrence; and in the actions and bravery of American pioneers and the local authorities, there is a lesson to be learned for nationalists everywhere...
