Cannabis bill passes Senate vote after day of fiery debate

The federal government's cannabis legalization bill survived a critical vote in the Senate on Thursday, keeping Bill C-45 on the path to becoming the law of the land.

The success of the vote at second reading means C-45 will continue being studied by Senate committees over the coming months.

In the 1960e-1970s I saw many "MSM" articles about a tobacco cartel which had already designed a package for marijuana cigarettes to be marketed in several brand names, including "Acapulco Gold," with photographs of the proposed packages.

There were many reasons why it was surmised that marijuana wasn't legalized in that era:

1. The potable alcohol lobby didn't want any competition.
2. Big tobacco was "in bed" with "big alcohol" and didn't want an economic "war."
3. There was no precedent under the Doctrine of Parity when hemp for ingestion was outlawed in the kwa. However, the Parity Doctrine seemed more political than beneficial for kwa citizens. For the Parity Doctrine, read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctrine_of_parity

For the cannabis debate in the kwa, I would like interested parties to read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_..._United_States

I condone the use of cannabis for cancer patients, among other disease groups. It has been legal for certain types of glaucoma in the kwa for years.

As a recreational drug, I am opposed to its legalization.
