I also liked his work on the early Deep Purple albums, although he later disgraced himself when he formed the bogus Deep Purple with unknown session musicians and took it on tour in 1980 in an attempt to cash in on the band name. He was successfully sued by the management of the real DP and had to pay damages of around $700,000, he also lost all rights to royalties for the bands first three albums. After this he disappeared from the scene and has not been heard of since. Bogus Deep Purple live in Mexico 1980, no fucking shame

Best Rainbow album of the post Dio era, 1979s Down To Earth featuring the underrated Graham Bonnet on vocals.
Nothing can beat the legendary Dio years but I much prefer this album of Rainbow to the AOR sell out crap they began putting out in the early 80s with Joe Lynn Turner, although there were a few good songs even on those albums. 1979
