"Get Rid of the White Kids" Say Pakistani Parents as Cameron Urges British Values
The head of one the Birmingham schools at the centre of the 'Trojan Horse' controversy has revealed that parents of Pakistani origin wanted her to "get rid of the white kids" at her school. Sarah Hewitt-Clarkson, head teacher at Anderton Park Primary School, told the Sunday Times that when a small number of white children arrived at her school, which was predominantly Muslim, parents started making a series of racist demands: "We had kids saying 'What are you playing with the white kid for? What are you playing with the Christians for?' The dad of one of the Pakistani heritage pupils at the school even told me I should 'get rid of the white kids'. "He said, 'If I was head I would get the white kids and shove them in the corner with white desks and a white teacher and keep them away from the rest of the kids. I told him that what he had said was racist and I was going to write it down. Then he said, 'You should get rid of the white kids, that is what the community would want you to do.'" She later reported the parent to the police. The 'Trojan Horse' scandal erupted earlier this year following a series of revelations over hard line Islamist governors trying to force secular schools to adopt strict Islamic practices. The revelation comes as Prime Minister David Cameron called for every school child to be taught the "British values" enshrined in Magna Carta. Mr Cameron said children from all backgrounds should learn about the document, which is widely credited with paving the way for parliamentary democracy and rule of law. The Prime Minister wants to mark next year's 800th anniversary of the signing of the document with celebrations across the country. I want to use this anniversary as an opportunity for every child to learn about the Magna Carta, for towns to commemorate it, for events to celebrate it,” he said. Magna Carta was forced on King John on 1215 following a revolt by his nobility. John had tried to rule as a despotic, absolute ruler, but his barons humiliated him and forced him to sign the document which limited his power. David Cameron said: "It’s a great document in our history — what my favourite book, Our Island Story, describes as the ‘foundation of all our laws and liberties’. In sealing it, King John had to accept his subjects were citizens — for the first time giving them rights, protections and security" read full article at source: http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-L...istani-Parents |

After Trojan Horse, Muslims May be Banned from Being School Officials in the UK
DailyStormer.com A set of rules aimed at promoting “British values” in schools could ban conservative Muslims from becoming governors, a religious rights group says. The new regulations follow allegations of a “Trojan Horse” plot to Islamisize schools in the UK. The Department of Education has introduced a new set of rules governing free schools and academies in Britain. The regulations dictate that school governors and trustees should demonstrate “fundamental British values” and give the state powers to close the schools if they do not toe the line. “The Academy Trust must ensure that principles are promoted which support fundamental British values,” say the rules. These include respect for democracy and the democratic process, support for gender equality and tolerance of different faiths and religions. The Muslim Council of Britain (MBC) argues the new rules are discriminatory and allocate too much power to the Department of Education to define “British values.” A spokesperson from the organization told The Guardian that the regulations could bar conservative Muslims from becoming school governors or trustees and unfairly penalize them for participating in public life. “As a matter of principle, to have so much power vested in one hand is wrong. But then to have powers over an area over which there is no consensus is, frankly speaking, quite dangerous,” Talha Ahmad, a senior member of the MCB, told The Guardian. A representative from the Department of Education denied claims that Muslims would be prevented from becoming governors and trustees, maintaining diversity is always welcome in governing bodies. However, the spokesperson said it is right that “unsuitable people” should be barred from the role of governor. “We are clear that any behavior which undermines the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs is incompatible with being a governor in a state-funded school in England,” the DoE spokesperson told The Guardian. The new measures come as part of a Department of Education response to the Trojan Horse scandal where an anonymous plot was allegedly discovered to Islamisize UK schools. Following an investigation into schools in Birmingham – where the plot was initially reported – Britain’s chief inspector of schools said “a culture of fear and intimidation has taken grip.” As a result of the investigation, the Office of Standards in Education placed five schools on a warning list. In addition, a number of governors were banned from holding office. In connection with the plot, a number of allegations have emerged claiming that non-Muslim teachers were being forced out of schools in Birmingham. In addition, the Telegraph reported practices such as religious fasting and segregation of the sexes being enforced in some schools. In response to the scandal, Education Minister Michael Gove said that in future UK schools will be required to promote “British values.” Prime Minister David Cameron also condemned the reports and said he wanted to start snap inspections in British schools. read full article at source: http://www.dailystormer.com/after-tr...als-in-the-uk/ |

Islamic extremism concerns at school
Kobi Nazrul Primary School in Whitechapel is yet to comment An east London primary school is at the centre of concerns over Islamic extremism, it has been revealed. A Freedom of Information (FoI) request by BBC London shows Tower Hamlets Council holds information concerning the possible Islamification of Kobi Nazrul Primary School in Whitechapel. It follows the so-called Trojan Horse plot in Birmingham, in which some schools were the target of an alleged Islamic takeover plan. Kobi Nazrul school is yet to comment. The FoI request demanded details of alleged attempts to infiltrate any school by Islamic extremists in the borough, subvert the school's teaching, or oversee the increasing Islamification of lessons. Tower Hamlets confirmed it was in possession of relevant information, but refused to hand it over, claiming data protection rules may be breached by doing so. In a statement, it said: "The council has received some information about a single school in the borough. "The council does not propose to identify the school or produce the document it holds." However the BBC understands the information held by the council relates to Kobi Nazrul school. BBC London has also learned one of the governors, Mohammed Abdul Kuddus, is a member of the radical Islamist group Hitzb-ut-Tahir. Successive prime ministers have considered banning the group, which has in the past infiltrated and recruited at universities. It remains under "constant review" by the Home Office. Mr Abdul Kuddus declined to comment. Rushanara Ali, Labour MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, said: "Alarm bells had been raised by the local education authority six months ago - there has been a government failure to step in. "Now it seems there is another dimension which is very concerning for parents. SATs results"This is bound to increase anxiety about safeguarding and standards." The school was already the subject of concern after a drop in standards. An emergency Ofsted inspection was carried out after the school recorded the worst SATs results ever in the borough. In 2012, 82% of children achieved the required results in maths and English. The following summer that figure was down to 40%. Suroth Miah urged the school's leadership to resign Four governors at the school resigned. One of them, Suroth Miah, said: "The focus for us is the learning, development, teaching standards and the management. "The results of the last 18 months have not been good enough. "This alone should influence the senior leadership to resign." Jamal Hussain, the parent of a child at the school, said: "For this school to have failed in such a dramatic way - parents are frustrated and angry as to what has happened. "We asked the governors why our school is failing, but we don't have an answer." The vast majority of pupils at the school are Bangladeshi. Nearly all speak English as a second language. Robert McCulloch-Graham, Tower Hamlets Council's director of education, said: "This council has an excellent track record of transforming underperforming schools and of taking tough action when the school does not cooperate. "With our support we fully expect Kobi Nazrul to return quickly to the excellent school it was two years ago." A spokesman for the Department for Education said: "Ofsted recently carried out an inspection at Kobi Nazrul school due to concerns about SATs test results. We await the results with interest. "If there are allegations of extremism in any school, we will investigate them. "If we find evidence of extremism we will not hesitate to act, as we have done in Birmingham." read full article at source: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-28093835 |

Hang on mate, YOU'RE the political commentator for one of the biggest papers in Britain and you're claiming that it's "sick" that things can't be said about other religions? Well, let's see. Off the top of my head, in recent months. we've had: A big row about clandestine halal meat. A big row about the catholic church and dead babies. A row about christians and gay marriage. Christians and muslims getting upset over their kids being allocated places at a "No meat" Hindu school. ht tp://ww w.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-28131933 So if this political commentator with a large and widely read platform is upset about the imbalance of commentary/criticism of any other religion, perhaps it's up to him to make the first move?

Fears of Islamophobia gave activists free rein in Birmingham schools
Parkview School, one of the Birmingham schools at the centre of the Trojan horse inquiry. Photograph: Christopher Furlong/Getty Images A group of fundamentalist "activists", mostly men of Pakistani origin, infiltrated the management of at least 10 schools in Birmingham, sometimes breaking the law in order to introduce Muslim worship and sex segregation, according to a highly critical report. Their activities were unimpeded by council officials who were fearful of allegations of Islamophobia, who forced ousted teachers to sign gagging clauses rather than treating their complaints seriously as whistleblowers, Ian Kershaw, the authority's independent adviser, concluded. Sir Albert Bore, leader of the city's Labour-run council, apologised on Friday to the people of Birmingham "for the way the actions of a few, including some within the council, have undermined the great reputation of our city". But he refused to resign and blamed the previous Tory administration for turning a blind eye to what one report described as "coordinated, deliberate and sustained action to introduce an intolerant and aggressive Islamist ethos into some schools in the city". Kershaw found that there had indeed been a "determined effort to changed schools, often by unacceptable practices, in order to influence educational and religious provision for the students served". Some or all of tactics outlined in the Trojan horse plot were present in 10 schools, he said. But he noted that many of the "activists" who "bullied and harassed" headteachers were ultimately motivated by a "genuine and understandable desire" to improve standards for children from an ethnic-minority group long poorly served by education in the city. However, he found "no evidence of a conspiracy to promote an anti-British agenda, violent extremism or radicalisation of schools in east Birmingham." This contrasts with a report leaked to the Guardian on Thursday night, commissioned by the former education secretary Michael Gove, in which the author, counter-terrorism police officer Peter Clarke, found there had been a "sustained and coordinated agenda to impose upon children in a number of Birmingham schools the segregationist attitudes and practices of a hardline and politicised strain of Sunni Islam". The independent Kershaw investigation was commissioned by Birmingham city council (BCC) as a result of concerns raised in a dossier leaked to the media this year. Known as the "Trojan horse" letter, it suggested a number of schools in the city had been "taken over" to ensure they were run on strict Islamic principles. Yet many parents remain happy with the education their children receive at these criticised schools. Outside Park View on Friday, parents insisted their children received both a good education and were allowed to observe their religion. One mother of a year-9 pupil said: "My son gets to pray at school. That's all I'm concerned about." Another mother, Yasmin Bashir, said: "I'm very happy with the school. It's nice, nice principles." Some children were "coerced" into Muslim worship, said Kershaw. One of his interviewees said that at Park View academy, which was put into special measures by Ofsted last month, a ball was confiscated from a boy who ignored the call to prayer in the playground. Female pupils were also ordered to return from a tennis coaching programme "because the school policy … does not allow girls to have a male coach and take part in any activity with boys" and a netball tournament was cancelled because organisers were not able to guarantee there would be no men present. At Golden Hillock school, one of Kershaw's interviewees reported that a teacher told children not to listen to Christians because they were "all liars"; another allegedly told pupils they were "lucky to be Muslims and not ignorant like Christians and Jews". At Highfield junior and infant school, the governors wanted to introduce Arabic as the main foreign language, going against the wishes of parents. The same happened at Nansen primary, with Arabic replacing French. After the school became an academy under Park View's control in October 2012, Christmas and Diwali celebrations no longer took place, Kershaw reported. Similarly, at Oldknow academy last December, children were told not to send Christmas cards and that it was "unbelievable that Christians believe in the Christmas story". Kershaw reported that pupils were encouraged to chant "no, we don't" when asked questions such as "Do we celebrate or believe in Christmas?" At Saltley school, activists demanded that the kitchen serve exclusively halal food, despite the catering consultants warning that it would not be appropriate for other religions and would have cost implications. At a governors meeting on 31 January last year, one Saltley governor queried whether the word "sex" had to appear in the school's Sex and Relationships policy. At Adderley primary school, members of the governing body were said to have raised "so many petty problems", such as requiring black-out curtains for an after-school fitness class, raising repeated requests and concerns over religious education and notallowing the school to celebrate Christmas and Easter. After Gove's surprise removal on Monday, the Department for Education seemed at a loss as to how to respond to the latest revelations. Gove's replacement, Nicky Morgan, is expected to give a statement to the Commons next week when Clarke's final report is officially published. In the version seen by the Guardian, Clarke wants the responsibilities of the teacher who is designated child protection officer to include the Prevent anti-extremism strategy and calls for limits on the number of school governorships held by a single individual. He also wants a review of the process by which local authority-controlled schools are converted into autonomous academies. In his report, Kershaw found that some headteachers and governors had broken the law by introducing ----- snip ----- read full article at source: http://www.theguardian.com/education...t-islamophobia |

Trojan Horse Muslims Promoted Lee Rigby Fakery Conspiracy
Andrew Anglin Daily Stormer July 26, 2014 Shortly after the death of Drummer Lee Rigby, a Jew on YouTube called “108morris108” came out and pushed the idea that this murder was some type of a staged event involving actors. To my horror, some within the nationalist movement picked up on this wacky Jew’s demented idea and started spreading the idea, apparently believing that the government wants the people to think that Muslims murder people, when actually they don’t. In fact, this the reverse of the truth – Muslims murder people constantly, while the government tries to push the idea that they don’t. Though it is insane for nationalists to push this Jew’s theory, it makes much more sense for invading Muslims to push it. And this was happening among the Trojan Horse operatives who were attempting to take over the school system of Birmingham. Teachers at Birmingham schools at the centre of the ‘Trojan Horse’ allegations believed the murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby was a hoax and wanted to promote this view, according to a report. … The report adds: “There are also a number of postings in the discussion group giving links to conspiracy theorist videos about the murder of Lee Rigby and the Boston bombings”. While there are some messages that clearly state the Woolwich murder “has no place in Islam”, Clarke adds: “It remains of concern that members of Park View School staff, judging from their own comments, believed that the murder of Lee Rigby was some kind of staged event or hoax, and exhorted their colleagues to spread the conspiracy videos promulgating this view to ‘all your contacts.’” This should shed a bit of light on why these theories circulate, and who they benefit. They certainly don’t benefit Europeans, or the family of the boy these animals ran down and murdered before mutilating his corpse. This is a theory created by a Jew and spread by Muslims for the purpose of justifying the behavior of immigrants in Europe. read full article at source: http://www.dailystormer.com/trojan-h...ry-conspiracy/ |

Head-Teacher Betrayed by Council and Forced Out of School by Muslim Bullies
DailyStormer.com A HEAD teacher forced out of his school by Trojan horse extremists last night said he felt betrayed by the council which he claims did nothing to stop the plot. The teacher broke his silence to tell of his ordeal at the hands of his own school governors. He said the governors sought to control his inner-city school, including bringing in Islamic worship each morning. When he objected he claims they conspired to force him out and replace him with a Muslim head. He told the council what was happening and was offered no support. Later he was told to resign by council bosses. Now he has decided to speak out despite being banned from discussing his ordeal after signing a compromise agreement. Last night the teacher, who did not wish to be named, spoke of the betrayal he felt by Birmingham City Council which failed to stand up to the bullying governors at his school. He said: “It was bullying and I told the local authority I was being bullied and they did nothing to stop it and eventually asked me to leave rather than taking action against the governors. It felt like a bit of a betrayal.” The head first ran into difficulties with his governing body after the appointment of a new Muslim chairman. He said: “From there on relations were never the same again and gradually went down hill. “They would collude over meetings and would make sure to orchestrate situations where the only people present were the troublesome Muslim governors and myself so they would try to browbeat me into doing what they wanted. “What they wanted was Islamic worship every day for all students. “Ultimately the governors wanted the Islamifaction of the school. I am sure they wanted to get rid of me and get a new Muslim head teacher in.” The head took the difficult decision to talk to the local authority and demand action be taken against the governing body. “I spoke to the local authority numerous times and I was told that if things ever got too bad they would step in but then they didn’t and it was at that point it became clear that I was going to have to leave.” On the day the head was asked to tender his resignation, he was under the impression the local authority was finally going to intervene. He said: “I thought I was going to talk to the local authority about the steps they were going to take to tackle the governing body but as it turned out, they said, ‘No, you will have to resign’.” The teacher also believes had he been free to speak up, other teachers may not have had to suffer the same ordeal. In all, 25 schools in Birmingham have been linked with the alleged Trojan horse takeover plot. Now the former head has backed up claims made by Birmingham MP Khalid Mahmood last week that those teachers forced out of Birmingham schools could sue the council for failure in its duty of care towards them. read full article at source: http://www.dailystormer.com/head-tea...uslim-bullies/ |

Plot to Islamise state schools is far from over, says man sent to investigate the scandal
Plot to 'Islamise' state schools is far from over, says man sent to investigate the scandal Photo: Will Wintercross/Joe Giddens/PA The "Trojan Horse” affair in Birmingham was merely the “tip of the iceberg” of Islamist infiltration in British schools, according to the man appointed by the Government to investigate the scandal. Peter Clarke spoke amid indications that the plot, where hard-line Muslims hounded out secular head teachers in order to “Islamise” state schools, is flaring up again and broadening its reach. Mr Clarke, a former police counterterror chief, said that parts of Whitehall attempted to “intimidate” him out of taking on the inquiry but succeeded only in convincing him that there must be something worth investigating. He strongly disputed a statement made two weeks ago by Nicky Morgan, the new Education Secretary, that ministers had “got to the bottom of the issue”. Asked if he agreed with the claim, made on BBC Radio WM, Mr Clarke said: “Of course the Government hasn’t got to the bottom of the Trojan Horse affair, nowhere near it. “You haven’t got to the bottom of it until you’ve proved or disproved whether there is something similar happening elsewhere [outside Birmingham]. “What I put in my report was the tip of the iceberg. There is a huge amount of material which I didn’t put in. I deliberately focused on what appeared to be the epicentre. There were problems elsewhere which I couldn’t evidence sufficiently in the time available. “You’ve got to look at the roles of Birmingham city council and the unions and you’ve got to see where else Tahir Alam [the alleged ringleader] had influence.” Mr Clarke described the council’s behaviour as “extraordinary”. He disclosed that even after his inquiry was set up, officials and senior politicians had denied all knowledge of the plot, both in public, and to their own investigator, Ian Kershaw. “Then, very late in my inquiry, my team found an email buried in a mass of documentation submitted by the council which showed that they had known about it all along. “Despite all the interviews that both I and Ian Kershaw had with officials, none of them at any time made reference to that earlier correspondence,” he said. Saltey School in Birmingham (PA) He also attacked the NASUWT teaching union, which represented Balwant Bains, the head of Saltley School, who was forced out by the plotters. Mr Clarke’s report, based on evidence from Mr Bains, said that, instead of defending their member, the union told him to resign and to sign a gagging deal, known as a “compromise agreement”. Mr Bains “suspected that the idea of a compromise agreement had originated with the union”, the report said. Chris Keates, the NASUWT’s general secretary, is threatening to sue Mr Bains unless he signs a statement absolving the union of any blame, it has been learnt. Mrs Keates wrote to the former head teacher last month saying that unless he withdrew the allegation “you should be left in no doubt that we reserve the right to take appropriate legal action”. Mrs Keates is married to Les Lawrence, the former cabinet member for education at Birmingham city council. Mr Lawrence is also a former business partner of Mr Alam, the alleged ringleader. Mr Clarke said: “I was surprised, to say the least, at Chris Keates’s position. When I spoke to her at some considerable length, she did not choose to disclose her marriage to Les Lawrence to me. Her view was that the whole thing was the fault of government policy.” Police were called last week to one of the Birmingham schools inspected during the scandal after “disorder” involving Muslim parents protesting against its teaching that homosexuality was acceptable. Officers attended Welford School, in Handsworth, following reports of trouble during a meeting between a “large group of parents” and Jamie Barry, the head teacher, a spokesman said. Up to six police vehicles were sent. Mr Barry, described as a “brilliant young head” by colleagues, used course material that challenged homophobia and displayed a notice in the school urging “respect” for people of all sexualities. Welford was one of 21 schools given emergency inspections by Ofsted during the Trojan Horse plot, but received a clean bill of health. A spokesman for Birmingham city council said: “ We can confirm there was an incident at Welford School which we are looking into. We are concerned that parents are objecting to elements of the equalities and diversity agenda which forms part of the … curriculum. It is not acceptable for parents to pick and choose between aspects of this agenda. We are providing direct support to the head teacher and the chair of governors.” Another Trojan Horse school, Oldknow, has been subject to intensive reinspection by Ofsted and the Education Funding Agency this month amid deep concerns that radical staff have not been removed and dubious practices have not been abolished. Bhupinder Kondal, Oldknow’s successful head, was forced out by plotters who Islamised the secular academy, ran subsidised Muslim-only trips to Mecca, prevented children from celebrating Christmas and made racist remarks in assemblies. Ms Kondal has now returned to work, and the former chairman of governors has been removed. However, Barry Henley, the new chairman, has dismissed the plot as a “malicious hoax” and an “Islamophobic witch-hunt”. The hard-line Oldknow Parents’ Association, created during the scandal to support the extremist leadership, remains active at the school. Meanwhile, some head teachers and officials in neighbouring Dudley fear they have become the next target of a Birmingham-style Trojan Horse plot. Heads and school improvement officers in the town met last week to discuss the problem. “There have been concerted efforts by some Muslim communities in Dudley to push a Trojan Horse-style agenda on things like banning music and [calling for] single-sex swimming,” said one of those who attended. Trojan Horse: There was no extremism in Birmingham schools, says teaching union chief
NASUWT boss Chris Keates says “corrupt” governors were exposed, but they did not have extreme religious views. Chris Keates, general secretary of the NASUWT The general secretary of teaching union NASUWT has claimed there has been no radicalisation or religious extremism in Birmingham’s Trojan Horse schools. Chris Keates, general secretary of Rednal-based union, has dismissed the findings of two independent reports and has written to the Education Secretary Nicky Morgan to complain about one penned by former anti-terror chief Peter Clarke. Mr Clarke, who led a Government-ordered probe into the Trojan Horse plot after five Birmingham schools were placed in special measures following snap Ofsted inspections, found “compelling evidence” of an attempt to “gain control” of some school governing bodies. He claimed his discoveries were the “tip of the iceberg” and the Government was “nowhere near” getting to the bottom of the issues. He also criticised both NASUWT and Birmingham City Council’s response to the scandal. But Mrs Keates criticised Mr Clarke, claiming he did not go “far enough” when carrying out his investigation. She said: “I thought he came with an agenda from government to find radicalisation and extremism and when I read the report I was certain he did. “I asked to see him and when I did he did not ask me any questions. “My concern was that the only people he spoke to were people with axes to grind. “Yes, there were particular members of a community behaving in the wrong way but I don’t believe it was radicalisation or extremism.” Mrs Keates said the government was at fault for giving free reign to academies to set their curriculum and operate outside of local authority control – four of the five schools at the heart of the Trojan Horse allegations are academies. “The government has given unprecedented autonomy to schools – particularly academies – and they have let them do what they want,” she said. “There are no longer any levers for compliance in place to allow local authorities to ensure legislation and policies are being practised and upheld. “Certain governors are taking advantage of that – not necessarily just Muslim governors. “If government legislation allows schools to choose to teach only Islam and they say it’s a free choice, then you can’t say it is an example of radicalisation.” She said that the scandal has exposed “corrupt” governors, but she does not believe they have extreme religious views. “Governors who use their own business connections or the school to further their own interests, that is corruption, it is nothing to do with being in a Muslim or Asian community,” she said. And she said she feared the scandal is still having an impact on Birmingham communities and teachers. “Birmingham has a proud history in the work it has done to be a fantastic and cohesive multi-culturual city, indeed celebrating those cultures,” she said. “The people of Birmingham are concerned that the city seems to have been used as a pawn in a much bigger game.” Mr Clarke has previously criticised Mrs Keates for failing to declare she was married to Birmingham City Council’s former cabinet member for education Les Lawrence while he was investigating Trojan Horse allegations. It has been reported that Mr Lawrence is also a former business partner of Tahir Alam, the chairman of governors at Park View School, which is at the centre of the Trojan Horse allegations. He also criticised NASUWT’s treatment of Balwant Bains, the head of Saltley School, who told the inquiry he was forced out of his job by Trojan Horse plotters. Mr Bains told Mr Clarke’s inquiry that he had not been properly supported by the union. It has been reported that the union wrote to Mr Bains threatening legal action unless he signed a statement clearing it of any blame in his case. Mrs Keates said: “Les left the council two years ago and Mr Clarke did not ask me any questions about my marital status.” She said it was “inappropriate” to discuss advice given to Mr Bains. Mr Clarke said politicians and senior officials denied all knowledge of the Trojan Horse allegations – until his team found an email which, he said, “showed they had known about it all along”. Describing Birmingham City Council’s conduct as “extraordinary”, he said Ian Kershaw – who led the council’s own Trojan Horse probe – also received similar denials from politicians and senior officials. Responding to Mr Clarke’s criticism of the council, a spokesman said: “Both Peter Clarke’s and Ian Kershaw’s full reports have been received, and both have fed into a strategic action plan which is being overseen by the Education Commissioner, Sir Mike Tomlinson. “The key points he wants the council to focus on are safeguarding in its schools, in the broadest sense, and to be on top of governance, with the sort of issues that have been raised in both reports. “We have already admitted we didn’t link the intelligence together correctly, but the time for looking past is gone. “Going forward we’re firmly focused on working towards delivering the improvements in a number of key areas such as strengthening governor appointments and training and our whistleblowing process and reporting, as well as continuing our work in reviewing our relationship with all schools. “It is our firm intention to work with the commissioner and implement a thorough response to ensure we respond to the findings of Mr Clarke’s inquiry.” A DfE spokesperson said: “Peter Clarke carried out a full and thorough report into Birmingham schools and set out clear evidence which identified how the actions of a small number of individuals in some schools represented a serious risk to the safeguarding of children and the quality of education being provided. “We will always investigate any evidence put to us and are taking decisive action to put things right. Birmingham (UK) school said to have sent 1million of public money to Pakistan is revealed to have 3million in debts
Al-Hijrah School in Birmingham in debt by almost £3million, council reveals It's alleged to have sent £1million to build sister establishment in Pakistan School has been in special measures since damning Ofsted report in 2013 Previous leadership failed to introduce a new national curriculum last year Pupils ate on floor so new staff had to spend £12,000 on tables and chairs | Updated: 15:08 EST, 7 February 2015 A troubled Islamic school which is alleged to have sent £1million of public money to construct a sister establishment in Pakistan is in debt to the tune of almost £3million, Birmingham City Council has revealed. New leadership was brought into Al-Hijrah School last year, after the council forced out the old governors and sacked its headteacher amid claims of financial irregularities and poor standard of education. The scale of the voluntary-aided school's financial woes have been laid bare by Birmingham City Council which said auditors now believed the school's estimated deficit by the end of this financial year would be 'in the region of over £3million'. It comes as a council inquiry continues into allegations £1million of public money sent to the Bordesley Green school found its way to funding construction of a school in Pakistan. Late last year, the new council-backed executive headteacher informed parents the taxpayer was shelling out £470,000 in rent and classroom hire costs just to keep the gates open. Al-Hijrah, described on its website as 'an Islamic school providing high quality education for 4-16-year-olds' has been in special measures after a damning Ofsted inspection in December 2013. In May last year, a Government-backed interim executive board (IEB) took over the running the school, and has been tackling what Ofsted recently called 'a number of financial irregularities' left over from the time of the previous regime. The council said the massive deficit is 'due to the financial situation we inherited'. It has also warned the figure is likely to grow because the council has 'a duty to improve the school environment and ensure the children have access to the resources they deserve'. While the liability is the school's, the deficit is included on the cash-strapped council's own balance sheet. It recently emerged in a letter from the then executive headteacher Graham Hardy that before the old school governors were pushed out, they had renegotiated the site lease from a peppercorn rate of £1 up to £300,000. Mr Hardy said the cash was payable annually to the Al-Hijrah Trust, which manages the site, and that 'the money is taken from the budget allocated by the local authority to employ teachers and provide resources'. The annual budget for running the school is £3million, which is Government money given to Al-Hijrah through the council. In his letter, Mr Hardy said the school buildings, which are still the Al-Hijrah Trust's responsibility to maintain, had several 'serious' issues including a leaking roof that could cost up to £500,000 to repair. He told parents the school was also having to pay £170,000-a-year for temporary on-site classrooms. It was only when the IEB gained access to the school last year, the scale of its problems became clear. The new leadership has since had to buy £12,000 of dining tables and chairs after finding pupils had been eating meals while sat on the floor. Parents were also told £32,177 had to be spent on pupil safeguarding, including secure external doors and working CCTV. Following a full structural survey of the site, a £16,000 electrical fault was uncovered, while engineers found 'serious issues' with the school's badly leaking roof, which could cost up to £500,000 to fix. Alongside its financial problems, the previous leadership team had failed to introduce a new national curriculum last year or appoint enough teachers. The school has since had to pay £15,000 towards new curriculum materials and training, including the hire of a consultant. A council spokesman said: 'The overall deficit, taking account of the overspending from the previous financial year is likely to be in excess of £3million. 'Further discussions will be taking place to determine cost implications for next year's budget. This is due to the financial situation we inherited. 'It will effectively add to the deficit but we obviously have a duty to improve the school environment and ensure the children have access to the resources they deserve." It added that the revised predicted deficit is based on 'all known outstanding commitments from previous and the current financial years', and includes a revenue liability of more than £600,000 rolled over from the year ending April 2014. Meanwhile, a separate inquiry into an allegation up to £1 million of public money sent to the trust running school, before its takeover, found its way to fund school construction in Pakistan is 'on-going'. 'Birmingham City Council has received a large amount of information regarding the financial status of the school and continues to work with other statutory agencies to identify how funds have been expended,' the spokesman said. The school was not linked to the Trojan Horse allegations which emerged in March, last year. read full article at source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ion-debts.html |

UK's Trojan pig school problem: 100 Islamist teachers face ban
Up to 100 Islamist teachers could be banned from schools after investigation into their links with Trojan Horse scandal found dozens claiming Lee Rigby’s murder was a hoax Teaching watchdog investigating some 100 staff with links to the scandal In some Birmingham schools, Islamic views forced on staff and pupils Alleged al-Qaeda style video with masked gunmen copied in a classroom Also claimed teachers punished children by making them kneel on tiles Staff members also alleged sent offensive messages in a WhatsApp group Messages claimed murder of Lee Rigby and Boston bombings were a hoax By Thomas Burrows for MailOnline Published: 10:08, 5 April 2015 | Up to 100 Islamic teachers could be banned from working in schools for life following an investigation into their alleged links to the Trojan Horse scandal. It is understood a teaching watchdog is working on possible disciplinary cases against current and former staff members at some schools in Birmingham where extremist Islamic views were being forced on pupils and staff. This includes allegations an al-Qaeda style video featuring masked gunmen was copied in a classroom and teachers punished pupils by making them kneel on tiles. More than 50 teachers – called the Park View Brotherhood – also alleged exchanged as many as 3,000 messages in a WhatsApp group which included offensive comments about British soldiers and claimed the murder of soldier Lee Rigby was a hoax. Park View School in Birmingham was one of the schools placed in special measures after inspectors found systemic failings in safeguarding pupils against extremism – up to 100 teachers are now being investigated It is understood the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) – the profession’s watchdog responsible for banning teachers from classrooms – is looking at 30 disciplinary cases, with an expectation many more teachers will be targeted for their part in the affair. The probe into the Islamic plot last year found evidence of anti-Western rhetoric, intolerance towards gays and creating the perception of a worldwide conspiracy against Muslims. Golden Hillock School, Nansen Primary School, Park View School – all run by the Park View Educational Trust – Oldknow Academy and Saltley School in Birmingham were placed in special measures after inspectors found systemic failings in safeguarding pupils against extremism. Another school investigated, Alston Primary, was already in special measures. Allegations under investigation include claims that an al-Qaeda style video was copied at Park View Academy and teachers punished children by making them kneel on the floor, the Sunday Times reports. A group of teachers – called the Park View Brotherhood – also alleged exchanged messages in a WhatsApp group where they claimed the murder of soldier Lee Rigby and the Boston bombings, where two bombs were set off at the finish line of the city’s marathon, were a hoax. Professional hearings are set to begin next month. More than 50 teachers alleged exchanged messages in a WhatsApp group which included offensive comments about British soldiers and claimed the murder of soldier Lee Rigby in Woolwich, was a hoax. In his report, Peter Clarke (pictured) found there had been a ‘coordinated, deliberate and sustained action’ to introduce an aggressive Islamic ethos in the schools The teaching watchdog has obtained ‘dossiers’ about some of the 100 staff it is investigating from the Department for Education as part of its inquiries. They are understood to include information from last year’s Trojan Horse probe headed by Peter Clarke, the former head of counterterrorism at Scotland Yard. His report, published in July, found there had been a ‘co-ordinated, deliberate and sustained action, carried out by a number of associated individuals, to introduce an intolerant and aggressive Islamic ethos into a few schools in Birmingham’. It also highlighted a ‘disconcerting pattern’ in the schools, including nepotism in staff appointments, bullying of senior teachers, a ‘strategy of harassment to oust the head teacher’ and the ‘reinforcement of Muslim identity to the exclusion or disparagement of others’. A source told the Sunday Times: ‘The 100 or so include teachers, teaching assistants and teaching staff. The Department for Education is feeding in information to help corroborate some of what the NCTL has, and, in other cases, flag up new targets.’ ‘In some cases, some of those teachers and staff are still working at schools, and in other cases they have been removed. ‘But although some of them have been removed, the NCTL does not want them to end up anywhere else.’ Enter your email address to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Who would have thought that instead of having tea and scones and playing croquet the Muslims would simply recreate another craphole of a country like Pakistan in England?
