Orrin Hatch Joins The War Against Christmas

Who knew that Orrin Hatch was a part-time songwriter? He’s apparently been putting out music with the Church of Latter Day Saints since he was a young man, and one song (”Heal Our Land”) was even performed at George W. Bush’s inauguration in 2005.

But my own personal favorite is the song Hatch wrote about the late Ted Kennedy after his death this summer (“Headed Home”).

Now, as if to coincide with Tom Piatak’s fine VDARE.com piece on Hanukah, Sen. Hatch has just released “The Eight Days of Hanukah.”

The Boston Globe praised the song as a “winning statement about the spirit of pluralism” and a “triumph of multiculturalism.”

Actually, “The Eight Days of Hanukah” is clearly meant to compete with the traditional carol “The 12 Days of Christmas.”

Oddly enough I've always had a certain respect for the Orthodox Church, Russian and Greek. I remember in 1962, when the jews managed to destroy the Roman Church, the confusion it brought about among Catholics. Many did as my family did, and just stopped attending Mass. More than a few, though I didn't know any at the time, converted to Orthodox.

I lived with a Greek Orthodox woman for a few years, about a decade ago. I've been to many Orthodox Masses and if you are going to do it, their way is the way to do it. In comparison, attending my Roman Catholic Parish is like going to Walmart.

Strange how one of the protesters is holding the Russian 1858 flag alongside the Orthodox priest. The nationalist movements throughout Eastern Europe are definitely nodding their heads towards the Russian nationalists.

They're not only Russians, they're mixed with Romanians. I'm glad to see this the most. Romanians and Russians in Moldova are disunited and this is a really rare sight.

The menorah is a symbol of jewish hate. It is on the "coat-of-arms" of IsraHell, the same "nation" that has ethnically cleansed their lands of Palestinians.

After the way Eastern Europe was treated by the jew-dominated "Soviet Union" after WWII, I can understand why they would fly an Imperial Russian flag. Back then the jews were put in their place, until they rose up and took over Russia in 1917.

NEW YORK (EJP)---The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) urged the government of Moldova and the leadership of the Orthodox Church to punish those responsible for uprooting a Hanukkah menorah on a main public square in Chsisinau, Moldova’s capital, and replacing it with an Orthodox cross.

A video showed an Orthodox priest, identified by the Moldovan media as Fr. Anatoliy Chirbik, leading a demonstration of about 100 people Sunday at Stefan the Great Square and saying: “We are an Orthodox country. Stephan the Great defended our country from all kinds of kikes, and now they come and put their menorah here. This is anarchy.”

The priest and demonstrators then uprooted the menorah and dumped it behind a statue of Moldovan national hero King Stefan the Great.

“The Moldovan government and the Orthodox Church must punish the perpetrators of this despicable anti-Semitic crime and send a clear signal to Moldovan society and to the Jewish community that the government and the church will not tolerate anti-Semitism,” said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL’s national director.

In a letter to Moldova’s Ambassador to the United States, Nicolae Chirtoaca, called on his government “to apprehend and punish the perpetrators of this anti-Semitic crime.”

The League said it was particularly shocked at reports that 15 to 20 police officers were at the site during the protest, but did little to intervene.

ADL also expressed disappointment with the official statement from leaders of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, who called the attack “a sad event.”

“The church needs to make clear that this sort of behavior is unacceptable, and should take action to punish any church officials who were involved in organizing the demonstration, including Fr. Chirbik,” Foxman said.

Moldova’’s Justice Minister Alexandru Tenase was quoted by Publik TV as saying the government would not tolerate the desecration of religious objects and “will apply the harshest penalties to discourage anyone attempting similar actions.”

The Hanukkah menorah, which was erected by members of the local Jewish community, was reinstalled and is now under police protection.
