An interesting take on the Kosovo "crisis" by Webster Griffin Tarpley.

Brzezinski Seizing Control
Over US Policy In
Slow-Motion Coup
By Webster G. Tarpley
2-23-8

WASHINGTON DC -- Events of the past few days indicate that the Zbigniew Brzezinski faction of lunatic Russia haters have now won the upper hand inside the secret councils of the Anglo-American finance oligarchy, displacing the hitherto dominant George Shultz-neocon faction. Although George Bush and his cronies still occupy the White House, the policies that are being carried out are coming from the Brzezinski left CIA machine. Brzezinski has returned to public prominence in recent months due to his role as top establishment controller for the Obama campaign. But Brzezinski is not waiting for the outcome of the November elections to take over key parts of the US government. Brzezinski and his left CIA allies are already moving to assert their strategy, even as the neocons and their characteristic obsessions are moved to the back burner. The probability of an attack on Iran or Syria is declining, even as the danger of confrontation with Russia, China, and Pakistan * all much more dangerous targets to trifle with * increases exponentially.

1. KOSOVO - The independence of Kosovo has opened a new crisis front in Eastern Europe, with the potential for very nasty complications in regard to Russia. This is the essence of the Brzezinski anti-Russian policy. Kosovo independence is of course a flagrant violation of all existing norms of international law, most notably the Helsinki CSCE treaty of 1975 which finally put an end to World War II by declaring that all borders in Europe were to be considered final unless and until any changes had been agreed through mutual consultation of the interested parties. Since the Serbian government in Belgrade is vehemently opposed to Kosovo independence, the unilateral actions of the US, British, and NATO are the very essence of international anarchy. The new regime in Kosovo goes far beyond the usual kleptocracy of NATO puppets favored by Brzezinski and his circles. The new regime in Kosovo is essentially the terrorist KLA, an organization devoted to gun-running, drug-running, and trafficking in human slaves. The KLA is a Balkan version of Al Qaeda, and both are wholly owned creations of the CIA and British intelligence. With Kosovo independence, the US, British, and NATO stand ready to use armed force to defend the right of a terrorist gang to assert sovereignty over a segment of modern Europe. The criminal obscenity of this policy could hardly be greater, but for Brzezinski all methods are legitimate provided that they increase tension with Moscow, and in that respect Kosovo independence is already a glowing success.

2. US EMBASSY, BELGRADE - The attack on the US embassy in Belgrade, Serbia by gangs of drunken students is a classic Brzezinski operation. The tactic of having an incensed rent-a-mob of swarming adolescent patsies attack the US Embassy in order to gin up a crisis is one of Zbigniew's signature specialties. During the time that Brzezinski was running the foreign policy of Trilateral puppet Jimmy Carter, there were bloody attacks on the US embassies in Pakistan and in Afghanistan, both countries that featured prominently in Brzezinski's arc of crisis theory. Most famous of all was of course the attack on the US embassy in Teheran, Iran, which led to the taking of hostages and the huge international crisis which helped to doom the Carter administration to extinction at the polls. If US diplomats or State Department personnel are taken hostage anywhere in the world in the weeks and months to come, this must be attributed to Brzezinski.

3. SPACE WARFARE - The shooting down by the Pentagon of a US satellite over the Pacific is a very provocative military stunt designed to intimidate both Moscow and Beijing, who happened to be Brzezinski's immediate targets. This reckless and irresponsible action has raised the specter of an uncontrolled arms race reaching into outer space.

4. SYRIA - Zbigniew Brzezinski himself, fresh from addressing a retreat of House Democrats in Williamsburg Virginia, is now in Syria at the head of a RAND Corporation delegation. The purpose of this mission should not be construed as peace in the Middle East, although some foolish observers may read it in that way. Brzezinski's goal is immediately to lessen Russian influence in Syria, including the closing of certain naval facilities that the Russian navy has maintained in that country. In the longer run, Brzezinski would like to turn both Syria and Iran into components of the ring he means to forge around Russia for the purpose of the strategic encirclement of that rival superpower. Zbigniew's argument against the neocons is, why attack Iran and Syria, when you can turn them into kamikaze stooges, play them against Russia, and get rid of all of them that way? Europe and China are destined to play similar anti-Russian roles in Brzezinski's playbook.

5. BUSH IN AFRICA - President Bush may not know what he is doing on his current visit to five African countries, but Zbigniew Brzezinski knows exactly what the mission is. The Brzezinski policy is to foment destabilization and chaos in Africa under the auspices of the new United States African command (US-AFRICOM), all for the purpose of driving the Chinese out of Africa. As Zbigniew announced on November 30, 2007 in the Washington Post, he intends to cut off Chinese access to oil, other energy sources, and strategic raw materials on the African continent. Since the Anglo-Americans control the Persian Gulf by direct military occupation, this is tantamount to a policy of driving the Chinese in on Eastern Siberia. Brzezinski believes that if the Chinese cannot get their oil from Africa, they will be forced to attempt the military seizure of Russia's oil wells in the Far East, where there is much oil and very few Russians. Both Moscow and Beijing know exactly what Brzezinski is doing in this regard. This is the kind of harebrained scheming by Lord Astor, Lady Astor and Sir Neville Chamberlain which helped to bring about World War II. The idea then was to play Hitler against Stalin and get rid of both of them that way. When that blew up in the faces of the British, the result was World War II. This time, it may well be thermonuclear World War III.

Keeping track of all the Zionist handy work that has taken place in the Balkans has always been a work out, glad Duke covered it so thoroughly this week, more on the origins of this conflict from the late great Dr. William Pierce below:

American Embassy Stormed in Serbia: Why are We Surprised?

By David Duke

No American, and I am no exception, can be happy to see an American embassy attacked and set on fire, the American flag ripped down and almost an entire nation hating the U.S. and the American people with every fiber of the their being.

But, looking at American history in Serbia, what exactly should we expect? Serbia has never been an enemy of the United States yet we have committed acts of war and terrorism against it. We have dispatched armies and invaded it, dropped bombs on civilian targets such as bridges, office buildings and power plants, and we have dictated what Serbia does within its own nation.

The present realities of Serbia and of Kosovo are the process of a long historical conflict. Kosovo is an ancient Serbian heartland that was conquered by the Muslim Ottoman Empire with the collusion of Muslim ethnic Albanians. Historical realities of the age old conflict can be reflected in the genocidal statements of the Prime Minister of Albania made in Kosovo in June 1942. At a meeting of Albanian leaders of Kosovo he said,
“We should endeavor to ensure that the Serb population of Kosovo be – the area be cleansed of them and all Serbs who had been living there for centuries should be termed colonialists and sent to concentration camps in Albania. The Serb settlers should be killed.” (Bogdanović, Dimitrije. “The Book on Kosovo”. 1990. Belgrade: Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, 1985. page 2428. and Genfer, Der Kosovo-Konflikt, Munich: Wieser, 2000. page 158.)
Indeed, Christian Orthodox Serbians have been relentlessly killed, suppressed and cleansed since the time of the Turkish Ottomans. The ethnic genocide of the Serbians by Turks and their mostly Islamic Albanian allies along with a state-sponsored mass migration of Albanians into Kosovo enabled their present day majority.

In the 1990s the conflict came to a head with ethnic attacks against Serbians rising to a fever pitch along with calls for Independence. The nation then known as Yugoslavia struggled against this separatist movement and a radical guerrilla war against Serbians began in earnest by the KLA, The Kosovo Liberation Army.

It is not America’s business to decide anything about another country halfway around the world. But the cadre of Jewish globalists who control American foreign policy decided that Serbia had to buckle down to what President Bush, Sr. once described as the “New World Order.” Serbia was not in the orbit of the New World Order’s agenda, so the globalists aided and supported in every way possible the KLA guerrillas while at the same time decrying its “excesses.” Who were these globalists behind the American war on Serbia? The war’s architects are listed by Reason Magazine in the May 2004 edition in an article written after the first year of the Iraq War, called “Temporary Doves” . In it Matt Welsh those who he describes as the “architects of Kosovo.”
Temporary Doves, from Reason Magazine May 2004 –Matt Welch
So it is of pressing interest to see what the architects of Kosovo, and its predecessor campaign in Bosnia, have to say about Bush’s controversial war. As luck would have it, there are recent books from three key Yugoslavia warriors: Madeleine Albright, the Munich-haunted Czechoslovak émigré who was the most influential anti-Milosevic hawk in Clinton’s cabinet; George Soros, the Munich-haunted Hungarian émigré and billionaire philanthropist who was among the earliest and most influential nongovernmental voices to urge military action against Serb nationalists; and Wesley Clark, the retired supreme allied commander of NATO who directed the Kosovo War.
What the article did not mention is that Madeline Albright, George Soros and even Wesley Clark are all committed Jewish supremacists. Although few Americans were even aware of it, even a man thought of as a Gentile, Wesley Clark, hailed from a “long-line of rabbis who were of the Cohen priest class.
Wesley Clark’s Jewish Roots
Ron Kampeas Special to the Jewish Times
SEPTEMBER 18, 2003 Washington
…Wesley Clark knew just what to say when he strode into a Brooklyn yeshiva in 1999, ostensibly to discuss his leadership of NATO’s victory in Yugoslavia.
“I feel a tremendous amount in common with you,” the uniformed four-star general told the stunned roomful of students. “I am the oldest son, of the oldest son, of the oldest son — at least five generations, and they were all rabbis.”
…Apparently Clark, 58, revels in his Jewish roots.
He told The Jewish Week in New York, which first reported the yeshiva comment in 1999, that his ancestors were not just Jews, but members of the priestly caste of Kohens.
The “national security” apparatus of the Clinton administration was so Jewish it should have been labeled Israel’s National Security team. In fact the major Israeli newspaper, Maariv ran a story called “The Jews Who Run Clinton’s Court” on September 2, 1994, in which it boasted of the dominant Jewish makeup of Clinton’s advisers and cabinet. It quotes a prominent Washington rabbi to the effect that the government of the United States is no longer a government of Gentiles. It bears repeating:

The U.S. has no longer a government of goyim [Gentiles], but an administration in which the Jews are full partners in the decision making at all levels. Perhaps the aspects of the Jewish religious law connected with the term ‘government of goyim’ should be re-examined, since it is an outdated term in the U.S.
The article boasts of their complete domination of the administration, and describes many top officials around the president, especially in national security and foreign policy as “warm Jews” upon whom Jews can always count to advance the Jewish agenda.
In the National Security Council, 7 out of 11 top staffers are Jews. Clinton had especially placed them in the most sensitive junctions in the U.S. security and foreign administrations: Sandy Berger is the deputy chairman of the council; Martin Indyk, the intended ambassador to Israel, is a senior director in charge of the Middle East and South Asia; Dan Schifter, the senior director and adviser to the president, is in charge of Western Europe;…
When warfare broke out in the mid 1990s between the Serbians under Milošević and the revolutionary Albanians in the Serbian province of Kosovo. Immediately the Jewish-influenced U.S. sided with Kosovo and waged a violent, yet undeclared war with Serbia. America’s Jewish foreign policy bosses then influenced Britain and ultimately NATO to go to war against Serbia.

An overwhelming, high tech American military force attacked not only the Serbian military forces within Kosovo and Serbia, but even bombed the civilian infrastructure throughout the nation of Serbia. City Bridges and power stations, civilian trains, and civilian buildings were bombed all over the country, even in the Serbian capitol of Belgrade. Such Bombings are routinely described by the Jewish media as terrorism when done by opponents of American policy, but when America does it, it is called “peace-keeping operations.” At the time it occurred I wrote about how sick to the stomach I felt seeing American bombs falling on a European capitol.

Imagine for a moment if the overwhelming Black majority in Washington, DC decided to break away from the United States and begun terrorist attacks and military operations to achieve that aim. Say the U.S. government moved to militarily block the revolt but a militarily superior nation halfway around the world then began to bomb New York and New Orleans and Los Angeles in support of the rebels. How would Americans feel about that nation? Perhaps in that light an American can begin to understand Serbian feelings toward us.

There a dozens of ethnic and religious wars within and between nations all over the world. America has no business taking sides and being involved in any of them. It is not our business nor in our real interests to do so.

Ironically, while we get involved in the terrible ethnic struggles around the world, America’s controllers are waging a self-destructive immigration policy that is relentlessly producing a multi-ethnic society which will inevitably produce the same dynamics of hate and violence that exist in so many nations with sizable ethnic and religious minorities. Ethnic conflicts are the primary source of wars and terrorism in the world, yet by allowing our borders to be open to massive legal and illegal immigration of non-Europeans the Jewish leadership of open immigration movements (read my articles on the supreme Jewish role in the open borders movement) are sewing the seeds of our own future conflict, of increased hatred and violence in the United States. In fact, the Jewish supremacists support massive non-European immigration as part of their ethnic “divide and conquer” policy in America just as they use divide and conquer today against Serbia and Russia.

Stephen Steinlight, the former head of National Policy for the largest Jewish organization in the United States, the American Jewish Committee put it very succinctly in an article for his fellow Jews,

For perhaps another generation, an optimistic forecast, the Jewish community is thus in a position where it will be able to divide and conquer and enter into selective coalitions that support our agenda. (see the entire quote and source in My Awakening and Jewish Supremacism)
You often hear from conservatives, “My country right or wrong.”

Yes, we love our country and our people whether they are right or wrong, but true patriots demand that our nation be right, not wrong. We demand that our nation truly acts in the interests of the American people, not in the interest of any foreign power or loyalty. Today, the most powerful foreign influence is Zionism and Jewish supremacism,, whether in serving Jewish economic and financial interests around the world or in putting Israel’s strategic interests in the Mideast or elsewhere over that of the United States.

America has become the enforcer of the Jewish-extremist agenda worldwide. Whether one speaks of the U.S. blackmailing of Switzerland to cave into the Holocaust bank extortion, American policy makers defending the Jewish Mafia, Oligarch robber barons in Russia, or the U.S. going to war against Iraq for Israel, or American support for Israel’s murderous invasions of Lebanon, or the planned Jewish Neocon war against Iran, America is thoroughly under the thumb of the Jewish supremacists.

They are initiating a new cold war and taking aggressive steps against Russia as evidenced by the placing of nuclear missiles on Russia’s doorstep because post-communist Russia is not fully under their control and blocks their control of the U.N. Security Council.

We have seen this process in other Eastern European nations who have emerged from the grip of Communism. The price Eastern European nations must pay for America’s support is their support for America’s war for Israel s in Iraq, and support for the Jewish-American agenda in the U.N. Jewish extremists have even used their power over NATO and the EU to blackmail Eastern European nations to make laws to imprison critics of Zionism as a precondition for membership, all in the name of fighting “anti-Semitism,” of course.

Here are some excerpts from two articles dealing with the issue:

As NATO Meeting Approaches, Light Shines on Handling of Jewish Issues
By Adam B. Ellick
NEW YORK (JTA) — Later this month, seven nations will clear a crucial hurdle toward full membership in NATO.
But as they embrace a military alliance that seemed unimaginable during the Soviet era, these nations — Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia — will remain under close scrutiny to ensure they follow through on promises regarding “value issues,” including how they handle Jewish affairs. JTA - 11.05.2002

Bush Wages Unsung Battle Against Global Anti-Semitism
By: Martin Tolchin and Susan Tolchin
March 12, 2007 08:04 AM EST
…The White House required East European nations that sought to join NATO to offer concrete proposals to combat anti-Semitism in their countries. “I have to give a lot of credit to the Bush administration,” said Rabbi Andrew Baker, director of international Jewish affairs at the American Jewish Committee. “A major decision in NATO enlargement has been dealing with Jewish issues. The U.S. has repeatedly raised these issues.”

Because they control American policy and the military might of America, they seek an American empire overseas as an extension of their power. This empire does not serve the interests of the American people in any way. It costs trillions of dollars and only makes enemies of half the world to the United States. Our Jewish-extremist controlled foreign policy in supporting Israeli crimes against Palestine resulted directly in tragedy of the 9-11 attacks.

Jewish supremacists lead and control the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Federal Reserve, and are able to use these instruments to force nations to support Israel’s interests in the UN and in other international bodies.

They have gotten America involved in the internal affairs of Serbia in order to weaken a nation where Zionists have little influence, while at the same time make newly independent nations such as Kosovo, nations that must be completely dependent on U.S. military support and the thus dependent on the Jewish powerbrokers.

I do not believe in my nation right or wrong.

I believe that my nation should be right.

I believe that my nation must act for the true interests of the American people and not some powerful, extremist minority.

I believe that if America is free from the un-American influence over our American government and media, not only will the American people be free and much better off, but the world will be so as well.

It hurts my heart to see the American embassy be attacked and burned, the American flag being driven down to the mud.

It hurts even more to know that this has occurred because our great nation now embarks on policies against the best interests of the American people and against the best interests of many peoples around the world.

Let’s change America. Change is not simply to have a new set of Jewish-extremist advisers echoing Clinton’s years, nor should it be Obama’s international team headed by Dennis Ross, the same Jewish Supremacist who sabotaged the Israeli-Palestinian peace conference. Change will surely not come from the old set of Jewish extremists as evidenced by McCain’s carryover of the Bush, Israeli-First team.

Change can only come from Americans in all walks of life, in business, media, academia and government rising in a new consensus and demanding that America have the independence our forefathers fought, bled and died to win, an American government dedicated to the American people and not to any foreign power.

Let’s bring this truth to every American. Now.

The national interests of the United States are not served by bombing Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia is a sovereign nation and should be allowed to govern its internal affairs as it sees fit. The idea that the United States is "saving lives" by the bombing is especially ludicrous. Also fallacious is that the idea is that the United States is concerned about how a nation treats its ethnic minorities. The Turks mistreat the Kurds, the Israelis mistreat the Palestinians, and many African nations are in continuous ethnic turmoil, but we are not bombing them. The only reason the United States is unhappy with Yugoslavia is that Yugoslavia is a European country which does not want to follow the directives of the United Nations and join the New World Order crowd.

Violence mars pro-Karadzic rally

At least 10,000 supporters of the former Bosnian Serb leader, Radovan Karadzic, have demonstrated in Belgrade to protest at his arrest.

Clashes broke out between police and small groups of protesters during the final speeches at the rally organised by the nationalist Radical Party.

Several people were injured as riot police fired tear gas at protesters armed with rocks and burning flares.

Mr Karadzic is expected to be sent to the war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

He was arrested in Belgrade a week ago after 13 years on the run.

The rally in Serbia's capital was the first mass demonstration since Mr Karadzic's arrest.

One eyewitness, Henry Langston, told the BBC that the rioters, mainly young people, attacked police with metal poles, dustbins, anything they could get their hands on.

Police used rubber bullets and tear gas after about 100 protesters tried to breach a security cordon. A number of protesters and policemen were reported hurt

Three K. Serbs released from custody

17 December 2009 | 12:01 | Source: B92, Beta

PRIŠTINA -- The EULEX District Court in Priština released three Serbs from the municipality of Novo Brdo from custody on Wednesday.

Slobodan and Srećko Martinović and Svetlana Stojanović were arrested on September 24 and accused of committing war crimes.

The charges against them state that the three "from April 17 until April 22, 1999, subjected [ethic Albanians] Seljatin Beciri and Acif Demoli to serious suffering and injuries, and implemented measures of intimidation and terror by capturing the plaintiffs and beating them".

Beta news agency explained in its report from Priština that the three Serbs will now have to report to the local police station twice a month for a month, while this measure could be extended at the prosecution's request.

Their lawyer, Miodrag Brkljač, said that his clients were also ordered "not to approach Beciri and Demoli, or the witnesses who gave their statements thus far", and also not to leave their places of residence.

According to Brkljač, Prosecutor Emanuela Dukos did not collect any viable evidence against the three, other than the testimony from Beciri, who was the only one to directly incriminate them.

Quote:
TANJUG or TANK?

Starting off the new year is this interesting news item:

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo on Tuesday passed a regulation which prohibits the movement in the province of vehicles with new Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP) license plates inscribed with the first letters of the Kosovo cities on them.

The license plates are being issued by MUP since the beginning of 2011, and the regulation was issued by outgoing Interior Minister of Kosovo Bajram Redzepi."

If you thought this originated somewhere in the self-proclaimed "Republic of Kosovo," you would be wrong, however. The source of this story is the Serbian state news agency, Tanjug.

That, by the way, should be written TANJUG, as it stands for "Telegraphic Agency of the New JUGoslavia." With Yugoslavia gone the way of the telegraph, some may question the reason for Tanjug's continued existence. But how then, I ask you, would the Serbian public be brainwashed into accepting the "Republic of Kosovo" as an actual state?

Over the past 15 years or so, I've become intimately acquainted with the Western news media. There is nothing inherently evil about the inverted-pyramid structure of the news story; it does precisely what it was designed to do, leading with the important information and providing the details later. The real trick is choosing the words and phrases to plug into the template. Search engines are a wonderful thing. They can show us how many ostensibly independent and separate news outlets have used the exact same, or sufficiently similar, phrases to describe an event or persons involved, often indicating that the original phrasing came from the same source.

Words have power. Compare the effects of calling someone a "war criminal" or "war crimes indictee" with a more accurate (but oh-so-not-demonizing) "defendant" or "suspect." Designated victims are never "breakaways" or "rebels" - those terms are reserved for the designated enemies. By calling the Muslims of Bosnia "Bosnians" and the Albanians "Kosovars," the Anglophone media have deliberately endorsed these groups' claim to the territories in question. One famous example of how deep this deception went was the 1990s argument that the US should have bombed the Serbs "as soon as they crossed the border" of Bosnia. Given that the Serb presence in Bosnia dates back to the first mention of the word "Bosnia" in recorded history, the US would have needed a time machine for the task...

Long story short, by using the terms such as "Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo" and recognizing Rexhepi as a government official, Tanjug is implicitly recognizing the legitimacy of the state declared by the Albanians in the occupied Serbian province. As is the Serbian Secretary for Kosovo-Metohija Oliver Ivanovic, whom the article quotes describing Rexhepi as an "outgoing minister who now holds his mandate only in technical terms.”

No, Oliver, he has no mandate, and no legitimacy, because he represents an illegal government, illegally proclaimed on Serbian territory. But, hey, I hear logic is hard...

I find it ironic that the Albanians often blast the handful of Westerners who dare question their claims as "Serb propagandists" who "repeat Tanjug lies". Yet here is Tanjug, taking their "Republic of Kosova" at face value, giving their "officials" respect and stature they in no way deserve. Some "Serbian propaganda," that. They ought to be called TANK ("Telegraph Agency of New Kosovia") instead.

As the old saying goes, the fish rots from the head. Not only is the Tanjug story unacceptable from the standpoint of its official mission - it is a state news agency, after all - it is also sloppy and poorly written. This sort of incompetence is merely a symptom of the general collapse of all standards of professionalism, ethics and decency under the quisling regimes installed in Serbia since the October 2000 coup, and this latest one in particular.

Merely overcoming the two decades of Western media demonization, or the consequences of blockade and war, is a gargantuan task. But the Serbs also have to deal with decades of destructive social engineering that have poisoned almost all aspects of their society. The idiotic behavior of Tanjug is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Bear in mind, however, that Serbia is not the Titanic...

RF Council condemns violence against Serbs

Source: Tanjug

MOSCOW -- Russia's Federation Council, parliament’s upper house, condemned on Thursday the violence which the international forces used against Serbs.

The Council stressed that their behavior was an excellent example of double standards, Itar Tass has reported.

Russian Federation Council First Deputy Chairman Aleksandr Torshin said that the KFOR troops, who have the UN mandate to protect civilians, were acting as if they were punitive units.

“Russia expresses solidarity with the Serbian brothers and strongly condemns totally unjustified violence against civilians,” said Torshin, commenting on the situation in the village of Jagnjenica in northern Kosovo, where the KFOR troops started removing the barricades Thursday morning.

According to him, Serbs' guilt lies in being stripped of their motherland by force.

“KFOR Commander General Erhard Drews gave Serbs an ultimatum to remove the barricades, without warning them of possible consequences,” Torshin pointed out, adding that tear gas, armored vehicles and rubber bullets were used against civilians.

The Russian official also voiced his dissatisfaction over the fact that the NATO representatives qualified KFOR's current actions as “self-defense”.

“That is another excellent example of double standards which are being enforced by the states that are teaching others about democracy,” he told Itar Tass.

“They speak about necessity of the cooperation with the European Court of Human Rights, while at the same time they allow themselves such punitive actions against civilians who are lacking the promised international protection, and therefore trying to protect their rights and freedoms in some way,” Torshin concluded.

At least a thousand Serbs and Nato soldiers in riot gear remain in a face off on the Kosovo border. Troops tried overnight to remove barricades formed from vehicles, rocks, mud and logs, but were prevented by Serbs guarding the blockade. Minor tussles were reported but nobody was injured. That comes just days after KFOR soldiers resorted to tear gas and pepper spray to disperse the crowd near the troubled border.

Albania readies for annexation of Kosovo

October 24, 2011 – 8:06 am

Albania and Kosovo separatists have agreed to merge their respective “consular” services in their respective “embassies”.

“Albanians have to feel the same in Tirana as in Pristina,” said Albania’s Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

The decision to merge the “consular” services was made on October 20.

Berisha said that customs, culture and education will also be merged, allegedly to save money and avoid duplication.

“We must strengthen the relationship with joint judicial framework and a joint judicial practice with which we will lessen bureaucratic obstacles between Albania and Kosovo,” said Berisha.

NATO, of course, is mute on this, de facto annexation of Kosovo by Albania which was the plan all along.

The article is quite interesting.

Zbigniew Brzezinski like his close friend and former partner in crime Maggie Thatcher is a an extreme Rusophobe. I remember him back during the Bosnian war when he was calling for the complete annihilation of the Bosnian Serbs and even Serbia. He is of the opinion that the Islamic world and ZOG need to unite against Russia and Serbia. He uses conflicts like Chechnya and Kosovo to push his political agenda which is a one world government.
These people are extremely dangerous.

Bosnia's Problem
Itself

by Nebojsa Malic

A fascinating media phenomenon could be observed last week, following the arrest of Radovan Karadzic, wartime leader of the Bosnian Serbs. Anyone who was even tangentially involved in the 1990s events in Bosnia rushed forth to offer their thoughts; ex-diplomats and politicians, journalists and commentators used Karadzic's capture as an opportunity to remind the world not so much of the tragedy of Bosnia, but of their role in it. For all of their talk about the "Bosnian victims" and humanitarian compassion and "bombs for peace," the braying choir of self-righteous phonies made it obvious it was all about them. Everyone who had, in Chris Deliso's immortal phrase, invested heavily in the Bank of Collective Serbian Guilt, showed up to claim a dividend.

Politics of Fear

The most facetious displays of self-aggrandizement dressed themselves up in the cloak of concern. It did not take long for the BBC, for example, to claim that Karadzic's arrest "casts a shadow over Bosnia's fate." Even though just last week it was argued that the Inquisition's capture of the Bosnian Serb leader was a "triumph" over nationalism, it has all of a sudden become a boost to the nationalists!

An exemplary prophet of gloom was Paddy Ashdown. This former viceroy of Bosnia claimed on the pages of the Observer on Sunday that "there is a real threat of Bosnia breaking up again." He pointed the finger squarely at the Serb Republic ("Karadzic's creation") and its Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik, charging him with "aggressively reversing a decade of reforms." Said Ashdown:

"He has set up the parallel institutions and sent delegations to Montenegro to find out how they broke away. He has used the autonomy granted by the Dayton Agreement to undermine the Bosnia Dayton envisaged."

Those who know Bosnia, of course, find it hard to take baronet Norton-sub-Hamdon seriously. These are the exact same things he used to say when he ruled Bosnia (2002-2006) as a personal fiefdom, serving as the living embodiment of Lord Acton's dictum. He was wrong then, and he is wrong now.

Dayton, Revised

What sort of Bosnia was envisioned at Dayton, exactly? The agreement achieved at the U.S. airbase in Ohio in November 1995 ended the civil war by establishing a loose federation between the Serb Republic and the Muslim-Croat "Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina," with a minimal central government granted strictly limited powers. An international envoy, called "High Representative," was appointed to oversee the agreement's implementation.

However, in 1997 the "Peace Implementation Council" – composed of Western countries that backed the Dayton agreement – expanded the authority of the HR, making him a de facto dictator of the country. These "Bonn powers" were subsequently used to summarily dismiss elected officials, impose laws, change boundaries, create new entities (Brcko District), and effect "reforms" in the name of Dayton – even though the Dayton Constitution never actually authorized any of this. Then again, when has a "goddamn piece of paper," be it the one from Philadelphia or the one from Ohio, ever stopped those that crave power?

Further complicating things was that the warring factions in Bosnia perceived Dayton differently. For the country's Serbs and Croats, it was the vindication of their wartime goal to secure territorial autonomy and protection from Muslim domination. For many Muslims, however, it was a temporary setback to the dream of a centralized, unified state they could dominate through superior numbers. Fighting may have ended in 1995, but the subsequent Bosnian politics was, to paraphrase Clausewitz, war by other means. Efforts to centralize Bosnia under the viceroys inevitably played into the hands of Muslim nationalists, even as Serb and Croat nationalists were blamed for all the ills that still plagued the country.

Ashdown talks about how Dodik's actions go against the "Bosnia Dayton envisaged." Even a cursory reading of the actual agreement, though, is enough to conclude precisely the opposite. It was in fact the succession of viceroys that claimed to pursue the "spirit" of Dayton, contrary to its letter. The protesting Serbs and Croats were simply told, "I am altering the deal; pray I do not alter it further."

The Better Half

Just a day after Ashdown's article in the Observer, however, an unlikely rebuttal appeared. Writing on the Guardian's online op-ed board, Ian Bancroft argued that "Ashdown's scaremongering about [Bosnia's] future misses the real reasons for the state's fragility":

"From the fiscal frailty of [the Federation] to persistent discord amongst Bosnia's Croats, the country is beset by a number of other structural vulnerabilities that cannot be blamed on the country's Serbs."

While the government of Milorad Dodik that Ashdown so reviles has actually made the Serb Republic more prosperous and business-friendly, the Federation is almost broke. As Dodik himself described it to the Belgrade daily Politika this past weekend,

"The Serb Republic has a budget surplus; we have 1.3 million marks (650,000 Euros) in just the development fund… Our public spending is 36.7%... Our GDP is rising by 8% this year. In the Federation, their public spending is 63%, and their taxes are much higher. Our income taxes are 48%, and in the Federation they are 61%. Our corporate tax is 10%, compared to 30% in the Federation… We are the better half of Bosnia – why else would 427 companies from the Federation transfer their headquarters here, and become our taxpayers? Croat politicians dismiss the Federation as ‘charity state,' because most of its budget goes to welfare payments."

And this is without mentioning the millions of dollars in foreign aid that disappeared since 1996…

But this isn't just about the money. Bancroft's most devastating criticism of Ashdown implies that the former viceroy fundamentally misunderstood Dayton: "The pillars of the Dayton Agreement are group rights and autonomy, not centralization and the creation of a unitary system" The EU operates on the principle of subsidiarity, yet refuses to implement it in Bosnia! It boggles the mind.

Against the Official Truth

Bancroft's criticism of Ashdown – indeed, of Empire's entire approach to the post-war Bosnia – is not the only one that dared burst the official bubble of self-serving propaganda, hatred and fear-mongering, inspired by Karadzic's arrest. Two other essays appeared last week, challenging the dominant narrative of the Bosnian war and the perceived role of the West in it.

At the Brussels Journal, John Laughland explained the true war aims of the Bosnian Serbs, and described the commonly accepted story of aggression and genocide as "absurd." As if anticipating the argument Bancroft would make several days later, Laughland identified the issue crucial for peace in Bosnia:

"The Muslims continue to claim control over the whole of the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina, while the Serbs merely want the preservation of their considerable autonomy within it."

But if the tropes of aggression and genocide are so evidently absurd, why did the West go along with them? Mick Hume at Spiked argues that it was a matter of self-absorbed projection. As the Cold War ended, activists in the West sought "salvation and a new sense of moral purpose" in a Balkans crusade:

"Journalists and politicians talked about Bosnia as ‘our Poland' or even ‘our generation's Holocaust', the battle against the Serbs as ‘our Second World War', a chance to emulate their fathers' noble fight against the Nazis.

"To justify this cause they had to turn the complex civil war in the former Yugoslavia into a simple act of genocide by [Serbs]."

Now that Iraq has punctured the bubble of interventionism, "The notion that they were taking a stand against the new Nazis in Bosnia and Kosovo has become just about the only thing the pro-interventionists can hold on to as proof that they are on the side of right."

A Myth, Serving a Lie

A clear, if disturbing, picture emerges at last. The myth of the Bosnian war was invented by those who sought to profit from it, and expanded until it overrode reality itself. The actual suffering and subsequent troubles of Bosnians – be they Muslim, Serb, Croat or anyone else – never really factored into any of this, except when they made good copy, sound bite, or TV clip.

Bosnia's real problem is that its communities cannot agree on whether they should live together at all, much less how; but they will never have a chance to even start meaningful dialogue so long as the Empire uses the myth of Bosnia to justify its tyranny of good intentions.

Karadzic could go on hunger strike

July 31, 2008 10:22 AM

BELGRADE, Serbia-Radovan Karadzic's lawyer says his client will go on hunger strike if he is not allowed to defend himself in his genocide trial.

Svetozar Vujacic says "it is his basic right to defend himself." He says Karadzic "will insist on that even if he has to go on hunger strike."

Vujacic was speaking in Belgrade as Karadzic appeared for the first time Thursday at the U.N. Tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands.

During the appearance, Karadzic waived his right to an attorney in the courtroom. Vujacic is part the legal team that plans to advise Karadzic outside the court.

Karadzic was arrested July 21 in Serbia after more than 12 years as a fugitive. He is charged with 11 counts of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Saudis promise more Muslim recognitions of Kosovo

Dec 23, 2009

Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador in Albania and FYRO Macedonia Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Abdulkarim was also assigned as the “Ambassador” of Kosovo where he expressed hope that more Muslim states will recognize Kosovo separatists as an independent country.

“I hope for further recognitions in the future. We will engage and extend our impact on Islamic countries for new recognitions,” said Saudi diplomat.

Al-Abdulkarim said that Saudi’s plan on expanding their bilateral relations with Kosovo’s Islamic separatists whom they view as legitimate.

Hundreds of Serbian Churches have been destroyed by Kosovo Albanian separatists while two thirds of Christians have been forcefully expelled by the Muslim Albanian separatists.

Saudi announcement comes just as the Syrian Ambassador to Serbia Majed Shadoud said that Syria supports Serbia’s territorial integrity and has and will oppose Kosovo’s independence.

In a meeting with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Tomislav Nikolic, Syrian Ambassador said that Syria diplomatic struggle to keep Kosovo as its integral part.

Syria has been against recognizing Kosovo’s independence since the beginning, Shadoud stressed.

Nikolic and Shadoud exchanged their views on the current political and economic situation, agreeing that it was necessary to strengthen the economic cooperation between the two countries.

GRAČANICA, 26. 04. 2010.
Thousands of Kosovo Serbs protest after their phone networks were disabled (Beta)

Thousands of K. Serbs stage protest
26 April 2010 | 10:04 -> 17:54 | Source: FoNet, Tanjug

GRAČANICA -- The Kosovo Serb protest in Gračanica against the violent disabling of Serbian mobile phone networks in parts of the province has ended.

Local officials called on the international community to react and to stop the Kosovo Albanian government in Priština from prohibiting Serbs from using the phone services of Serbian operators.

The protests ended without incidents, and more were announced, with similar gatherings expected to be held every day until the Belgrade-based mobile phone networks have been reactivated.

Some 3,000 Serbs from central and other parts of Kosovo participated in the protest march in Gračanica.

There were ambulances ahead of the crowd of people, symbolizing the fact that communication with such emergency services is not possible without working phones.

KFOR and Kosovo police, KPS, secured Gračanica during the rally, which stopped the traffic through the enclave.

The Kosovo Albanian authorities in Priština targeted Belgrade-based operators over the weekend.

Kosovo District Chief Goran Arsić said ahead of the gathering today that a clear message would be sent to the government in Priština with the protest, that Serbs would not accept blackmail.

Priština is trying to isolate the Kosovo Serbs even more and integrate them violently into the system of the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo, he said.

Arsić added that events in Kosovo over the last several days “are an introduction for pressures later”, as Priština is trying to integrate the school and health system, as well as other institutions of our country in the province, into their own system”.

Officials of a body dubbed the Kosovo Regulatory Agency for Telecommunications, with the help of Kosovo police, KPS, have been forcefully turning off Serbian mobile networks in the province.

More than 20 base stations of the Telekom Srbija and Telenor companies have been damaged, while mobile operators are functioning only in northern Kosovo, which has a majority Serb population.

There are currently about 100,000 Serbs in central Kosovo and enclaves south of the Ibar River that have no phone service.

“Everything but force”

The disabling of phone networks in Serb areas in Kosovo is a very serious problem, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković said today in Belgrade.

The government will do “literally everything, short of turning to force,to help Serbs in the enclaves”, he was quoted as saying.

The premier, who spoke during a joint news conference with his visiting Bulgarian counterpart, said that Belgrade was preparing a broad diplomatic campaign, and expected that it would yield a solution acceptable to Serbs in the enclaves.

The disabling of mobile telephony networks is a very serious problem, said Cvetković, and the government will “do everything to help those people”.

UNS calls for help from international organizations

The Serbian Journalists’ Association (UNS) ,meanwhile, has called on the Serbian institutions and international organizations to help remedy the situation caused by the destruction of Serb-language broadcasting transmitters in Kosovo.

UNS states that it has called on Serbian senior officials, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), SEEMO and EULEX to help.

Association President Ljiljana Smajlović sent a letter to the IFJ, SEEMO and EULEX, calling for them to condemn the destruction of the property of legal broadcasts and to help restore the damaged equipm

Criminal Kosovo: America’s Gift to Europe

Diana Johnstone

(January 10, 2011)

U.S. media have given more attention to hearsay allegations of Julian Assange’s sexual encounters with two talkative Swedish women than to an official report accusing Kosovo prime minister Hashim Thaci of running a criminal enterprise which, among almost every other crime in the book, has murdered prisoners in order to sell their vital organs on the world market.

The report by Swiss liberal Dick Marty was mandated two years ago by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). Not to be confused with the European Union, the Council of Europe was founded in 1949 to promote human rights, the rule of law and democracy and has 47 member states (compared to 27 in the EU).

While U.S. legal experts feverishly try to trump up charges they can use to demand extradition of Assange to the United States, to be duly punished for discomfiting the empire, U.S. State Department spokesman Phillip Crowley piously reacted to the Council of Europe allegations by declaring that the United States will continue to work with Thaci since “any individual anywhere in the world is innocent until proven otherwise”.

Everyone, that is, except, among others, Bradley Manning who is in solitary confinement although he has not been found guilty of anything. All the Guantanamo prisoners have been considered guilty, period. The United States is applying the death penalty on a daily basis to men, women and children in Afghanistan and Pakistan who are innocent until proven dead.

Embarrassed supporters of Thaci’s little self-proclaimed state dismiss the accusations by saying that the Marty Report does not prove Thaci’s guilt.

Of course it doesn’t. It can’t. It is a report, not a trial. The report was mandated by the PACE precisely because judicial authorities were ignoring evidence of serious crimes. In her 2008 memoir in Italian La caccia. Io e i criminali di guerra (The Hunt. Me and the War Criminals), the former prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague, Carla del Ponte, complained that she had been prevented from carrying out a thorough investigation of reports of organ extraction from Serb and other prisoners carried out by the “Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA)” in Albania. Indeed, rumors and reports of those atrocities, carried out in the months following the occupation of Kosovo by NATO-led occupation forces, have been studiously ignored by all relevant judicial authorities.

The Marty report claims to have uncovered corroborating evidence, including testimony by witnesses whose lives would be in danger if their names were revealed. The conclusion of the report is not and could not be a verdict, but a demand to competent authorities to undertake judicial proceedings capable of hearing all the evidence and issuing a verdict.

Skepticism about atrocities

It is always prudent to be skeptical about atrocity stories circulating in wartime. History shows many examples of totally invented atrocity stories that serve to stir up hatred of the enemy during wartime, such as the widely circulated World War I reports of the Germans “cutting off the hands of Belgian babies”. Western journalists and politicians abandoned all prudent skepticism regarding the wild tales that were spread of Serb atrocities used to justify the 1999 NATO bombing of Serbia. Personally, my skepticism extends to all such stories, regardless of the identity of the alleged perpetrators, and I have refrained for years from writing about the Albanian organ transplant stories for that reason. I never considered Carla del Ponte a reliable source, but rather a gullible and self-aggrandizing woman who had been selected by the U.S. sponsors of the ICTY because they thought they could manipulate her. No doubt the sponsors of the Tribunal she was working for, which was set up by and for the United States and NATO allies in order to justify their choice of sides in the Yugoslav civil wars, would have called a halt before she could stray from her assigned path to stick her nose into crimes committed by America’s Albanian protégés. But that does not prove that the alleged crimes actually were committed.

However, the Marty report goes beyond vague rumors to make specific allegations against the KLA’s “Drenica group” led by Hashim Thaci. Despite refusal of Albanian authorities to cooperate, there is ample proof that the KLA operated a chain of “safe houses” on Albanian territory during and after the 1999 NATO war against Serbia, using them to hold, interrogate, torture and sometimes murder prisoners. One of these safe houses, belonging to a family identified by the initial “K”, was cited by Carla del Ponte and media reports as “the yellow house” (since painted white). To quote the Marty Report (paragraph 147):

“There are substantial elements of proof that a small number of KLA captives, including some of the abducted ethnic Serbs, met their death in Rripe, at or in the vicinity of the K. house. We have learned about these deaths not only through the testimonies of former KLA soldiers who said they had participated in detaining and transporting the captives while they were alive, but also through the testimonies of persons who independently witnessed the burial, disinterment, movement and reburial of the captives’ corpses (…)”

An undetermined but apparently small number of prisoners were transferred in vans and trucks to an operating site near Tirana international airport, from which fresh organs could be flown rapidly to recipients.

“The drivers of these vans and trucks – several of whom would become crucial witnesses to the patterns of abuse described – saw and heard captives suffering greatly during the transports, notably due to the lack of a proper air supply in their compartment of the vehicle, or due to the psychological torment of the fate that they supposed awaited them” (paragraph 155).

Captives described in the report as “victims of organised crime” included “persons whom we found were taken into central Albania to be murdered immediately before having their kidneys removed in a makeshift operating clinic” (paragraph 156).

These captives “undoubtedly endured a most horrifying ordeal in the custody of their KLA captors. According to source testimonies, the captives ‘filtered’ into this final subset were initially kept alive, fed well and allowed to sleep, and treated with relative restraint by KLA guards and henchmen who would otherwise have beaten them up indiscriminately” (paragraph 157).

“The testimonies on which we based our findings spoke credibly and consistently of a methodology by which all of the captives were killed, usually by a gunshot to the head, before being operated on to remove one or more of their organs. We learned that this was principally a trade in ‘cadaver kidneys’, i.e. the kidneys were extracted posthumously; it was not a set of advanced surgical procedures requiring controlled clinical conditions and, for example, the extensive use of anaesthetic” (paragraph 162).

Skepticism about “liberation”

The Marty report also recalls what is common knowledge in Europe, namely that Hashim Thaci and his “Drenica Group” are notorious criminals. While “liberated” Kosovo sinks ever further into poverty, they have amassed fortunes in various aspects of illicit trade, notably enslaving women for prostitution and controlling illegal narcotics across Europe.

“Notably, in confidential reports spanning more than a decade, agencies dedicated to combating drug smuggling in at least five countries have named Hashim Thaci and other members of his “Drenica Group” as having exerted violent control over the trade in heroin and other narcotics” (paragraph 66).

“Similarly, intelligence analysts working for NATO, as well as those in the service of at least four independent foreign Governments, made compelling findings through their intelligence-gathering related to the immediate aftermath of the conflict in 1999. Thaci was commonly identified, and cited in secret intelligence reports, as the most dangerous of the KLA’s ‘criminal bosses’” (paragraph 67).

The leftists who fell hook, line and sinker for the “war to rescue the Kosovars from genocide” propaganda that justified NATO’s debut as aggressive bomber/invader in 1999 readily accepted the identification of the “Kosovo Liberation Army” as a national liberation movement deserving their support. Isn’t it part of romantic legend for revolutionaries to rob banks for their cause? Leftists assume such criminal activities are merely a means to the end of political independence. But what if political independence is in reality the means to sanctuarize criminal activities?

Assassinating policemen, the KLA specialty prior to being given Kosovo by NATO, is an ambiguous activity. Is the target “political oppression”, as claimed, or simply law enforcement?

What have Thaci and company done with their “liberation”? First of all, they allowed their American sponsors to build a huge military base, Camp Bondsteel, on Kosovo territory, without asking permission from anyone. Then, behind a smokescreen of talk of building democracy, they have terrorized ethnic minorities, eliminated their political rivals, fostered rampant crime and corruption, engaged in electoral fraud, and ostentatiously enriched themselves thanks to the criminal activities that constitute the real economy.

The Marty Report recalls what happened when Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic, under NATO threat of wiping out his country, agreed to withdraw from Kosovo and allow a U.N. force called KFOR (quickly taken over by NATO) to occupy Kosovo.

“First, the withdrawal of the Serb security forces from Kosovo had ceded into the hands of various KLA splinter groups, including Thaci’s “Drenica Group”, effectively unfettered control of an expanded territorial area in which to carry out various forms of smuggling and trafficking” (paragraph 84).

“KFOR and UNMIK were incapable of administering Kosovo’s law enforcement, movement of peoples, or border control, in the aftermath of the NATO bombardment in 1999. KLA factions and splinter groups that had control of distinct areas of Kosovo (villages, stretches of road, sometimes even individual buildings) were able to run organised criminal enterprises almost at will, including in disposing of the trophies of their perceived victory over the Serbs” (paragraph 85).

“Second, Thaci’s acquisition of a greater degree of political authority (Thaci having appointed himself Prime Minister of the Provisional Government of Kosovo) had seemingly emboldened the “Drenica Group” to strike out all the more aggressively at perceived rivals, traitors, and persons suspected of being “collaborators” with the Serbs” (paragraph 86).

In short, NATO drove out the existing police, turning the province of Kosovo over to violent gangsters. But this was not an accident. Hashim Thaci was not just a gangster who took advantage of the situation. He had been hand-picked by U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and her right-hand man, James Rubin, for the job.

“You ought to be in movies…”

Until February 1999, Hashim Thaci’s only claim to fame was in Serbian police records, where he was wanted for various violent crimes. Then suddenly, at a French chateau called Rambouillet, he was thrust into the world spotlight by his American handlers. It is one of the most bizarre twists to the whole tragi-comic Kosovo saga.

Ms Albright was eager to use the ethnic conflict in Kosovo to make a display of U.S. military might by bombing the Serbs, in order to reassert U.S. dominance of Europe via NATO. But some European NATO country leaders thought it politically necessary to make at least a pretense of seeking a negotiated solution to the Kosovo problem before bombing. And so a fake “negotiation” was staged at Rambouillet, designed by the United States to get the Serbs to say no to an impossible ultimatum, in order to claim that the humanitarian West had no choice but to bomb.

For that, they needed a Kosovo Albanian who would play their game.

Belgrade sent a large multi-ethnic delegation to Rambouillet, ready to propose a settlement giving Kosovo broad autonomy. On the other side was a purely ethnic Albanian delegation from Kosovo including several leading local intellectuals experienced in such negotiations, including the internationally recognized leader of the Albanian separatist movement in Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova who, it was assumed, would lead the “Kosovar” delgation.

But to the general surprise of observers, the seasoned intellectuals were shoved aside, and leadership of the delegation was taken over by a young man, Hashim Thaci, known in law-enforcement circles as “the Snake”.

The American stage-managers chose Thaci for obvious reasons. While the older Kosovo Albanians risked actually negotiating with the Serbs, and thus reaching an agreement that would prevent war, Thaci owed everything to the United States, and would do as he was told. Moreover, putting a “wanted” criminal at the top of the delegation was an affront to the Serbs that would help scuttle negotiations. And finally, the Thaci image appealed to the Americans’ idea of what a “freedom fighter” should look like.

Albright’s closest aide, James Rubin, acted as talent scout, gushing over Thaci’s good looks, telling him he was so handsome he should be in Hollywood. Indeed, Thaci did not look like a Hollywood gangster, Edward G. Robinson style, but a clean-cut hero with a vague resemblance to the actor Robert Stack. Joe Biden is said to have complained that Madeleine Albright was “in love” with Thaci. Image is everything, after all, especially when the United States is casting its own Pentagon superproduction, “Saving the Kosovars”, in order to redesign the Balkans, with its own “independent” satellite states.

The pretext for the 1999 war was to “save the Kosovars” (the name assumed by the Albanian population of that Serbian province, to give the impression that it was a country and that they were the rightful inhabitants) from an imaginary threat of “genocide”. The official U.S. position was to respect the territorial integrity of Yugoslavia. But it was always quite obvious that behind the scenes, the United States had made a deal with Thaci to give him Kosovo as part of the destruction of Yugoslavia and the crippling of Serbia. The chaos that followed the withdrawal of Yugoslav security forces enabled the KLA gangs to take over and the United States to build Camp Bondsteel.

Cheered on by a virulent Albanian lobby in the United States, Washington has defied international law, violated its own commitments (the agreement ending the 1999 war called for Serbia to police Kosovo’s borders, which was never allowed), and ignored muted objections from European allies to sponsor the transformation of the poor Serbian province into an ethnic Albanian “independent state”. Since unilaterally declaring independence in February 2008, the failed statelet has been recognized only by 72 American out of 192 U.N. members, including 22 of the European Union’s 27 members.

EULEX versus Clan Loyalty

A few months later, the European Union set up a “European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo” (EULEX) intended to take over judicial authority in the province from the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) that had ostensibly exercised such functions after NATO drove out the Serbs. The very establishment of EULEX was proof that the EU’s recognition of Kosovo’s independence was unjustified and dishonest. It was an admission that Kosovo, after being delivered to KLA bands (some in war against each other), was unable to provide even a semblance of law and order, and thus in no way prepared to be “an independent state”.

Of course the West will never admit this, but it was the complaints of the Serb minority in the 1980s that they could not count on protection by police or law courts, then run by the majority ethnic Albanian communist party, that led to the Serbian government’s limitation of Kosovo’s autonomy, portrayed in the West as a gratuitous persecution motivated by racial hatred of Hitlerian proportions.

The difficulties of obtaining justice in Kosovo are basically the same now as they were then – with the difference that the Serbian police understood the Albanian language, whereas the UNMIK and EULEX internationals are almost entirely dependent on local Albanian interpreters, whose veracity they are unable to check.

The Marty Report describes the difficulties of crime investigation in Kosovo:

“The structure of Kosovar Albanian society, still very much clan orientated, and the absence of a true civil society have made it extremely difficult to set up contacts with local sources. This is compounded by fear, often to the point of genuine terror, which we have observed in some of our informants immediately upon broaching the subject of our inquiry.

“The entrenched sense of loyalty to one’s clansmen, and the concept of honour … rendered most ethnic Albanian witnesses unreachable for us. Having seen two prominent prosecutions undertaken by the ICTY leading to the deaths of so many witnesses, and ultimately a failure to deliver justice16, a Parliamentary Assembly Rapporteur with only paltry resources in comparison was hardly likely to overturn the odds of such witnesses speaking to us directly.

“Numerous persons who have worked for many years in Kosovo, and who have become among the most respected commentators on justice in the region, counseled us that organized criminal networks of Albanians (‘the Albanian mafia’) in Albania itself, in neighbouring territories including Kosovo and ‘the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia’, and in the Diaspora, were probably more difficult to penetrate than the Cosa Nostra; even low-level operatives would rather take a jail term of decades, or a conviction for contempt, than turn in their clansmen.”

A second report submitted this month to the Council of Europe by rapporteur Jean-Charles Gardetto on witness protection in war crimes trials for former Yugoslavia notes that there is no witness protection law in Kosovo and, more seriously, no way to protect witnesses that might testify against fellow ethnic Albanians.

“In the most serious cases, witnesses are able to testify anonymously. However, it was made clear to the rapporteur that these measures are useless as long as the witness is physically in Kosovo, where everybody knows everybody else. Most witnesses are immediately recognised by the defence when they deliver their testimony, despite all the anonymity measures.”

“There are many limitations to the protection arrangements currently available, not least because Kosovo has a population of less than two million with very tight-knit communities. Witnesses are often perceived as betraying their community when they give evidence, which inhibits possible witnesses from coming forward. Furthermore, many people do not believe that they have a moral or legal duty to testify as a witness in criminal cases.

“Moreover, when a witness does come forward, there is a real threat of retaliation. This may not necessarily put them in direct danger, losing their job for example, but there are also examples of key witnesses being murdered. The trial of Ramush Haradinaj, the former leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army, well illustrates this. Mr. Haradinaj was indicted by the ICTY for crimes committed during the war in Kosovo but was subsequently acquitted. In its judgment, the Tribunal highlighted the difficulties that it had had in obtaining evidence from the 100 prosecution witnesses. Thirty-four of them were granted protection measures and 18 had to be issued with summonses. A number of witnesses who were going to give evidence at the trial were murdered. These included Sadik and Vesel Muriqi, both of whom had been placed under a protection program by the ICTY.”

Europe’s Dilemma

Naturally, European accomplices in putting the Thaci gang in charge of Kosovo have been quick to dismiss the Marty report. Tony Blair apologist and former Labour minister Dennis MacShane wrote in The Independent (UK) that, “There is not one single name or a single witness to the allegations that Thaci was involved in the harvesting of human organs from murdered victims.” To someone unfamiliar with the circumstances and with the report, that may sound like a valid objection. But Marty has made it clear that he can supply names of witnesses to competent judicial authorities. Thaci himself acknowledged that they exist when he stated that he would publish the names of Marty’s witnesses – a statement understood as a death threat by those familiar with the Pristina scene.

One of the most prominent Europeans to hope that the Marty report will disappear is the French media humanitarian Bernard Kouchner, until recently Sarkozy’s foreign minister, who officially ran Kosovo as the first head of UNMIK after the NATO occupation. Contrary to Kouchner’s protests of ignorance, the UNMIK police chief in 2000 and 2001, Canadian Captain Stu Kellock, has called it “impossible” that Kouchner was not aware of organized crime in Kosovo. The first time a reporter queried Kouchner about the organ transplant accusations, a few months ago, Kouchner responded with a loud horse laugh, before telling the reporter to go have his head examined. After the Marty report, Kouchner merely repeated his “skepticism”, and called for an investigation… by EULEX.

Other NATO have defenders have taken the same line. One investigation calls for another, and so on. Investigating the charges against the KLA is beginning to look like the Middle East peace process.

The Marty Report itself concludes with a clear call on EULEX to “to persevere with its investigative work, without taking any account of the offices held by possible suspects or of the origin of the victims, doing everything to cast light on the criminal disappearances, the indications of organ trafficking, corruption and the collusion so often complained of between organized criminal groups and political circles” and “to take every measure necessary to ensure effective protection for witnesses and to gain their trust”.

This is a tall order, considering that EULEX is ultimately dependent on EU governments deeply involved in ignoring Kosovo Albanian crime for over a decade. Still, some of the most implicated personalities, such as Kouchner, are nearing the end of their careers, and there are many Europeans who consider that things have gone much too far, and that the Kosovo cesspool must be cleaned up.

EULEX is already prosecuting an organ trafficking ring in Kosovo. In November 2008, a young Turkish man who had just had a kidney removed collapsed at Pristina airport, which led police to raid the nearby Medicus clinic where a 74-year-old Israeli was convalescing from implantation of the young man’s kidney. The Israeli had allegedly paid 90,000 euros for the illegal implant, while the young Turk, like other desperately poor foreigners lured to Pristina by false promises, was cheated of the money promised. The trial is currently underway in Pristina of seven defendants charged with involvement in the illegal Medicus organ trafficking racket, including top members of the Kosovo Albanian medical profession. Still at large are Dr. Yusuf Sonmez, a notorious international organ trafficker, and Moshe Harel, an Israeli of Turkish origin accused of organizing the illicit international organ trade. Israel is known to be a prime market for organs because of Jewish religious restrictions that severely limit the number of Israeli donors.

The Marty Report notes that the information it has obtained “appears to depict a broader, more complex organized criminal conspiracy to source human organs for illicit transplant, involving co-conspirators in at least three different foreign countries besides Kosovo, enduring over more than a decade. In particular, we found a number of credible, convergent indications that the organ-trafficking component of the post-conflict detentions described in our report is closely related to the contemporary case of the Medicus Clinic, not least through prominent Kosovar Albanian and international personalities who feature as co-conspirators in both.”

But EULEX prosecution of the Medicus case does not automatically mean that the European judicial authorities in Kosovo will pursue the even more criminal organ trafficking denounced in the Marty Report. One obstacle is that the alleged crimes took place on the territory of Albania, and so far Albanian authorities have been uncooperative, to say the least. A second inhibition is fear that the attempt to prosecute leading KLA figures would lead to unrest. Indeed, on January 9, several hundred Albanians carrying Albanian flags (not the Western-imposed flag of Kosovo) demonstrated in Mitrovica against the Marty report shouting “UCK, UCK” (KLA in Albanian). Still, EULEX has indicted two former KLA commanders for war crimes committed on Albanian territory in 1999 when they allegedly tortured prisoners, ethnic Albanians from Kosovo either suspected of “collaborating” with legal Serb authorities or because they were political opponents of the KLA.

A striking and significant political fact that emerges from the Marty report is that:

“The reality is that the most significant operational activities undertaken by members of the KLA – prior to, during, and in the immediate aftermath of the conflict – took place on the territory of Albania, where the Serb security forces were never deployed” (paragraph 36).

Thus, to a very large extent, the Serbian province of Kosovo was the object of a foreign invasion from across its border, by Albanian nationalists keen on creating “Greater Albania”, and aided in this endeavor by diaspora lobbies and, decisively, NATO bombing. Far from being an “aggressor” in its own historic province, Serbia was the victim of a major two-pronged foreign invasion.

America’s disposable puppets

NATO could not have waged a ground war against Serbian forces without suffering casualties. So it waged a 78-day air war, ravaging Serbia’s infrastructure. To save his country from threatened annihilation, Milosevic gave in. For its ground force, the United States chose the KLA. The KLA was no match for Serbian forces on the ground, but it aided the United States/NATO war in peculiar ways.

The United States provided KLA fighters on the ground with GPS devices and satellite telephones to enable them to spot Serb targets for bombing (very inefficiently, as the NATO bombs missed almost all their military targets). The KLA in some places ordered Kosovo Albanian civilians to flee across the border to Albania or to ethnic Albanian parts of Macedonia, where photographers were waiting to enrich the imagery of a population persecuted by Serb “ethnic cleansing” – an enormous propaganda success. And crucially, before the NATO bombing, the KLA pursued a strategy of provocation, murdering policemen and civilians, including disobedient Albanians, designed to commit acts of repression that could be used as a pretext for NATO intervention. Thaci even boasted subsequently of the success of this strategy.

Thaci has played the role assigned to him by the empire. Still, considering the history of American disposal of collaborators who have outlived their usefulness (Ngo Dinh Diem, Noriega, Saddam Hussein…), he has reasons to be uneasy.

Thaci’s uneasiness could be sharpened by a recent trip to the region by William Walker, the U.S. agent who in 1999 created the main pretext for the NATO bombing campaign by inflating casualties from a battle between Serb police and KLA fighters in the village of Racak into a massacre of civilians, “a crime against humanity” perpetrated by “people with no value for human life”. Walker, whose main professional experience was in Central America during the Reagan administration’s bloody fight against revolutionary movements in Nicaragua and El Salvador, had been imposed by the United States as head of a European mission ostensibly mandated to monitor a cease-fire between Serb forces and the KLA. But in fact, he and his British deputy used the mission to establish close contacts with the KLA in preparation for joint war against the Serbs. The grateful gangster regime has named a street in Pristina after him;

In between receiving a decoration in Kosovo and honorary citizenship in Albania, Walker took political positions that could make both Thaci and EULEX nervous. Walker expressed support for Albin Kurti, the young leader of the radical nationalist “Self-Determination” movement (Vetëvendosje), which is gaining support with its advocacy of independence from EU governance as well as in favor of “natural Albania”, meaning a Greater Albania composed of Albania, Kosovo and parts of southern Serbia, much of Macedonia, a piece of Montenegro and even northern Greece. Was Walker on a talent-scouting mission in view of replacing the increasingly disgraced Thaci? If Kurti is the new favorite, a U.S.-chosen replacement could cause even more trouble in the troubled Balkans.

The West, that is, the United States, the European Union and NATO may be able to agree on a “curse on both their houses” approach, concluding that the Serbs they persecuted and the Albanians they helped are all barbarians, unworthy of their benevolent intervention. What they will never admit is that they chose, and to a large extent created, the wrong side in a war for which they bear criminal responsibility. And whose devastating consequences continue to be borne by the unfortunate inhabitants of the region, whatever their linguistic and cultural identity.

Protection of Serbs in Kosovo is just talk, minister says

Source: Tanjug

BELGRADE -- The desecration of the church is a message to Serbs about ethnic Albanian community and Kosovo government's attitude, Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanović says.

In a written statement, Bogdanović said that the local police could not and often did not even want to adequately protect Serb cultural monuments, monasteries and churches.

“We know that from previous experience and we have been presenting the problem to KFOR, but also to all the relevant international actors present in Kosovo. When it comes to the protection of the Serb monasteries and the heritage of the Serb people, the Kosovo police willingness has all been just talk, while in practice, it only showed gross negligence, irresponsibility and carelessness,” the minister protested.

Bogdanović said that the desecration of the church in the village of Samodreža was a clear indicator of how the ethnic Albanian community and the Kosovo government really felt about supporting the actual return of displaced and expelled Serbs.

The minister announced that he would speak about the desecration of the church with all relevant international representatives in Kosovo and would seek from them not only to condemn the act, but also to find the perpetrators and give them a proper punishment.

He said he would demand from the international representatives to find effective mechanisms for the protection of the Serb cultural heritage and for preventing such uncivilized incidents from happening again.

The Orthodox church, devoted to the Great Feast of Beheading of St. John the Baptist and located in the village of Samodreža, near the town of Vučitrn in north-eastern Kosovo, is said to be the place where the Serbian army, led by Prince Lazar, received communion before the Battle of Kosovo in 1389.

The Kosovo Strategic Action Network (KSAM) announced Friday the church had been vandalized several days before, with the door being broken and the building turned into a rubbish dump and a public toilet.

Muslim Albanians stone serbs in Kosovo again

June 11, 2011 – 11:24 am

Muslim Albanians attacked Christian Serbs in Djakovica, in Serbia’s Kosovo province.

Serbs were attacked by a stone throwing mob of Muslim Albanians who were protesting their presence in the city from which Albanians have ethnically cleansed them.

A bus brought the Serbs to the city for a Christian religious observance of the Souls.

Albanian authorities have arrested 2 ethnic Albanians and after brief conversation with them the 2 arrested Albanians were let go free.

“We visited the graves that was in the city, then after that we went to the monastery of Holy Mother and when we came out of it we were stoned,” said Djokica Stanojevic.

Some 120 other Serbs did not visit the planned religious observance at another cemetery because their lives were in danger.

Priest Milija Arsovic said that the Serbian cemetery in Kosovska Mitrovica has been completely destroyed by “unknown assailants”.

Media in the West claims that the Kosovo Albanians are an allegedly “moderate” Islamic sect.

While all this goes on in occupied Kosovo shiptars freely operate their businesses in Serbian cities and towns, shiptar bakeries and shops are full of stupid Serb customers.

There was one incident a few years ago when the ZOG police arrested a few nationalists for standing outside a shiptar bakery in Serbia and handing out free bread to people so that they wouldn't give their money to shiptars, this was considered 'spreading hate' and the authorities made sure that it never happened again.

In southern Mitrovica Serbian graves desecrated 90 percent

Kosovska Mitrovica - Several hundred Serbs who organized this morning visited the cemetery in the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, she found 90 percent of the destroyed, damaged and desecrated tombstones.

Almost no marks where vandals have left their mark, with a cemetery they took everything that could be taken and sold, and that which is not broken.

Through tears, while lighting candles, decrepit old woman says, "when I was on All Souls Day White monument stood upright, though the pictures of my family were broken, I knew that based candles and burned them, and today it is on their graves just a bunch of broken marble. "

Many Serbs carried the remains to the cemetery in the village of miners, near Zvecan, where the funeral performed since 1999. year, and those who are permanently left Kosovo, returned after several years to bring in a new environment, where their ancestors lived, bury their loved ones.

Organized this morning in northern Kosovska Mitrovica went to the displaced Serbs south of the Ibar River in central Kosovo and Metohija, visit cemeteries, and buses provided by the Serbian Kosovo and Metohija.

In Kosovska Mitrovica, there were no incidents. The buses were provided Kosovo police, and the area around the cemetery Italian gendarmerie.

Sanctimonious Serbophobic EU bureaucrats + primitive shiptar savages is always a recipe for disaster, will never = normal civilized society.

An Insider's View of EU Efforts in Kosovo

November 9, 2012 – 7:45 am
(Spiegel Online, Nov. 7)

Since 2008, the EU has had thousands of soldiers, judges and prosecutors in Kosovo to help it become a Western-style constitutional democracy. But a German police officer with years of experience there says it is still dominated by corruption, clan loyalties and drugs — with officials just waiting for the high-minded reformers to leave.

The development of a constitutional state in Kosovo is the biggest and most expensive aid mission in the history of the European Union. [Yet somehow still not worthy of Americans’ attention, apparently.] The so-called EULEX mission, with a staff of roughly 2,500, has cost more than €1 billion ($1.3 billion) since 2008. Nevertheless, a recent report by the European Court of Auditors finds that there have been hardly any successes. It concludes that levels of organized crime and corruption remain high, while the judiciary is inefficient and suffers from too much political influence. A German police officer familiar with conditions in Kosovo for many years confirms the report’s findings based on his own experiences in the country. Owing to laws applying to German civil servants, the officer must remain anonymous.

…I’ve known Kosovo for more than 10 years. In my opinion, we have achieved almost nothing in that time. I’m mostly disappointed with the police. Despite many years of intensive training and equipment meeting European standards, police officers are more interested in doing radar speed checks than in fighting crime. Nabbing speeding motorists doesn’t require any movement; you just sit comfortably in your heated police car.

It’s my impression that corruption is quite high among Kosovar police officers. I was told that, if you’re caught with a stolen car, all you have to do is pay the officer a bribe to take care of the problem.

The major criminals are already out of reach, protected by traditional clan structures and the old-boys’ networks within the former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), from which many police officers were recruited. They obviously don’t want to be seen as whistleblowers, and they’re hardly likely to investigate their former commanders, who have struck it rich in the drug trade.

A wall of silence, impenetrable to police officers like us, protects these networks. In reality, we hardly have any idea what’s going on here.

For example, the city of Ferizaj is considered the biggest hub for the drug trade in the Balkans, and yet we hardly ever seize significant amounts of narcotics there.

The only thing that’s clear is that Kosovo is firmly in the grip of organized crime. You only have to look at the many new gas stations and shopping centers, where there are almost no customers. It isn’t too much of a leap of faith to conclude that their main purpose is to launder money. Besides, apartment buildings are being built everywhere, and there are far more luxury cars than in neighboring Macedonia, for example, even though the per capita income in Macedonia is significantly higher.

Only a few weeks ago, the chairmen of both the Pristina municipal government and Kosovo’s football federation were arrested. They are accused of promising land in a conservation area to a developer in return for bribes and expensive cars. The only reason the case came to light is that the permits were not issued, and yet the officials still wanted to keep the cars.

The judiciary is also a long way from being fully functional. Many positions are not filled, or they are constantly being refilled. Some judges have apparently been known to refuse to hear certain cases. Colleagues recently told me that a war criminal sentenced to 15 years in prison was seen having lunch with one of the country’s top politicians in Pristina.

It’s certainly a success to see war-crime charges being brought against a former KLA member. An example is Fatmir Limaj, a popular politician with the governing party and a member of parliament. He was even a cabinet minister for a while. He was accused of being responsible for the torture and death of seven Serbs and a Kosovar while serving as a KLA commander. A key witness, who had been brought to Germany for his protection, committed suicide in (the western city of) Duisburg in September 2011. A court acquitted Limaj in May.

(Please note: Advocating on behalf of Limaj’s criminal career early on was the 2010 New York Republican Senate nominee: Joe DioGuardi. A translated quote from Kosovapress.com, circa 2005: “If we wouldn’t bring one expert with international credibility as witness in [the] case [of] Limaj…I don’t believe that Limaj would be out in freedom now. We’re activists and not people that talk, we in fact talk good but we also [know] how to make good strategies how to make things reality, and this is an advantage for Kosova if it uses it….”)

Kosovo is a country in which centuries-old traditions live on, and blood feuds are part of the culture. We Central Europeans have not been able to convince the Kosovars of the benefits of adopting a new legal and value system like the one we have in the West. That’s because they see that the old structures remain powerful while government institutions are weak. I fear that the Kosovars will ride us out, just as the Taliban are waiting for Western troops to withdraw from Afghanistan.

Even with all of this, none of those responsible for the EULEX mission is telling Brussels the truth. They just send sugarcoated reports from Kosovo, so-called “okay reportings.” Perhaps they have to do so to keep their jobs, so that they can continue working in foreign missions. But it doesn’t help Kosovo.

And you'd wish that these insane, wasteful efforts- that at the end of the day, of course, only ends up reinforcing and confirming the fundamental truth that you will never be able to outrun or outfund: that it is the quality of the people; i.e its blood; that makes the society, and not the amounts of handouts and unearned land thrown at them - could at least be done without clearing out and stamping down on the only people that have kept the Balkans civilized, i.e, you Serbs. But that's not how the ZOG operates, and one would have to be naive to think that the violence and injustices committed against Serbs was only unfortunate side effects of a misguided, but 'well-intended', effort trying to 'better the life' for poor Albanians and Bosniaks. No, the dispossession, weakening and all out assault against the Serbs was intended all along.

An acquaintance of mine went to Kosovo last spring to visit a friend who draws occupation in some form from the international-ZOG-police-safety-machinery down there, and her review was pretty gloomy: She had an overall feeling of visiting an extremly badly kept and badly functioning country, a feeling of unease and of being unsafe walking the streets and, as a sidenote, I remember she talked about all the trash that was being thrown around everywhere, polluting the otherwise beautiful landscape (she was really astonished and disgusted with the level of plain, stupid, infinitively meaningless littering). I remember she said it "didn't feel like Europe", which perhaps sums things up pretty good. A White Serbian Civilization or ZOG backed Albanian degenerate, trashy, third-world narcostate. Those are the alternatives.
