NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. - A 19-year-old woman was found strangled to death in Covington, and her boyfriend has been charged with murder.

According to family members, Alyssa Wright went to her boyfriend, 19-year-old Elijah Ramoutar’s house Tuesday night.

“We were sitting on the bed, laughing, joking about things that were starting to look up for us. She said, ‘Bye. I love you. I’ll be back,’” the victim’s mother, Melinda Wright said.

“He was always a real well-mannered boy. I never had any problems with him, always been respectful,” Melinda Wright said.

PHILADELPHIA — A North Carolina man wanted in connection with a murder in Delaware County has been arrested in Georgia.

Thirty-seven-year-old Rodney Shelton was caught Friday afternoon in Decatur.

He is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of 63-year-old Thomas Childs during a robbery in Yeadon in June 2015.

A Philadelphia couple are being sought in a double homicide last month in Northern California, authorities said.

Robert Lee Randolph, 30, and Maria Teresa Lebron, 28, of Northeast Philadelphia, are wanted by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office in an Oct. 15 triple shooting — in which two men were killed.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the triple shooting went down like this:

On the evening of Oct. 15, John "Jessie" Mariana took the couple to the Sebastopol home of Nathan Proto, 36, where the exchange was supposed to take place. About an hour into the meeting, authorities said, Randolph pulled out a handgun and shot Mariana, Proto, and the female friend of the two victims.

Proto died at the scene. Mariana, also from Philadelphia, died Oct. 18 at a hospital, according to sheriff's officials.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A North Little Rock man is facing charges of second degree murder after police say he admitted to shooting a man multiple times.

On Wednesday, police found 38-year-old Tetus Jenkins standing over the victim, 29-year-old Kevin Williams on the 5300 block of Lynch Drive.....

A St. Louis man has been charged in the slaying of a cabdriver found dead in his taxi in the Central West End in September.

Shakur Ellis, 18, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder, robbery and armed criminal action. He was ordered held with bail set at $250,000, cash-only. Ellis lives in the 4700 block of Vernon Avenue, police said.

The cabdriver, Timothy Grice, was killed between 2 and 3 a.m. on Sept. 14.....

LOS ANGELES — A 32-year-old man was convicted today of the shotgun killing of a woman walking on a Hollywood sidewalk with her boyfriend last year in what authorities believe was an attack precipitated by a financial dispute.

The Los Angeles Superior Court jury deliberated just over a day before finding Ezeoma Chigozie Obioha guilty of first-degree murder for the July 5, 2015, death of Carrie Melvin, along with the special circumstance allegation of murder for financial gain and an allegation that he personally and intentionally discharged a shotgun.

At a hearing in March, a Los Angeles Police Department detective testified that state labor officials told him that a settlement conference had been set last July 27 to deal with a claim for just over $1,700 that Melvin had filed against Obioha stemming from alleged unpaid wages......

A Roanoke man convicted of fatally stabbing his former boss was given a 40-year sentence this week for second-degree murder.

After a two-day trial in August, jurors found Ronald Lamont White, 43, guilty of killing David Graham Bourhill last year in the basement of Bourhill’s northwest Roanoke home.....

WILKES-BARRE — After just under four hours of deliberations, a jury on Tuesday found Eleazar Yisrael guilty of murder.

The jury found Yisrael, 31, of Hazleton, guilty as charged on counts of first-degree murder, robbery, burglary, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.

The verdict means Yisrael will spend the rest of his life in prison. He was ordered to serve life plus 174 to 348 months in state prison.

Yisrael was accused of murdering Samuel Vacante, 52, who was shot in the back with his own .22-caliber rifle inside the garage of his home at 20 Coventry Road, Drums, on Aug. 31, 2015.........

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Beach Police say a third teenager 19-year-old Maurice Boney Jr. has been arrested in connection to the murder of a 60-year-old woman on December 4.

Christine Bender was shot in front of her own home on Campion Court early that morning.

Officers responded to Bender’s home around 2 a.m. and found her suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.....

An Orange County jury began deliberations Friday at the murder trial of a 24-year-old man, accused of carrying a shotgun to the scene of a home invasion that went terribly wrong and left a father — an unintended target — dead.

Antwaun Welch and two co-defendants were indicted on charges of first-degree murder and home invasion robbery for the Nov. 25, 2013, homicide.

Assistant State Attorney Ryan Williams told jurors in closing arguments Friday that the suspects plotted out a home invasion near Pine Hills Road but went to the wrong house.

They were preparing to kick in the wrong door when they were surprised by the victim, Lance Matthew Whitten, 38, a father of four, who was leaving a friend's home......

DENVER – A man convicted of shooting and killing a Metro Taxi driver during an attempted robbery was given the maximum sentence Friday.

Dasean Perry, 20, will be spending the next 48 years in prison. He was 19 when he and another teen, Nicholas McKinney, 18, allegedly shot and killed Darren Bloomquist, 49, inside his taxi on Sep.5, 2015.

Robeson County, N.C. (WPDE) — Zabiane Laquris Williams, 19, is charged with first degree murder, first degree rape, first degree arson, first degree burglary and felonious larceny in the 2015 murder of 66-year-old Patricia Dawn Hill, according to Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey.

Hill was found dead in her home at 1697 Happy Hill Road in Fairmont on Aug. 24.

Patricia Dawn Hill died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head and suffered extensive burns to her body...........

KALAMAZOO, MI -- A phone left at an apartment adjacent to Western Michigan University where a student was shot and killed was one piece of evidence that led to charges against a basketball player, according to court testimony.

A Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety detective testified Monday, Dec. 12, to District Court Judge Richard A. Santoni that detectives used the phone in their investigation and found the number to be associated with 20-year-old WMU guard Joeviair Kennedy.

Anchorage police have taken into custody the 21-year-old man charged with murder in January's double homicide at Point Woronzof, officials said.

The arrest comes six days after state prosecutors announced that a grand jury had handed up two counts each of first- and second-degree against Jamal Hall.

Foriegnne Aubert-Morissette, 20, and Selena Annette Mullenax, 20, were discovered at Anchorage's Point Woronzof on Jan. 28.
