Default Easy money, baby!

I've done the following too many times to count.

Always do very well.

This weekend, there is a large annual fair in a small local town. I'll be set up with 2 T-shirts for sale & a large scoreboard (seen by all) with which to keep count of which shirt sells the most.

Shirt #1: PROUD REPUBLICAN (red print)

Shirt #2: PROUD DEMOCRAT (blue print)

I'll have about $1.15 in the shirts, which I sell for $5.00.*

The Republicans always win.

Find a printer, and start hitting local events doing the same thing. The scoreboard is a must. The bigger, the better. You won't be disappointed in your return on investment.

*I have free access to a screen-printing shop, so your prices will vary. I would think you could get a White shirt imprinted w/1 color in bulk for around 4-5 bucks anywhere, sell for 7.50 or 10.

I made the above post a couple of years ago.

Guys, this is the single best idea that I have ever came up with for making money.

Every election cycle, you have a chance to absolutely rake in the cash.

Start contacting local screen-printers, checking prices for a 1 color-1 side imprint on a White T-shirt in bulk.

Get the price breakdown on lots of 100, 300, etc. Don't be afraid to play one printer against another, it's standard practice in the industry.

Start thinking of your sign design. Bigger is always better.

As soon as the campaign season begins in earnest, start looking for locations to sell at.

You are only limited by your motivation level.

I'm going to add ideas/tips to this thread as the 2012 election seasons begins to ramp up, because it's a simply perfect way for WN to make themselves a considerable amount of extra cash.

I wonder who the Republicans are going to run against Obama in 2012?

Obama-Biden 2012! shirts in one-color blue, Romney-Palin? in one-color red.

I don't know if they will nominate Palin.

Donnie,

How many of the different sizes do you go with? Or do you just go with one. . .XL?

What's the normal ratio sold of Repubs to Dems?

This sounds like a great idea. . .the scoreboard thing is the hook.

Hooked me!

The Trump train has started rolling out of the Republican Station.

About 70% of people buy XL. You will always sell a few of the other sizes, all the way up to 4X, so I try and have a few of each, but mostly XL for sure.

I would say it's 70/30. I live in a rural Republican area, and the venues I usually set up at also help to skew the percentages towards Republicans.

I'm definitely going to print up some generic "Tea Party" type stuff to offer as well.

We have been selling organic produce I and a few others grow at several locations from spring until fall for the past couple of years. I'll set the scoreboard up at our main roadside location, as soon as it is obvious what the Republican ticket will look like.

I just agreed today to a cash per diem deal with a guy who wants to set up & sell higher-end flea market type of stuff along side our produce tables on the weekends. I'll have a couple of cars out there for sale, too.

I'll sell quite a few of the shirts in the months leading up to November 2012. I do every dog & pony show cycle.

A motivated WN can do so in his/her area as well.

The general election for the next POTUS is one year away.

Obama-Biden 2012! shirts in one-color blue, the Republicans in one-color red.

Start planning now to make yourselves a nice chunk of extra cash this cycle.

Contact local screen-printers.

Does this require a vendor's license?
What kind of a cut will the event promotor expect?

Getting a "peddlers license" (or a local equivalent) is always a good idea, but depending on where you set up, not necessarily.

Again, a lot depends on where you set up.

I've found the percentages you pay is usually negotiable. I would look for places/events that have a flat fee for setting up a table.

If anyone here is interested in doing something like this I suspect that Donnie's contact would give a better price for quantities.

I know locally I can get 12 dozen shirts in full four color printing for about $5.50 a shirt. I think that's what the Obongo shirts cost us although I still have almost two cases of those shirts. The artwork was apparently too much for the locals.

Not sure if Donnie's contact requires a minimum order but if several of us were interested in doing this we could likely meet that minimum and get a lower cost per shirt to boot.

Let me know if any of you are interested selling some of these shirts. We could even do a test run to see how it plays out in our area.

There is a large flea market here where tables (with power) rent for $40 the weekend (Sat, Sun). Huge traffic through there too.

Funny; when I think of people selling political T-shirts at rallies, etc, I get a mental association of a buddy of mine from the UK who says he pops up at concerts with an NO tank and sells balloons.

Only the latter doesn't have a downer, as long as it's medical grade, so I hear.

Most people want to get high, whether it's from Nitrous Oxide or political fervor.

Anyone might think you're a cynic. Still, what a great idea. You could move into Obama T-shirts. Hell, I can't think of anything funnier than a WN profiting from the swine. Hell, there's no end to this thing. Well, for you, I don't live in America.

Bump for those looking to make a few bucks off the political dog & pony shows.

Tick-tock, people.

Remember, BIG SCORE BOARD.

White shirt, 1 color imprint, 1 side. Obama shirts printed in blue, Romney in red. Contact some local printers, get some quotes.

You will make money. Potentially a lot of money. I always do.

You're only limited by your industriousness.

I've done the following too many times to count.

4 hours of work.

$15 dollars in material costs (paint, tape, masking).

$1485 profit.

Too easy.
