Unitarians' Strategy: Coerced Universal Public Schooling
This is the thread in which I'm going to copy out interesting things from the book "Is Public Education Necessary?" by Samuel Blumenfeld (whom I assume but do not know is a jew, which is irrelevant to what's discussed here). Blumenfeld details the history of public schooling in America, but it's more than that - it's really the history of government in America, the history of an ideology becoming dominant. That ideology is liberalism, it comes, in America, from the Unitarians, who defeated the Calvinists in intellectual-political warfare in Massachusetts, after which victory they spread their ideas eventually throughout and over the rest of the colonies and states. (I will most likely copy this thread into the homeschooling forum too.)
