Judge signs orders in case of accused Killeen cop killer
February 23, 2017 BELTON — The capital murder case of a man accused of killing a detective moved forward today, however, there is still no trial date set nearly three years after gunfire erupted on Circle M Drive in Killeen. Judge John Gauntt signed three agreed orders that impact the capital murder case of Marvin Louis Guy on Thursday morning. Any further details were spared, however, as the case is still under a gag order issued by Gauntt in September 2015. Guy, 51, sat silent in between his two attorneys wearing his orange jumpsuit and black, thick-rimmed glasses. The charges he faces is the result of the shooting death of Detective Charles “Chuck” Dinwiddie, a Killeen Police Department detective and SWAT team member. http://kdhnews.com/news/crime/judge-...b2aedd9dd.html |

Lee's Summit family shocked after learning convicted murderer gains parole
LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - Mark Weibel's family is devastated after learning his killer will be set free. "My nephew grew up without a father because of Eddie Ramsey," said Paul Weibel. Paul's brother, Mark, was killed on February 23, 1989. Eddie Ramsey murdered Mark Weibel, 36, and his boss James Gaither, 49, in their auto shop off Troost. "He laid them on a concrete floor and blew their brains out and he's gonna be walking your streets," said Paul. Ramsey was convicted in Jackson County in 1991 on two counts of murder, sentenced to life in prison without parole. They say it's due to a recent Supreme Court decision that struck down mandatory life terms for juvenile offenders, even retroactively. This means that because Ramsey was 17 at the time of the murders, he's just one of thousands of inmates across the country with mandatory life sentences who will not only get a parole hearing, but could be released. http://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/...r-gains-parole |
