I fell into the debt trap and am digging out. Still owe a couple thousand on a Bank of America card. Got a mailing from them lastm week, new rules. If I miss a payment or am even one day late my APR goes up to 39% for the entire life of the card!! The Mafia offers a better deal.

Live cheap. Stay out of debt. That's my motto.

One area one can save is with automobiles. Sure I'd like to have a late model, new midsized car. But the monthly payments add up. A lot of folks don't realize that as they don't need to pay it that instant. If you buy a used car maybe 5 years old and 50K miles you can have a decent car and save a lot a money.
