Republishing Internet Posts with intent to harm
http://volokh.com/posts/1238961416.shtml
A college girl wrote a nasty poem about her hometown and posted it on her MySpace page. Her former principle gave the poem to the editor of the local paper, who published it as a letter to the Editor, signing the girl's full name. The girl's family lost their family business and had to flee the town. The girl sued the principal and the newspaper. The last comment is the most interesting. This poster says that if she PUBLISHED something on the internet, then the newspaper should have had to get permission to REPUBLISH it. Note that the blogger tries to make a "self evident" case that republishing racist posts to harm racists would theoretically be a public service.
