Default Army plans to cut 40,000 soldiers

Quote:
The Army plans to cut 40,000 soldiers from its ranks over the next two years, a reduction that will affect virtually all its domestic and foreign posts, the service asserts in a document obtained by USA Today.

The potential troop cut comes as the Obama administration is pondering its next moves against the Islamic State militant group in Iraq and Syria. President Obama said Monday he and military leaders had not discussed sending additional troops to Iraq to fight the Islamic State. There are about 3,500 troops in Iraq.

An additional 17,000 Army civilian employees would also be laid off under the plan officials intend to announce this week. Under the plan, the Army would have 450,000 soldiers by the end of the 2017 budget year. The reduction in troops and civilians is due to budget constraints, the document says.

...Some of the cuts were expected. During the peak of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Army swelled to about 570,000 soldiers to ensure that deployments could be limited to one year. After most troops came home from those wars, the Army planned to shrink.

In recent years, the Army has cut its war-time force from 570,000 to 490,000. Along with those troops cuts was a reduction of 13 of the Army's 45 brigade combat teams.

If the automatic budget cuts known as sequestration, set to begin in October take place, the Army would have to slash another 30,000 soldiers, according to the document. At that level, the Army would not be able to meet its current deployments and responding to demands for troops in other regions.

In 2013, the Army maintained in budget documents that dipping below 450,000 soldiers could prevent it from prevailing in a war.

In the wake of the Chattanooga shootings, there is now this.

'US must consider arming military personnel who interact with public'

The comment below the article about this being "one more way to militarize the country by stealth" is quite prescient.

US Army Building Roads in Eastern Europe, Citing 'Russian Aggression'

Jason Ditz, July 27, 2015

US military officials are loudly bragging about their latest initiative to reassure Europe, a program that was called, unlikely enough, the European Reassurance Initiative (ERI), and which to this point has involved moving a lot of sand around, and building some roads in rural parts of several Baltic states.

ERI is nominally the latest in a long line of programs the Obama Administration has announced to "combat Russian aggression", and which are meant to build up nations along the Russian frontier to support massive US military deployments to spite Russia.

The plans are often ill-conceived, as the US idea to deploy huge amounts of tanks into several of these countries ran into problems because the tanks are stored in swampy areas where the mud makes it virtually impossible to drive a tank, and NATO has taken to having to "ship" those tanks back and forth to their various anti-Russia photo ops.

In this regard, ERI is trying to be the solution for the military-created problem, hauling thousands of tonnes of sand into those swampy areas to build "tank trails" that they can drive the tanks through, along with roads to support the infrastructure for the NATO operations in the area.

The army sees it as a win-win, as the pricey construction involves the use of contractors, and is subsequently popular with the host countries, and also lets the army deploy people to not-war zones, which is "good for morale."

That the whole program is make-work to "reassure" European nations about the US commitment to take part in some unlikely, disastrous war with Russia is just gravy for them, as the Pentagon sees talk of a new Cold War as a great excuse to push for bigger budgets, and if they can't physically position forces in the Baltic swamps for this scheme, they'll build up the swamps so they can.

If the conditions are anything like I've seen on that EnglishRussia.com blog when the winter thaw comes and Eastern European rural roads turn to mud pits and mud rivers, they might as well just throw all the tanks, APCs, HumVs, and everything else right to the bottom. This will make the "rebuilding" of Iraq and Afganistan look like a shining success.

That was the main problem Hitler's panzers and the rest of his army faced during Barbarossa in autumn 1941. Russia at the time had a dearth of paved or improved roads and once the rains started, "General Mud" slowed the German Army to nearly a standstill, even horses got stuck, let alone tanks and other vehicles. Tanks really can't operate effectively in about 75% of the world, including a great deal of the US. I'm sure Putin must be shaking his head at this ZOG idiocy, especially since he would have the home field advantage in a strong defensive position in any hypothetical war (assuming it didn't go nuclear). Eastern Europe is not the Middle East--a bunch of M1 Abrams tanks, Humvees and anything else rolling along on a narrow sand trail through a swamp would be sitting ducks for the Russian Air Force.

But the people running the Pentagon and their masters in Washington and Tel Aviv are certifiable nutjobs, especially with Insane McCain and Bibi Nuttyahoo egging them on. I wouldn't put anything past them, including starting World War 3.

Destroyed tanks are replacable, for a profit, at taxpayers' expense. Anyone manning them won't need a burial, after the ordnance enters. There are plenty of replacements waiting to replace the evaporated retards who once manned them.

Default Hey Troops, you too can be like those cool characters on 'NCIS'

Quote:
While the Army plans to trim tens of thousands of soldiers, its counterintelligence community is hiring.

Spots are open at the CI enlisted school. Soldiers from any military occupational specialty can apply to become a counterintelligence agent (MOS 35L) and could leave school with an automatic promotion. Those who re-up as 35Ls can earn thousands in bonus payments.

Enlisted counterintelligence agents serve around the world, investigating threats of all types alongside CI officers and law enforcement officials from multiple agencies. Their skills and experience, plus a top-secret security clearance, can create a path to a post-service career with the FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security or similar organizations.

Most of our elite commando units are led and manned by white officers and enlisted. Do we need to diversify and promote what is not there?

Lots of PC responses from the ZOGbots. No doubt any with a dissenting opinion would be censored.

Default Famed SEAL leader opposes move to add women to teams

Quote:
Many are hailing the Navy's push to add women to elite commando teams as a hallmark of progress, but the legendary founder of SEAL Team 6 warns that co-ed SEAL teams could confuse the combat decisions of leaders and opposes the high-level push to integrate the SEAL teams.

Cmdr. Richard Marcinko, a Vietnam veteran who retired in 1989, argues that SEAL teammates may be distracted from their mission by protective instincts for a female comrade.

If a SEAL is wounded in combat, leaders sometimes have to choose to leave them with weapons and ammo and to complete the mission before returning to collect them, risking the SEAL's potential capture.

But if it's a woman, her treatment by her captors may weigh on the team leader.

"The leader of this mission would have to weigh, should I drag her along with me and potentially slow things down, or do I leave her and hope for the best?" Marcinko said in a phone interview Wednesday.

"Realistically, women have been shooting since Annie Oakley," he added. "They're already parachuting, scuba diving, all that already," Marcinko said. "My concern is putting added pressure on a unit in a tactical situation."

Marcinko also raised concerns about some secondary missions, where SEALs train local forces in foreign countries, saying many countries wouldn't want to receive instruction from a woman.

Marcinko has employed women in combat situations before, however. When he led the famed Red Cell, a unit of SEALs and Force Recon Marines used to test the security of sensitive military sites for reconnaissance.

"I used to send women into situations where a man might stick out like a sore [thumb]," he said.

Objections aside, however, Marcinko said he was sure some women could pass the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL course.

"Some young woman...is going to bust through and prove it can be done," he said. "The question is why? I just hate to see the system being wrenched around for political correctness."

It would be interesting to meet a guy like Dick Marcinko. I read a couple of his Rogue Warrior books some years ago, but no longer have them. I wonder what he would think of WN or the rest of the military today? You think he would be on our side or is he just another green nigger, albeit a highly-trained one?

Default U.S., Ukraine kick off annual Black Sea exercise

NATObots screwing around pestering Russia when their own countries are getting invaded by subhuman Africoons and ragheads. Which shows they don't serve or protect their own countries anymore, but the Jew World Order.

Quote:
The U.S. Navy continues to wave its flag at Russia's front door.

The United States and Ukraine Sept. 1 launched exercise Sea Breeze 2015 in the Black Sea. Officials tout the 14th annual multinational exercise as a way to strengthen regional security in a volatile region driven by Russia's annexation of Crimea and the continuing civil war in Ukraine, which borders Russia.

The exercise's at-sea phase will include maritime interdictions, ant-submarine warfare, air defense, and self-defense against small boat attacks in the Black Sea--and will unfold under Russia's watchful eye. A report from the Russian news agency Interfax said Russian intelligence is monitoring every move. For example, the Russian frigate Ladny was ordered to shadow destroyer Donald Cook when it entered the Black Sea in late August.

This came as no surprise to Vice Adm. James Foggo. In a Sept. 2 phone interview, the 6th Fleet boss said the U.S. Navy maintains a near-continuous presence in the Black Sea, and "nine times out of 10, a Russian warship [is] waiting for us." This time, the Russian ship gave the added courtesy of hailing the Donald Cook and the skipper by name.

"While we are there in close proximity, we keep an eye on them as they keep an eye on us," said Foggo, a 1981 Naval Academy graduate and career submariner. "So far, it has been professional interaction. And I expect that."

Flexing military muscle in the region is the new normal. U.S. forces entered the Black Sea for Exercise Breeze and Exercise Sea Shield in July, and Exercise Trident Poseidon in May. The destroyer Jason Dunham entered the Black Sea on April 3 in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a series of NATO drills launched in April 2014 to strengthen security in response to conflict in Ukraine.

...The Russians typically respond to a NATO exercise with a show of force Foggo calls a "Snap-Ex", in which they send a large number of ships at sea for a few days.

"It is a message. Everything is strategic messaging," the three-star admiral said. "I am always impressed with that. It is not easy to get ships underway on short notice."

Last year, for example, the Russians held a large-scale war game in the Black Sea at the same time as the U.S., Bulgaria and other nations conducted multinational training.

Foggo said he was unaware of any Russian plans to conduct a Snap-Ex during this exercise, but said partner nations would be ready to respond accordingly. If it does take place, he said, "I don't have any problem with that."

Joining the co-host nations are troops from Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Moldova, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. Participants include roughly 400 U.S. sailors aboard the Donald Cook and a P-3C Orion from Patrol Squadron 9.

Default After Chattanooga shooting, new security for Marine recruiters

Quote:
MARINE CORPS BASE, QUANTICO, VA--Marine officials have ruled out arming recruiters following this summer's deadly shooting rampage in Tennessee that killed five service members, but other security measures to better protect troops are in the works, the head of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command told Marine Corps Times.

When a lone gunman opened fire on a Chattanooga Armed Forces recruiting office and a Navy Reserve center on July 16, some politicians were quick to call for military recruiters to be armed. But none of the military services are interested in arming recruiters, said Lt. Gen. Mark Brilakis, MCRC's commanding general, during a Tuesday interview here.

"The arming piece is one of those things on the recruiting side that myself and [Commandant Gen. Joseph Dunford] still have great concerns over," he said. "All the services...said they don't want to arm their folks."

"The Marine Corps has worked hard to build strong relationships with members of the communities in which they recruit," Brilakis said. "That isn't something leaders want to jeopardize."

"Whichever way you stand on the Second Amendment, recruiters showing up armed in not going to make either educators or parents comfortable."

Instead, the service will implement security measures that will allow Marines to take cover or evacuate in the event of an attack, he said. Changes being considered include more security cameras, remote-locking doors, and better ballistic protection, such as movable shields or desk partitions that could protect troops from bullets.

Marines will also continue conducting security training, Brilakis said, which proved vital to those involved in the attack on the Chattanooga facility. Anything that puts space between Marines and an attacker allows them to execute their immediate action drills.

Default Photo of military moms breastfeeding in uniform goes viral

Quote:
Former Air Force service member Tara Ruby says when she was active duty, "support for breastfeeding moms wasn't even an option to consider," according to her Facebook post.

The photographer, who was excited to hear about a nursing mom in the headquarters of Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, said she'd lend her services to donate photos to brighten up the room, according to CNN. Ruby previously served in the Air Force from 1997 to 2001.

"To my knowledge a group photo to show support of active duty mommies nursing their little's has never been done. It's so nice to see support for this here at Fort Bliss.," she said on Facebook.

A photo of active duty military moms breastfeeding in uniforms has gone viral with 8,000 shares on Facebook.

"Breastfeeding their babies doesn't make them less of a soldier, I believe it makes them a better one. Juggling the tasks and expectations of a soldier, plus providing for their own in the best way they possibly can, makes these ladies even stronger for it."

If it didn't, this fool wouldn't have felt the need to blither it up.

The fucking kikes have transformed this from a country into a kosher lunatic asylum, as they have with all the countries of the "West".

Default Soldier who attacked Afghan police commander for keeping child sex slave is SACKED

Quote:
Sergeant 1st Class Charles Martland, from Massachusetts, has been ordered to leave the US Army by November and has now been refused leave to appeal.

It comes after the 33-year-old and another soldier shoved a local commander whom he had trained, accused of raping a 12-year-old Afghan boy. He walked away with a bruising.

The Afghan commander was also said to have attacked the boy's mother when she said she was going to report the attack in war-torn Kunduz Province, where the soldiers were deployed in 2011.

Bur Sergeant Martland was reprimanded by a senior official for "flagrant departure from professionalism and even-tempered leadership" and axed.

Earlier this week, Mr. Martand, who has served as a Green Beret for 11 years, was told that his case "does not meet the criteria for an appeal."

The US Army Human Resources Command wrote in a memo to the soldier, "Consequently your request for an appeal and continued service is disapproved."
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/...-rape-attacked

It is odd Martland did not request a court-martial or the Army automatically convened one. Maybe he did, but the article doesn't mention it. It would seem a violation of UCMJ not to do this, especially when someone like that Sgt. Bales who murdered all those Afghan civilians a few years ago was court-martialed for a far worse offense.

My guess is he's being discharged because now that faggotry is OK in the ZOG military, they wouldn't want some guy like him making trouble later on.

Not to worry, I'm sure the green nigger will get hired as a blue nigger in short order.

Default US implanting chips in soldiers' brains

Quote:
The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is running a program that involves implanting chips in American forces' brains in order to create super soldiers, says a newly-published book by a well-known author.

According to "The Pentagon's Brain" by Annie Jacobsen, the secretive research arm of the US Department of Defense is dreaming of creating military cyborgs, Fusion reported Sunday.

"Neuroprosthetics" brain implants are already being tested, according to the book about the history of DARPA, published by Little, Brown and Company.

Despite several appeals by Jacobsen, the US Defense Department has refused allowing her [to] interview any of the "brain-wounded warriors."

The program also aims at fixing brains of the soldiers traumatized during the battle.

"Of the 2.5 million Americans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, 300,000 of them came home with a traumatic brain injury," Jacobsen told NPR. "DARPA initiated a series of programs to help cognitive functioning, to repair some of this damage. And those programs center around putting brain chips inside the tissue of the brain."

Last year, Defense One magazine reported that DARPA was engaged in creating brain chips to treat post traumatic stress disorder in soldiers.

"The military hopes to have a prototype within 5 years and then plans to seek FDA approval," said the magazine.

"When you see all of these brain mapping programs going on, many scientists wonder whether this will [be what it takes] to break that long-sought barrier of AI," Jacobsen said.
