WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — It was an ugly time in our past.

Now, we may soon see a permanent reminder of it.

Palm Beach County may soon create a racial lynching memorial. It’s a memorial that could raise a few eyebrows and will probably spark controversy.

But some are embracing the idea.

“It’s not anything we’re proud of, but it happened and it’s important to acknowledge our history,” county commissioner Gregg Weiss said.
