Default Gathering to pay Tribute to Skrewdriver cancelled by venue - the show will still go on...

Did not want to put this in the "events" section because the whole thing, especially now, is not going to achieve proper "event" status, more of a get together for people of like mind. Still some might be interested in the story.

Most WN know, or should know, that we are less than a month away from the 20th year since Ian Stuart Donaldson was taken from us. September 24, 1993 was the sad date of his tragic accident.

I wanted to make some effort to pay tribute to the man by holding an event/gathering for him here in the NKY/Cincinnati area. My idea was not really for a concert as I have really no contacts to pull that off, nor knowhow to set something of that nature up properly.

So I made up my mind to rent a private venue that could be a place in which I could have access to a respectable sound system and a place with seating where people could converse while having a nice dinner, pizza and refreshments, something like that. Couple hours spent listening to the music of Skrewdriver and time spent reflecting on the life and times of Ian Stuart among friends and like minded folks.

Found a place and booked a date and time, put a deposit down and was set, original date for this was to be Sunday September 22, 2013 6pm to 8pm.

Some may be critical of this, but my intent from the outset was to promote this event as open to the public, I was not going to make mention online until a few days before, but I thought it would be worthwhile to try to invite receptive folks from the public to attend with flyers that were letting on what the man stood for to a point but not too overboard. I have ALWAYS felt that a number of songs that Ian performed, such as Free My Land, Power From Profit, and House of Treason just to name a few, could actually resonate with the non-racialist patriotic movement, I mean how many of those types would like those songs and not even know it is a singer the media called "racist". Might help to show our movement in a more accurate light and show them how the media lies about us.

I knew that promoting the event through flyers and an entire episode of my local cable access TV show could lead to something like what has happened, but I thought it might also have a chance of slipping through the cracks, the anti-Whites might decide to just go about their business and, what a concept, just not go if they don't approve of the message, and I thought worst case scenario is that the news media pick up on it and I at least could get ISD and Skrewdriver a mention on TV, pretty cool thing 20 years after the man passed on.

Well after about a week of promotion, I get a certified letter in the mail. In it is a letter from some attorney's office (overkill, I think so) saying that the venue has decided to cancel the event because the values of the establishment do not agree with the values of the event, they had mentioned seeing some advertising flyers for the event. They sent along a check for the deposit and told me to cease and desist from any further advertisement.

Contacted the attorney's office and everyone was out. I am not even sure if it was legal to do this, I entered into a contractual agreement and everything, signed a single page document, no where did it say they have a right to cancel if they disagree with the message. You will note that I did not hide the purpose for the event, I entitled the event "Ian Stuart Donaldson Memorial -Still Rocking The Truth 20 Years Later" and that appears on the contract.

You had a story earlier in the week of some photography studio in New Mexico being forced to pay a queer "couple" damages because they refused to photograph their wedding - they didn't even enter into an agreement with the queers, declined from the outset if I recall, might be wrong on that I am not certain. You have venues that host concerts with Black rappers saying "kill Whitey" and any White man who protested that act being allowed to perform would be ignored or laughed at.

I am not one that is a big fan of pointing out hypocrisy or double standards, it is the way things are at the present and will be until our people collectively say "no more" but I make the mention of this only because I truly think I could sue these people and win if I felt the resources utilized to do so would result in something meaningful. I think cases like this are clearly a reason they target people like Edgar Steele, what they do to our side in this regard is often outside the law.

Because I have bigger fish to fry, especially over the next year, and do not want to spend large amounts of dollars on a court case I am leaning toward not taking any action, though I am still considering my options. I am going to request that the money I spent on advertising material be compensated since they cancelled it, not sure how much hope I have for that but I am going to try.

I thought it was very overzealous of them to contact me through a lawyer, they never made the effort to call me to discuss anything, never gave me a chance to adjust the advertising, nothing.

I have however resolved that the event will still be held in some fashion, pro-White people, people who loved the message of Ian Stuart and the man will still have a chance to gather with friends for a night of comradeship.

The venue I have chosen is not exactly ideal for a event of this nature, but the good news is that I will be able to advertise the event to the local public AND it is now scheduled for a venue I CANNOT be kicked out of for any reason. The sound system will not be what I envisioned but I will have access to a facility that will enable me to play Skrewdriver videos and music and also will have tables and chairs, I will still be able to offer free pizza and beverages to anyone who finds the time to attend.

I don't want to give the date or time on the site here, until a day or two beforehand, perhaps only by PM's. Hardly any "antis" in this area to speak of so local promotion should not cause any problems, perhaps a few lemming soccer moms but that would be worst case scenario. While I am expecting a few well built WN to attend, who would deter any filth that may slither to the venue, without a outright security plan in place I would not want to release the venue information weeks in advance as there would be a chance some scumbags would decide to travel in for the event.

There is a new day and time, very close to the original date I will say, and this gathering and celebration of a man who truly LIVED his life will go on - hope others will find some way to mark the date and the man's life.

Any VNN folks in the KY,OH,IN, Tri-State area that may want to attend feel free to PM me, would love to see you there. Anyone from any other area is also welcome, I just want to stress this is not a concert or other real large scale gathering, don't want anyone to be disappointed after making a long trip or major effort to attend. It will be a small scale event, I just wanted to do something to remember the man and give people a chance to attend something, not certain if there are any events being planned for the anniversary in the US, I know there is a big one in Britain.

Thanks for reading.
