Pegida Newcastle: Newcastle United fans hit out at far right German group
NUFC Fans United have hit out at 'anti-Islamic' group Pegida who has organised a controversial march in Newcastle on match day Concerned Toon fans have sent out a message to anti-Islamic extremists planning a controversial march in Newcastle on a match day telling them to “Remember we are black and white; we are united.” NUFC Fans United have put out the message on their website after the demonstration was announced by far right German group Pegida in the city centre on Saturday, February 28 - when Newcastle take on Aston Villa at St James’ Park. The statement reads: “The purpose of this notice is to bring to the attention the serious concerns of many Newcastle United supporters that have contacted us regarding the proposed Pediga anti Islam rally being planned in our city on 28th February and the subsequent and inevitable counter demonstration that will ensue. “The aim of the rally seems to be to protest against what they (Pediga) perceive as an Islamification of Britain. The concerns being voiced are multiple but primarily they centre around the fact that firstly this Far Right German movement have chosen the city of Newcastle upon Tyne; a city famous for its tolerance, integration and warmth of spirit to hold their rally and secondly the fact that the rally is planned for somewhere in the city centre on a match day, (when we entertain Aston Villa) and the possibility for conflict that it might bring to our wonderfully diverse and glorious city, when bigotry and intolerance replaces match day euphoria. Read more: Newcastle Pegida: Racist stickers found in pub and supermarket toilets across region “There is a fear that Newcastle United supporters who are of the Islamic faith or origin may be singled out for abuse by this group and we say that the authorities cannot allow any of our community, whatever their race, creed or religious belief to be treated in such a manner in our city on match day or any other day. “As Supporters of Newcastle United we are asking what kind of message is such a rally sending to players such as Papiss Cissé, Mehdi Abeid, Cheik Tiote and Moussa Sissoko as well as to our wider Muslim community. What kind of message does it send to those who come to study in our colleges and universities, or who visit as tourists to wonder on the splendour of our heritage history? What message does it send to those who may be offered the opportunity in the future to come and work in a city that has prided itself on its warm welcome but will now be tarred with being a city that allowed itself to be associated with those of the German Far Right. Is this the message we want our city to be remembered by and tarnished with? “If your answer is NO then please join us in ensuring that as strong a message as possible is sent out by the widest section of our Tyneside community as possible to say that this rally is unacceptable, uncalled for and not welcome on the streets of Newcastle. With the support of all like minded football supporters we hope we can all openly bring pressure to bear on the authorities and add to the pressure already being placed by other like minded groups to refuse this group the oxygen of publicity, not least because of the nature of its being but also because of the risk of conflict between football supporters on match day and those who wish to come to our city and besmirch its reputation. “Remember, we are black and white; we are UNITED.” The political activist and stand up accepted an invitation by Newcastle councillor Dipu Ahad to stand shoulder to shoulder against the “anti Islam” march. He told Ahad, who is a key figure in Newcastle’s Muslim community, he’d be at the march after the councillor contacted him on Twitter. The march will be the German anti-Islamic group’s first in the UK. The counter demonstration will be attended by Respect MP George Galloway, among others. read full article at source: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/...d-fans-8678424 |

PEGIDA UK to Bring Anti-Islamisation Demonstrations to Britain as First Meeting Given Go-Ahead
Reuters / Wikimedia Britain’s own chapter of counter-Islamisation group PEGIDA has got the go ahead from police to hold its first demonstration in Newcastle next Saturday, with speeches expected from organisers and anti-Islamism speaker Paul Weston. Speaking to Breitbart London, the leaders of PEGIDA UK said they had learnt lessons from the experiences of other PEGIDA groups in Europe, some of which have seen rapid growth, and others that have failed to gain traction. The organisers said they had specifically chosen Newcastle as a city which they felt would, like Dresden, be receptive to their warnings of rapid Islamisation, and which was a significant distance from the most active centres of English “political correctness” to avoid violent counter-protests. After weeks of negotiation, the group has now agreed with Northumbria police to hold the march through the city of Newcastle. Although PEGIDA UK, as they are known, had originally requested permission to march through the city in the evening they have instead been given an early morning slot, owning to a clash with a major football match. It is presently believed that while the PEGIDA demonstration will be ‘static’ and confined to the market place, a counter-protest organised by ‘Newcastle Unite’ will be allowed to march. Paul Weston is arrested for reading aloud from a book in 2014 / AP Paul Weston, the leader of political party Liberty-GB has been confirmed as a speaker at the event. He shot to national attention last year when he was arrested on the front steps of Winchester Guildhall for reading from a book by wartime leader Sir Winston Churchill. Quoting The River War, an autobiographical account of Churchill’s experience of recapturing the Sudan published in 1899, Weston read aloud: “Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. “Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. Once an important centre of British industry, Newcastle retains much of its fine Georgian and Victorian architecture / Wikimedia “No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith”. Despite Churchill having been voted the greatest ever Briton in a public poll in 2002, Weston was charged with committing a ‘racially aggravated crime’ for repeating his words in public. If convicted, Weston could have faced two years in jail for reading in public, but the charges were later dropped. PEGIDA UK spokesman and co-organiser Matthew Pope told Breitbart London they were going to great lengths to ensure the protest went off peacefully, saying it would be a families and ordinary people with no political background would be welcome to attend. Pope said: “The main aim is to increase awareness about extreme Islam”, and said in vetting speakers, PEGIDA UK had even taken advice from British Anti-Fascist groups, to make sure no one with extremist links could hijack the event. In a post on the official PEGIDA UK page, a statement read: “It has been brought to our attention that a variety of self proclaimed extreme right wing violent groups are planning to attend our demonstration… We welcome everybody. No matter of political nor religious background… All we ask is that people acknowledge our agenda of peaceful protest”. “We would prefer it if the media published our views and principles instead of linking us to other groups. I hope the members of these various groups will respect our agenda”. Pope also said he welcomed the local Muslim community, and people of all faiths to join the demonstration, as he believes radical Islam was every bit as bad for ordinary Muslims as anyone else. He said: “We would like the Muslim community, if they actually stand by Britain and are British, we urge them to stick with us and do this protest with us, because the extreme elements of Islam affect everyone”. Despite the offer, local media metroradio reports the invitation for Newcastle’s different communities to join together to reject extremism was rejected out of hand by a local Muslim community leader, who said supporting the group would be a “paradox”. A counter-protester is arrested in Leipzig after fireworks and bottles were thrown at police officers by left-wing ‘antifa’ groups, frustrated at being unable to get at the PEGIDA marchers / Breitbart London / Oliver Lane When discussing the United Kingdom’s first PEGIDA event, we asked Pope whether he thought there would be a repeat of events at PEGIDA marches in Germany, which have seen extremely violent counter-protests by left-wing anti-fascist groups. Although Pope said there would be strong security at the event, and he hoped the counter-protesters wouldn’t throwfireworks and glass bottles as they have in Berlin and Leipzig, he did have some concerns. Pope said there were some groups very strongly opposed to the existence of PEGIDA, remarking “they seem to have a violent agenda, but we want peace”. “One of PEGIDA’s points of principle is freedom of speech, we don’t want to stop any one else protesting or counter protesting”, said Pope. Despite that, there have already been threats towards the group, and we were told a number of potential volunteer organisers had already withdrawn due to intimidation. The German PEGIDA organisation has also seen a number of it’s organisation committee resign over harassment. Former PEGIDA spokeswoman and single mother of three Kathrin Oertel resigned her post in the group earlier this month, complaining of constant threats and being woken in the middle of the night by people climbing through her garden. Police have reassured locals that despite fears, there shouldn’t be any trouble on the day. Police Chief Superintendent Laura Young said: “The organisers from both ----- snip ----- read full article at source: http://www.breitbart.com/london/2015...iven-go-ahead/ |

Yeah. And look whose idea it was for him to attend - none other than Yvonne Ridley, the Taliban hostage who converted to Islam on her escape.

In that case someone should tell her that make-up is haraam as is defining the chest area. Otherwise people might think she is a "pretend" one working for the interests of ZOG.

German anti-Islam group Pegida marches in Britain
Tension on Tyneside as divisive organisation plans high-profile protest
Members of the Pegida movement gather for a march through Berlin last month Photo: Carsten Koall/Getty Images The cameras are still rolling at Byker Grove. These days, though, they are set high above the security fence at the edge of the grounds, next to signs warning off intruders. When the children’s soap finished its run, in 2006, producers abandoned the Victorian mansion where it was filmed. Children will soon be running around the grounds again. Not PJ and Duncan, the youth club teenagers played by Ant and Dec, but students of an Islamic academy that is planned for the site, Benwell Towers. Not everyone is happy with the proposal, however. In fact, when the Bahr Academy bought the property two years ago, the English Defence League, a far-Right group that has often clashed with police, staged its biggest-ever demonstration. It claims 5,000 members marched through Newcastle that day. As tensions rose, someone hung a pig’s head from the gates, a calculated attempt to offend. The protesters seemed to favour an empty shrine to Nineties television over a faith school. Work on the site has now begun but it remains controversial, hence the security cameras. So it was not such a surprise to learn that another march was planned for the city, next weekend. That is, until Geordies discovered the identity of the group behind the demonstration: Pegida, a populist anti-Islam movement – in Germany. It only held its first march against the “Islamisation of the West” in the German city of Dresden last October; now, it seems, it is ready to spread its message internationally. Branches have been set up in several other countries, including France and Spain, and the Newcastle demonstration next Saturday will be its first in Britain ----- snip ----- read full article at source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1142...n-Britain.html |

Newcastle prepares for first UK Pegida rally against 'Islamisation'
More than 1,000 anti-fascists and trade unionists are expected to take to the streets of Newcastle on Saturday to oppose the first demonstration in the UK by the anti-immigrant group Pegida. The group’s protests in Germany have attracted tens of thousands of people but opponents said the event in Newcastle was likely to attract a few hundred mainly far-right activists. “A hardcore of the usual suspects from the far-right fringe are due to turn up but it is unlikely to develop into anything more significant politically,” said Nick Lowles, of Hope not Hate, which monitors extremist groups in the UK. Pegida, an acronym which translates as “patriotic Europeans against the Islamisation of the west”, convulsed Germany in January when it drew 25,000 protesters to a rally in Dresden at the same time as 100,000 people marched in honour of the victims of the Paris terror attacks. Saturday’s demonstration would be its first attempt to spread the movement to the UK and opponents said the demonstration would be met by a large counter-protest supported by local MPs, Newcastle United fans, trade unionists and anti-fascists. Weyman Bennett, of Unite Against Fascism, said: “UAF and Unite Newcastle are organising a sizable opposition to celebrate Newcastle’s multicultural and multifaith community which will be very well supported.” The Newcastle MP Chi Onwurah said the protest had brought the city together. “Pegida is targeting Muslims in our community and we have to stand up and say it is wrong, Islamaphobia is wrong, anti-semitism is wrong, all racism is wrong, we can do better than this, we have done better than this when we saw off the National Front and the BNP [British National party].” She added: “Our message is about strong communities, of all faiths and none, living and working peacefully and positively together. Their message is about hatred, bigotry and division. You will see that our message wins out tomorrow.” The demonstration is due to start at 10.30am . Later the same day, Newcastle United are playing a home game at St James’ Park. Ch Supt Laura Young, of Northumbria police, said the force had plans in place to deal with the influx of people. “I have had guarantees from both organisations that this will be a peaceful demonstration,” she said. The protest is expected to attract a range of far-right activists, including groups that split from the English Defence League and senior figures from the BNP. Lowles said one of the main threats was violence between rival far-right groups. “There is real animosity between these small groups so violence is a possibility.” A spokesperson for Pegida said a turnout of between 500-700 was expected at the march, and that they were “not happy” that members of far-right groups were planning to join the protest. read full article at source: http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2...t-islamisation |

Should read UAF pretend to be Toon fans and bombard it with crap for moderators to post warning over march. Done due to their intense dislike and mistrust of working class males. UAF females - major daddy issues, UAF males, either testosterone challenged, weirdos or ivory tower middle class types. Heres some news for them, you cant control history. Muslim demographics mean we are are at the start of a west v Islam clash of cultures in Europe that is going to spiral out of control this century....This is just the start. More and more people are waking up, the fact is ISIS supporters CAGE are funded by groups like the Rowntree trust and the body shop(no pun intended). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...s-clothes.html Today, it was revealed CAGE supports a number of convicted terrorists and other jihadis who remain at large - while collecting donations from some well-known British trusts. The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust has donated more than £300,000 to the group, and The Roddick Foundation - which distributes part of Body Shop founder Anita Roddick's fortune - has donated £100,000. ‘Pegida not welcome here!’ Newcastle counter-protest to reject ‘twisted prejudice’
‘Pegida not welcome here!’ Newcastle counter-protest to reject ‘twisted prejudice’ Community leaders, politicians, union representatives and ordinary citizens have told organizers of the anti-Islam Pegida UK it is “not welcome in our city,” ahead of the group’s first UK march in Newcastle on Saturday. A counter-demonstration is expected to attract more than 2,000 people, according to local newspaper reports. Public figures, including George Galloway MP and comedian Russell Brand, are expected to speak at the anti-Pegida march. Newcastle police say they are prepared for an influx of people hours before the city’s football match kicks off, as Newcastle United play Aston Villa at St. James’ Park. Pegida, which translates from German as Patriotic Europeans Against The Islamization Of The West, has staged rallies throughout Germany and drawn thousands to the streets, both in support of its aims and to oppose it. In Newcastle, the counter-demonstration has been organized by a coalition of trade unionists and anti-fascists, including Newcastle Stop the War and the University and College Union (UCU), protesting under the banner “Newcastle Unites.” Newcastle resident David Kelly, 33, said he will join the counter-protest. “We don’t want these people in our city. They don’t belong here. We are a friendly, tolerant and welcoming place,” he told the Newcastle Chronicle. David Stockdale, a Labour Party councilor in the city, said he will also be joining the anti-fascists. “We have a proud history of standing up to intolerance and hate and to groups like Pegida who seek to do harm to our Muslim sisters and brothers,” he told the Chronicle. “Pegida paint a brutal misrepresentation of Islam. It’s important to stand up to that and for me as a non-Muslim it’s important to speak out against Pegida’s twisted prejudice.” “The Newcastle Unites counter-demonstration will show Newcastle at its best. Islamophobia targets Muslims but it hurts us all and I’m so proud of how our wonderful city has come together to march in peace and solidarity against Pegida and everything they stand for,” he added. Speaking to RT on Wednesday, Labour councilor Dipu Ahad said: “There’s no chance for them in Newcastle.” “The city is united [and] we’ve got national support. There was a clear message Pegida are not welcome. Our campaign has done a really good job showing unity, we’ve exposed them for who they are.” Social media users also expressed solidarity with the marchers. Animal rights campaigner Jon Proctor tweeted: “Come oppose the Islamophobic group PEGIDA holding a rally in Newcastle.” Twitter user @catsinbelfry, who describes herself a socialist and feminist on her profile page, tweeted: “Support us against PEGIDA UK! Retweet #NewcastleUnites tomorrow from 10.00 as we march for unity in our city. #nopegida.” When RT contacted Pegida UK for comment on the planned counter-demonstration, they replied: “Because of the time issue, being so early, numbers might not be so high!” “We don't need a gigantic following! Want to keep it any control! [sic],” they added. Rumors circulated earlier in the week that Pegida UK’s spokesperson, Matthew Pope, had resigned. The organization has since denied this, saying: “He hasn't resigned. He is taking a break from the media.” http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-10076308.html http://rt.com/uk/236279-pegida-newca...unter-protest/ |

Labour councillor Ali Babba, "Animal rights" campaigner Jon Proctor and mistress wanke can get together after the demo to perhaps share a halal kebab in community solidarity ? Afterwards Ali can give middle class feminist mistress wanke a lift home in his taxi and cop a feel of her thrupennys, but she might be a bit old for him, a community truly united in insanity

Pegida UK stages first demonstration
'Anti-Islamisation' group Pegida UK holds Newcastle march The anti-Pegida rally assembled at Gallowgate before marching to Newgate Street Continue reading the main story Related Stories About 2,000 protesters have demonstrated against the first rally in Britain by a group opposed to what it calls the "Islamisation of Europe". They gathered to oppose the UK branch of German group Pegida which congregated at Newcastle's Bigg Market. Pegida UK denied claims it was anti-Muslim and had come to "promote expression of hatred". The counter-rally marched to Newgate Street, within sight of about 400 Pegida UK demonstrators. Northumbria Police, which had a cordon separating the two camps, said five arrests had been made after isolated scuffles. Crowds had mostly dispersed by 13:00 GMT. The Pegida UK rally and counter-demonstration were largely peaceful Leader of the counter-protest organisers, Newcastle Unites, Dipu Ahad said Pegida UK's agenda was "to promote hatred". "Newcastle has not had an issue with extremism. Newcastle is not Islamified. So why come to Newcastle and break our communities?" Mr Ahad said the choice of Newcastle for Pegida UK's first rally was "bizarre", although the group said it had received "a lot of interest" from the city when it was set up. Pegida UK spokeswoman Marion Rogers said: "We are not racist, we are not fascist, we are not far-right and we're certainly not anti-Islam - we've got Muslims here with us today. "Islamisation of the West in our books is extremist Islam, extremist Muslims, basically enforcing their beliefs on us and making us feel like second class citizens in our own country. "We want integration. We are not the hate campaign we are made out to be." Reports from the first Pegida UK rally and the larger counter-demonstration At the rally: BBC News reporter Fiona Trott There were about 400 supporters of Pegida UK here, mainly from Tyneside and Wearside but also some from elsewhere in Europe. They included NHS workers, factory workers and self-employed people. The organisation says it is separate from Pegida in Germany, which has attracted tens of thousands of people at its marches there, although a German representative has come here to make a speech. It says that this is a public information exercise; that it wants to tell people that it is against extremism but is not anti-Islam, or far-right. About 30 to 40m away another police cordon was in place, behind which about 1,000 protesters against Pegida gathered. One of their spokespeople told us there was a "fine line" between free speech and hate. Bradford West Respect MP George Galloway, who travelled to join the Newcastle Unites counter-demonstration, praised the "response from local people". "The Newcastle people have handled this themselves with great aplomb and I take my hat off to them," he said. A number of Twitter users have posted messages supporting the counter-demonstrators, including one by youth circus organisation Circus Central saying Pegida was "not welcome". Posts on Pegida's Facebook page strongly urged people attending their demonstration to be peaceful. Who are Pegida? Pegida, which stands for Patriotic Europeans against the Islamisation of the West, campaigns against what it perceives as the growing influence of Islam in Europe and increasing immigration. Marches have been held in the Czech Republic, Denmark and Norway and sympathiser groups have formed in European countries such as Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The group, which was formed in Dresden, denies it is racist, but has attracted praise from far-right groups. Posts on the Pegida UK Facebook page - which currently uses an image of Newcastle's bridges on its profile - have expressed concern at "Islamification by stealth". Northumbria Police said the "vast majority" of demonstrators had been peaceful and both groups stuck to agreed plans. A number of other non-affiliated protesters attended the Pegida demonstration "As a force we respect the right to peaceful protest and take a neutral standpoint, not supporting or endorsing any groups or individuals," a spokesman said. "Our aim was to ensure public safety and to minimise disruption to the city centre during today's events." Five people from Newcastle, Halifax and South Yorkshire, aged between 17 and 54, were arrested for offences including breach of the peace, assault and being drunk and disorderly. Northumbria Police kept a cordon between the opposing sets of protesters read full article at source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-31657167 |
