Paraphrase of a memorable statement from a book on conservatism, expressing the attitude of a Southern preacher. 'The only thing the teaching of reading in public schools accomplishes is creating a market for trash literature.'

Giving the masses the capability to regurgitate the word (and preferably educating them all) is a key component of democracy.
Thus institutionalized mass education could only happen in democratic currents (and it did). Athens began to fall when they thought this was a good idea. The Roman Republic became more decadent and led to Caesarism when this happened, and if there is any God, no, wait, there isn't, if there is any alien lifeform that has superior military technology, we will be invaded by them and they will make all of the bumbling idiots fall in line. Because "he's just a man" is a sentiment that the weak masses like to fall back on as their last resort to stand by side (or above) those who are obviously superior. Also known as 'democracy'. And when that is coupled with generations of decadent softness among whites, the sludge just stays the sludge, and any strong men in it will not rise above before they are pulled down. Spengler spoke of how damaging to the strength of the white races the period of warless comfort from 1871-1914 was. "Ahh, we just want to frolic in the sun and listen to our iPods, ahh, yay". And.................. our schools breed that softness into our sons from a young age, nay, IMPOSE it! And you end up with a bunch of key-pressing neurasthenics who - forget fighting - don't even imagine having a fighting spirit, a will to dominion over others. They're like the classical Spaniard content with a few olives and maybe a plant in the corner of their little dwelling, not caring what their cities look like very much, not quite understanding the point of what 'good' society is, a society that banishes and prevents degeneracy and ugliness, nay, declares war on it. And that is why nobody mentions the Spaniards in the same breath with the other great peoples of Europe. In an ideal society, people who look like Akins are hidden in the woods somewhere in a druid costume. Oh wait............ Last edited by P.E.; November 17th, 2012 at 03:08 AM. |

We are ( supposedly ) thinking animals. The spoken - the written word, is what separates us from the beasts; well, some of us. I always had a passion for philosophy; and still do; but I quickly concluded it raises more questions than answers. You must have ( work on ) the ability to weigh a thought, an opinion, or a theory. It ain't as easy as it sounds. Except for Liberal crap; that I can spot from a mile away.

What about African Gray Parrots? They can talk like us and there is proof they have more sentience than a chimp.
What they teach us is parroting, not critical thinking and logical reasoning. You get thinking ability from living in physical hardship. The mind never develops if it incubates in a soft environment.

“Real education must ultimately be limited to men who insist on knowing.
The rest is mere sheep herding.” Ezra Pound “Properly, we should read for power. Man reading should be man intensely alive. The book should be a ball of light in one's hand.” Ezra Pound |
