I just hung up the phone with Special Agent Sheila Thorne from the FBI. (we spoke for close to 10 minutes) I told her a little about our radio show and that I'd be reading the names and addresses of the "Jena Six" scum over the air tonight on our show.

I asked he if I'd be breaking any laws. She told me that she's not an attorney, and that she can't give me legal advice.

She DID say that her office released a Press Release about their ongoing "investigation." She was VERY polite, and acted VERY professional on the phone with me. I told her there's no way I wanted to break any laws, and that I actually felt silly wasting her time asking her if it's legal to broadcast information that's readily available to the public.

I gave her my home phone number when she asked for it. I told her that I'd probably be calling her back later this afternoon.

I also told her that MY personal info is all over the Internet, and that I'd received MANY death threats in the past.

I WILL read the "Jena Six" scum's personal info on our show tonight. Make sure you tune in! Oh...and tell a friend!

I wouldn't worry too much about the live listener numbers, guys - as long as the shows are archived.
How many people can say they've heard Pierce's ADV's live? I can't, but I have listened to all of them
in archived format. It doesn't matter when people listen, so long as they can listen.

You might have posed it as a hypothetical by saying:

"If you were assigned to cover these sorts of things in my area, are there any laws that you're aware of that might subject me to arrest for putting out those telephone numbers over the air?

If she then waffled, and she surely would have, then you could have gently given her a dig questioning her qualifications and ability to do her job.
