Default Remembering an Activist: Scott ‘Hedge’ Clarke

On the evening of January 16, 2014- longtime racialist and equality activist Scott ‘Hedge’ Clark was taken from this World before his time. Those who knew Scott, both personally and as an Activist, wish that he sits well at the hand of the Father and await our next meeting.

A longtime racialist from the Boston area, Scott was known and admired by many. His quick smile and outrageous sense of humor made him an easy man to get along with. He was always quick with a wise crack and equally quick with kind words of support when they were needed. He became a close friend to all who crossed his path, offering anything he had or could do to his community. Men like Scott are rare to come across in this age, and all that knew him were blessed with his company and companionship.

Dedicating over twenty years of his life to securing the existence of our people and a future for our children, Scott showed a level of dedication to the idea that Whites deserve equal and fair representation that few operate at. He had a keen insight into the inner workings of the overall racialist movement as well as a God given gift for motivating people into action. As an organizer, few could mimic his charisma and outgoing personality- those traits made him one of New Englands most well known and productive activists.

To have met Scott was to be friends with him. At one time or another, almost every activist from Florida up to Maine have gathered around the Pool Table inside his Chelsea MA home to discuss what could be done to make things better for future generations. He not only opened up his home, but himself up to those who stood in his company. Scott was the most genuine person one could have hoped to meet. He unceremoniously cast aside all aspects of ego and narcissism in his dealings with others, putting on a real face that people automatically gravitated toward. He would accept you for your faults, share his with you, and invite you to move forward in life along side him.

You will be missed Scott. Deeply. Thank you for all you have done, and all that you were. You brought out the best in people, and in return asked for nothing.
