Christopher Maximilian Sandau, B.C. Hockey Coach, Fired Over Pro-Nazi Facebook Posts

The Huffington Post B.C.
11/06/2014

A minor hockey coach in B.C. has been fired after posting images of Nazi propaganda to his Facebook page.

The North Delta Minor Hockey Association relieved Christopher Maximilian Sandau, 33, of his coaching duties on Saturday, reported The Surrey Now.

Sandau's public Facebook profile featured several photos of Adolf Hitler and Nazisim before it was taken down on Wednesday. Images of swastikas had captions such as, "If this flag offends you, you need a history lesson" and "may god be with us and the truth prevail."

christopher sandau

Other posts questioned how many people died during the Holocaust, and accused Jewish people of controlling banks and government.

Sandau's social posts contained "extreme and objectionable material believed to be incompatible" with the hockey association's promotion of good citizenship, said president Anita Cairney in a statement released to media. "The NDMHA requires that our coaches present themselves as positive role models for our children athletes."

Sandau, however, called himself a "history buff" in an interview with CTV News, and said he feels he was unfairly fired.

He said he was a passionate coach who focused on hockey, and "wasn't trying to impose my political beliefs or anything on anyone."

But an unidentified parent told Surrey Now: "You can't be a Nazi and coach kids hockey."

Sandau, who lives in Langley, played professional hockey in Germany, where he visited memorial sites of concentration camps, reported the newspaper. He said the Nazis were "not that evil as we're told."

He also told Surrey Now: "I get it, it's a really touchy subject."

Sandau coached players between 11 to 14 years old, reported News 1130.

CKNW radio host Drex interviewed Sandau on Wednesday evening — and opted not to air it because it was "deeply hateful," he said on Twitter. "I was shocked during the interview, I could not believe what I was hearing."

The hockey association apparently told Sandau he could keep his job if he made his Facebook posts private, but he told CTV he turned it down on principle.

Cairney said the association is not commenting any further based on advice from legal counsel, reported The National Post.

Re: Unemployed youth should work for free,

Dear Sir:

Re: “Poloz’s tip for youth: Try working for free” (National Post, November 5, 2014), the advice of Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz is insulting. Volunteering should be a part-time commitment of employed or retired people, not a resume entry for unemployed youth.

Your report notes: “The central banker made the remarks a day after he told a Toronto business audience that 200,000 young Canadians are out of work, underemployed or back in school to improve their job prospects.”

Instead of wasting their youth doing volunteer work, they should be protesting outside the offices of the Minister of Immigration. With 200,000 young Canadians out of work, he has just announced the largest immigration intake in decades, 285,000 next year. And that’s in addition to the 265,000 this year, and, of course, the 491,000 temporary foreign workers.

As a further slap in the face to Canada’s 1.5-million unemployed and 900,000 underemployed involuntary part-time workers, Immigration Minister Chris Alexander actually insisted that this goosed up intake would help the economy. In a bizarre Hallowe’en announcement, he said: “We will welcome a record number of individuals who will contribute to our economy and labour market.”

The government continues to follow a callous policy of wage suppression and high unemployment. As for our own unemployed youth, let them do unpaid volunteer work? It’s a scandal!

Diverse multiculturalism, and foreigner privilege

By Robert James
Your Ward News

Family doctors, employment opportunities, free monies, affordable housing and social benefits. Third world immigrants wanted, no Irish or dogs need apply. Keep repeating the endless mantra of diversity, rigidly instilled in the Canadian subconscious from our cradle by the compulsory indoctrination centers of public education. Don’t turn off the emotional side of your brain, which via politically correct engineering ignores basic logic, reason and facts. We live in a global society, our politicians and public sector unions worked hard to build this brave new utopia. If they want to sell out our national blood to achieve their ends, so be it. No referendum was ever held in the latter half of the 20th century to abandon our European-Christian Heritage, nor did we vote for any relentless campaign to lower our standards of living and indeed our very cultural makeup.

I am appalled, looking down at the copies of several application forms I have filed out over the years to apply for a family doctor that have been roundly ignored because of my family religion, race, country of birth and native language. Yes, these are all questions found on the very application form from the East End Community Health Centre, among other health practitioners. I have not seen a doctor my entire teenage and adult life, my Ontario Health Insurance is fully up to date and I figured years ago it was time for my first physical and blood test in at least 15 years. Though by answering the questions truthfully as a white protestant English speaking Canadian and putting down Ulster Scots as my ethnic group, my application gets introduced to Mr. Paper Shredder fairly quickly. There in black and white it racistly states they prioritize individuals based on `culture and language barriers`. Though if I was a Swahili speaking Animist from Mozambique lacking in provincial health insurance, I would not have any problems. With public sector union backed protestors constantly demanding the Interim Federal Health Programme give refugees more medical care, it is clear that Canadians are not a protected special interest group to our new socialist bureaucracy.

The discrimination against White English speaking born-Canadians is self evident everyday in this country. So much so, while rarely discussed in fear of accusations of racism, the government does not even hide it. While the C.B.C. job posting demanding “any race except Caucasian” as a required criteria garnished a minimal backlash, it did not change long standing socialist policy to replace Canadians. Under employment equity preference will be given to visible minorities, regardless of qualifications. Even in the private sector, the "temporary" foreign worker programme has utterly destroyed the earnings, hours, benefits and employability of natural Canadians.

The federal government alone spends $23.6 billion a year on immigration services, with no net benefits. Toronto has been declared a `Sanctuary City` where illegal and undocumented immigrants have free access to all services and handouts, with discussions among our leftist city councillors on changing the law and allowing non-Canadian citizens the municipal vote.

One young mother I know is required to pay all of her meagre disposable income for daycare services, while at the same community centre it is provided at no cost to those taking the English as a Second Language course. Many Canadian couples simply can not afford to have children, or those that do dare not consider having a basic replacement rate of two children – ignorantly waiting for some type of economic improvement. Even the Vancouver Sun in the article "High birthrate among immigrant women has implications for Canada" states "New immigrants to Canada are much more likely to have babies than their native-born counterparts." If you can wave mainstream media off as hate speech, just visit Richmond next time you are in Metro Vancouver.

This is a world wide pandemic, Western civilization itself is being displaced by a globalist agenda. Combined, the various spellings of Muhammad make up the single most popular male baby name in the Great Britain! Using American census figures, NBC News reported Whites are projected to become the "minority" race in the United States by 2042. The major nations of the European Union can not roll out the red carpet fast enough to keep pace with the need to artificially inflate population to the detriment of there own people. Modern debt based monetary policy requires exponential growth, as do all Ponzi schemes. In an effort to back up our ever growing unfunded liabilities and financial bonds, population must increase in order to acquire more currency in the form of debt.

Our education system has even re-written our entire history, cherry picking white guilt while ignoring the contributions of the founding settler population. It was only a few decades ago, though long forgotten n the minds of Canadians that we had our own culture and heritage. Forgotten, just as Tiananmen Square is to a Chinese school boy.

Do you really think it was coincidence that in the space of just the latter half of the last century politicians changed the flag of Canada from the Red Ensign, replaced our pro-British Dominion national anthems The Maple Leaf Forever and God Save the Queen, created the special interest group serving Charter of Rights and Freedoms, allowed banksters to create debt-based currency out of thin air while removing precious metals from circulation, sent most manufacturing jobs overseas while selling out our national resources, and opened up the doors to unquestionable massive third world immigration?

If all that does seem like unrelated coincidences to you, ask yourself why has almost every major western nation done the exact same thing around the same time? Global governance is not in the works… it arrived long ago. Nobody seemed to notice back then, nobody seemed to care, but speak against it today and get a first hand taste of our own political kangaroo court of conditioned public opinion and "human rights". As the force and power of government grows – liberty, privacy, and individuality is lost to the collective hordes under the fist of Marxist politicians, thieving banksters and consenting sheep.

I leave you with this quote from the 10th Prime Minister of Canada, William Lyon Mackenzie King: "That Canada should desire to restrict immigration from the Orient is regarded as natural, that Canada should remain a white man's country is believed to be not only desirable for economic and social reasons but highly necessary on political and national grounds... The people of Canada do not wish as a result of mass immigration to make a fundamental alteration in the character of our population. Large scale immigration from the Orient would change the fundamental composition of the Canadian population... We must seek to keep this part of the Continent free from unrest and from too much intermixture of foreign strains of blood."

Hot Money From China is Inflating Vancouver real Estate Values; Local Authorities Sit on Their Hands

http://www.vancouversun.com/business...459/story.html

An interesting article. Interesting in that the subject of Canada does not come up until three-quarters of the way through the article. Yes, we must be very, very careful when discussing China's influence on Canada, lest we upset the purveyors of the Canada-China Cultural Integration Campaign.

" Many economists have noted the lopsided U.S. trade deficit with China is “the largest deficit ever recorded with a single economy in global history.” The U.S. is going broke while the Communist government is rolling in cash. China is more than happy to own a large portion of American debt because buying U.S. Treasury notes allows China keep its own currency weaker than the dollar. This keeps products exported from China cheaper than American products, creatingmillions of new jobs for the Chinese people (while destroying millions of middle-class jobs in the U.S.)

Brad: This short summary of US - China tells it like it really is. Unfortunately, the Canadian media rarely indulge in a straight up, honest depiction of how China's government deals with international trading partners, including our beloved Canada.

"Millions of Chinese people are also dying of cancer thanks to intense pollution. These concerns have resulted in a huge increase in the number of newly rich Chinese people secretly buying high-end real estate in major western cities like Los Angeles, London and Vancouver — all financed by western consumers."

Brad: Ask yourself: Have you ever read about the cancer-pollution component of the exodus from China in a Canadian news publication? I haven't, and I follow these issues on a daily basis. What's the big secret?

"Another report by the Bank of China titled “How Corrupt Officials Transfer Assets Overseas” estimated that as many as 18,000 Communist party officials have fled China with hundreds of billions of dollars. Each official looted, on average, an estimated $7 million. No bureaucrats in Canada seem to question where all these instant fortunes have somehow emanated."

Brad: While Canadians prepare for Halloween, they remain unaware that multicultural organizations such as Canada China Business Council and Asia Pacific Foundation are successfully lobbying our government to transfer allegiance from democratic USA to communist China. While Canadians are busy preparing their costumes, Multicult leaders likeYuen Pau Woo continue to push our government leaders to infuse our education system with Chinese language education, in preparation for the largest cultural transformation in Canadian history.

"[Saskatchewan-Asia Advisory Council], wants to see more Mandarin language classes taught in Saskatchewan schools as soon as possible, starting with primary schools." Nuff said.

"The vast majority of investor immigrants opted for a financing program offered through the banks, which quietly fronted the loan requirement. Banks also received fat commissions, from which agents overseas charged with finding candidates also earned a fat fee. It was a gold mine for the facilitators, the agents, banks and Vancouver property developers."

Happy Halloween, my fellow countrymen and women- - what is being presented as a treat is nothing more than a trick.

Sincerely,
Brad Saltzberg

We "Small-Minded" Canadians, eh?

Yuen Pau Woo, former President of China-funded Asia Pacific Foundation, and current President of China Global Foundation says:

"Unlike other letter writers who appreciated my look at the large number of Hong Kong immigrants who have left Canada, Yuen Pao Woo assumed, for some reason, the column was meant to “scandalize” and “disparage.” He said it reflected “small-minded” Canadians."

Brad: It is interesting how often this phrase is used by those who want to destroy Canadian culture. It seems whenever there is opposition to this agenda, Canadians are branded as "small minded."

What exactly does Mr. Woo mean by this? For him, the following Canadians are small minded:

- Canadians who value our historical identity, including our unique bi-cultural[English/French] identity

- The majority of Canadians, as poll after poll, including Asia Pacific Foundations own polls, say that Canadian interest in China is diminishing.

-Canadians who prefer to respect Canada's Official Languages of English and French

Canadians who respect the democratic process, and democratic institutions of our country.

- Canadians who believe a Canadian education should not be inundated and infused with Chinese Communist Government propaganda.

That's alot of us. In fact, one can easily state this is the majority of us. Let the will of the public rule! Let democratic process decide if Canada REALLY WANTS Mr. Woo's "Asian Vision" for our country.

Sincerely,

Brad Saltzberg

Lifesite News: Judge reserves in Whatcott & LaBarbera case
Postby Bill Whatcott » Mon Nov 03, 2014 8:11 pm

Judge reserves judgment in case of pro-family activists arrested at University of Regina
Mon Nov 3, 2014
Steve Weatherbe
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/judge ... at-univers

A Regina judge has reserved judgement for nearly two months after hearing evidence in the case of two prominent Christian activists who were arrested last year at the University of Regina for opposing homosexuality.

On trial Friday for committing “mischief” at the University of Regina was Saskatchewan pro-life and anti-homosexual Christian activist Bill Whatcott and American counterpart Peter LaBarbera [i have met LaBarbera when I was in DC, he's a good guy - battling homos takes real guts, even if he's a typical christian in most ways] of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality.

Provincial Court Judge Marylynne Beaton reserved judgment till December 22.

But Whatcott was acquitted in 2012 of an identical charge for pamphleting at the University of Calgary in 2008. In both cases school security staff instructed Whatcott to leave, and when he refused he was arrested (in the second case, so was LaBarbera) and charged.

Two Alberta courts found that a public university is covered by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which protected Whatcott’s freedom of expression. Whatcott said he expected the Regina case to go the same way—but much faster. “The evidence from the video was right there,” Whatcott told LifeSiteNews. “We were just talking with students on the sidewalk. We were not disrupting anything. If we’d been handing out fliers in a classroom it would be different.”

In cross-examination, Whatcott got into a heated argument with Crown Prosecutor James Fitzgerald, who told him, “You believe you are above the law.” Retorted Whatcott: “It’s the University of Regina that is acting as if it is above the law.” Fitzgerald also dismissed an earlier prosecution of Whatcott as his “litter case,” but Whatcott quickly countered that he had been acquitted. When Fitzgerald asserted that Whatcott knew he was violating the university’s “Respectful Workplace” policy, Whatcott responded that he knew that the policy violated his rights.

He explained to LifeSiteNews: “If homosexuals display their genitalia, Christians are supposed to suck it up, but if Christians say Jesus forgives sinners it’s a violation.”

In the Alberta case against Whatcott, the courts there ruled that public universities are public, not private property, that as universities dedicated to fostering the exchange of ideas they should welcome and encourage free speech, and that when they stopped Whatcott from pamphleting they interfered with his Charter rights.

Whatcott’s lawyer Michael Weger made the same argument in Regina provincial court, even citing a clause from the university’s own literature stating it was a place for “communicating ideas.” Asked Weger: “Communicating ideas is exactly what happened here. Isn’t university about different ideas and different viewpoints?”

Click "like" if you want to defend true marriage.

The two men handed out pamphlets last year, debated students, and carried such messages as “Nature Discriminates Against Homosexuality,” “Sodomy Spreads Disease,” and “Sodomy is Sin.”

It was when she saw this last sign that University of Regina security chief Pat Patton said she decided to call police. The messaging violated the school’s “Respectful Workplace” standards, a policy which apparently allows no room for the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Neither do Canada Customs officials, apparently. They held up LaBarbera for several hours of questioning about his views on homosexuality, and seized a Russian-made video about homosexuality called Sodom.

LaBarbera has returned to the United States. Whatcott said he will come back only if he is convicted—for sentencing. “He believes that Canada is several rungs below the U.S. when it comes to freedom of expression, and I have to agree with him,” said Whatcott, who has won most of a dozen or so cases, but lost a big one in the Supreme Court of Canada, which upheld a Saskatchewan Human Rights Tribunal fine of $17,500 for distributing so-called hate literature.

Any caucasians remaining in the metro vancouver area are probably race-mixing or profiting from the asian tsunami that's still washing ashore here.

Schools here are majority chinese; workplaces, trades, just about everything in the social fabric is overwhelmingly asian--the only place where whites are over-represented is among the homeless. In fact the only non-white homeless are native indians.

An un-examined effect of this displacement is that remaining whites are very suspicious of one another due to the high likelihood of another white being enmeshed in the multi-cultural matrix through race-mixing or other circumstances that ally them with the official government policy of white replacement.

Reply to York University Student Paper's Query: What Will You Do for Students?

Divyesh Mistry,
Executive Editor,
Excalibur Newspaper,
YORK UNIVERSITY

Dear Mr. Mistry:

I am attaching my transportation programme. I shall try to answerr your specific questions briefly.

1. Why should students vote for you?: "I am the only candidate with a coherent transportation plan to fight traffic gridlock. Part of that plan is to lobby the federal government to impose a five year moratorium on all immigration. the major cause of traffic gridlock in the GTA is mass immigration. However, with 1.5-million Canadiabns out of work and another 900,000 involuntarily in temporary jobs, there is no justifiable reason for any immigration. Immigration blights the future of students hitting the job market and our own vulnerable people. It suppresses wages. It is unfair to many newcomers who do not find the opportunities for which they'd hoped.

2. How would you ease the commutes of post-secondary students going to school and work? I would make fighting traffic gridlock my major priority. It involves co-operation by three levels of government.

3. What are your plans for to decrease youth unemployment, especially for new grads? I would press the federal government for a five year moratorium on all immigration or until we achieve full employment (usually considered an unemployment rate of 2 per cent)> Many recent grads have faced high levels of unemployment and stagnant wages. This situation is exacerbated by endless floods of newcomers. I would forbid the use of job stealing temporary foreign workers by the City of Mississauga or any company supplying it with goods and services. Jobs must go to Canadians first!

Guess who isn't coming to Dinner?
Homeless Canadians--- like homeless Canadian dogs--- go to the back of the line

By Tim Murray
October 14, 2014

Thanksgiving has come and gone, but one lingering thought remains.

One might recall a news item about Canadians who went to California to rescue 200 dogs that were slated to be put down by the ASPCA. They had them flown to Vancouver! Many other Canadians have recruited rescue dogs from other countries too—especially developing countries. One of them, from Abbotsford, B.C., has airlifted over 200 stray dogs from India. Of the estimated 525 million dogs in the world, 200 million are without owners--semi-feral dogs who feed off human garbage at the outskirts of third world cities across the world. New Delhi alone has 250,000 of them. Bali 500,000. These are just two examples of a horrific crisis. In other words, the line of needy dogs is endless. To most Western visitors, the spectacle is both shocking and sad. Very sad. No wonder some are moved to adopt them.

But this compassionate practice begs the question. Why would anyone go to another country or continent to rescue dogs when there are THOUSANDS of dogs in Canada who languish in animal shelters with a death sentence hanging over them? Why don’t these globe-trotting dog rescuers direct their compassion toward homeless or ownerless dogs here?

The same question could be asked of the idealistic and compassionate Canadians involved with "Share Thanksgiving", an organization which seeks to "build bridges" with recently arrived "New" Canadians and connect with them by getting folks to invite them to Thanksgiving dinner. Why don't they instead "connect" with the many people in their own cities and even in their own neighbourhoods who live in poverty and social isolation? People like those in Vancouver's Downtown East Side? What accounts for this apparent "need” to reach out to new arrivals and those in foreign lands to demonstrate one's generosity and compassion?"

Two things."Pathological Altruism" and cultivated 'xenophilia" --the perverse love of the outsider , the foreigner, at the expense of people close to home. Why is xenophobia depicted as a pathology but xenophilia not? Answer: We----and especially the younger generation processed through the post-secondary boot-camps of political correctness----have been systematically shaped by the political culture of “Cultural Marxism” which forms the matrix of conventional and socially acceptable thinking in this country. Thus more and more of us have been persuaded that “Canada is Home to the World”, that “No One is Illegal”, and that we should regard ourselves--not as Canadians, but as ancient Athenian statesman Demothenes would put it, “citizens of the world”. It is not surprising that two members of “Share Thanksgiving” have been associated with “Engineers without Borders”.

In many respects, there are parallels between the mentality of dog rescuers who bring in stray dogs from third world countries and the Canadian immigration industry which recruits largely third world immigrants. As Patty Strand of the National Animal Interest Alliance put it, “Pretending that rescuing dogs from developing countries with ongoing rabies epidemics is helping solve problems, is not only short-sighted, it’s dangerous. At best it represents a shallow form of sentimentality, not true kindness. At worst, importing street dogs is a cynical form of old fashioned greed on the part of the organizations and businesses that are trading in them.” Similarly our immigration policy is a cynical form of greed on the part of organizations and businesses who profit from ‘rescuing’ people from failed states, people who will work for the minimum wage and out-compete and displace the native work force, depressing wage levels and accelerating the vicious “race to the bottom” that afflicts our society . Mass immigration is largely driven by a mercenary motive cloaked in the language of compassion, tolerance, diversity and “shallow sentimentality”. Importing “New Canadians” from failed states like Iraq is as mad as importing the marauding packs of dogs who roam Baghdad.

"Share Thanksgiving" blatantly justifies its project by putting it in the context of the "Big Picture". The big picture being that Canada is, as their mantra goes, a nation of immigrants, that immigrants ‘built this country’, and that immigrants will continue to do so. So it is necessary to make these immigrants feel at home, and a good way of doing that is to invite them to our homes for Thanksgiving dinner. If we do that, the practice will surely catch on. It should because Canada, you see, is a "Welcoming" country. But that is not enough for “Share Thanksgiving”. Their slogan is “Let's make Canada the most welcoming nation in the world". “So open your doors, put out the welcome mat, and get ready to show off (or sell off?) Canada!”

Indeed, the immigration lobby barks with enthusiastic approval : “Let's bring as many diners to the national table as we can.” Even while many of our own people are going without food. “Bring’em on in!” But, one might ask, “How many 'diners' does the political class intend to invite into this country?” Not just as guests, but as permanent residents. It should be pointed out that Canada already has the highest per capita intake of immigrants in the world and immigrants and their children have, since 1991, accounted for roughly seven million extra citizens.

This prompts more questions. Since we are paving our farmland to build the subdivisions needed to accommodate them, will we have enough food for everybody? 78 million "diners" are being added to the world's population every year. The queue never shortens. Do they think that we should receive and feed all of them? Do they think we can farm the Canadian Shield and the Arctic tundra? Do they think that Canada has an unlimited carrying capacity? The Science Council of Canada once said that, owing to resource shortages, our population level should not exceed what it currently is. Modern agriculture depends on fossil fuel. What happens when oil prices skyrocket, as many predict?

Let’s be clear. I am not knocking youthful idealism or generosity. Idealism and generosity are good things. But we live in a world of scarcity. And Canada is no exception—despite its billing as an affluent society. There are not an infinite amount resources to "go around". Choices have to be made and priorities set.

So the ultimate and fundamental questions to be addressed are these: To whom are we to direct our generosity? To established Canadians, or to the unending millions whom the immigration lobby would have us "embrace"? Should not charity begin at home?

Should we neglect disadvantaged Canadians in the same way as our cosmopolitan dog-rescuers neglect disadvantaged Canadian dogs--as an after-thought, as beings who warrant less consideration?

Dealing With "Diversity" -- Another Report by the Voice of the Workingman, Former Political Prisoner, Brad Love

Wow! After 36 days of straight work, I get 4 days off! I drop by the CIBC to do my banking, cashing, my $3600, 2-week paycheck on which I paid $2300 above that as tax. Hey, someone's gotta fund Harper's foreign adventures and Israeli vacations. The CIBC bank had a table set up on which to sell used books for $1 each to raise cancer funds. Meanwhile, CIBC paid a $2 billion fine in the Enron scam. Tacky or what!

Drop by the RBC or TD banks and lineups are long as temporary foreign workers send money abroad, which is time consuming. Billions are funneled from Canada annually. Yet, no one says a thing. Everywhere I go, Africans, Jamaicans and Filipinos serve me while Ontario has almost hundreds of thousands of bums collecting welfare.

At the mall, I'm accosted by cosmetic kiosk staff who urge me to buy/sample their overpriced made-in-China potions. They're Israelis, of course. Mica Bella is the company and what they're doing up here is a mystery. They can also be found in malls throughout Ontario and other provinces.

Although, I never gamble (volunteer taxation), I attend the Native-owned casino, where I buy one beer and a mixed drink for $20.49. Say what!!! All the card dealers are mainland sullen-looking Chinese who resemble extras in a Chinese gangster flick. I run into an old work buddy of mine who whines of how 'he lost 8 grand in the casino last month. Yet, he still returns for more fleecing. Uniformed RCMP roam through the casino floor while outside, crackheads, hawkers, the homeless and Filipino women solicit funds for the children in their homeland. Whatever!

I do work with a Filipino guy, who's sole intention is to make the money then leave Canada and take everything with him to the Philippines. More dollars flushed out of Canada. The Philippines has 100 million people, 10% work abroad, 70% of them are women. Islam is growing like a wild weed over there as well.

At the Wal-Mart store, I'm asked to donate 2 bucks when I've paid for my goods. A table of Girl Guides seeks more of my money.

Now, I just know these I-phone-equipped kids have a dad who works at Suncor, makes $180,000 a year and has two snowmobiles, a boat and a super truck in his garage and I bring this up to their moms who look at me with a stunned expression. Seriously!!! You dumbass slugs. The gov't has already robbed me. May I keep what's left of my wage without some privileged, entitled mushwit begging for more of my dollars.

On this date, I attended a Federal Auction Service, high-end jewelery action being held at the local high-end native-owned hotel. These auctions and their slick advertisement campaigns are all over Ontario and are nothing but fronts to hawk afghan rugs to a gullible public. At the front door, they demanded that I leave them my driver's licence, which I declined to do. This Stalinist bullshit is everywhere. Even at the local strip joint, they wave you down with a metal detector, which is why I've never been therein. It's bad enough cops/jail guards abuse me like this but when regular citizens try to shackle me like this, I leave and give nothing to their biz.

As for a gunmen running into the House of Commons, is Harper's love affair with racist crook Israel endangering us all? And all of those cops who rushed in to rescue their political masters --- remember, such blind obedience when your car is broken into etc. and cops claim they're too busy to send someone around to take a report.

Freedom of Speech in Canada? No way! Hockey Coach Fired for Pro-National Socialist Facebook Comments

Free to hold controversial views? Not in politically correct Canada!

Doug Christie often warned: "It doesn't matter what is written in constitutions or Charters of Rights and Freedoms. You only have those rights you are prepared to fight for."

Freedom of speech and freedom of thought are very much in peril in Canada today. Many people just don't get it.

Christopher-Maximillian Sandau posted some of his historical views on his Facebook page. He expressed doubts about the 6-million claim -- an article of faith more sacred in political correctness than the divinity of Christ is for Christians. He felt German World War II villainy is exaggerated.

The Langley, BC man's main love in life is coaching amateur hockey. He never tried to indoctrinate the young hockey players. However, when the contents of his Facebook page became known, the local hockey league promptly dismissed him.

So, the man is fired for nothing more than the non-violent expression of his political/historical views on his own time. Some anonymous (of course!) parent even pontificates: " You can’t be a Nazi and coach kids hockey." Well, what if you're a communist, a homosexual activist, or a Zionist? Mr. Sandau denies being a supporter of National Socialism, but, even if her were, so what?

More than ever, CAFE and free speech supporters have our work cut out for us in convincing Canadians of the sacred importance of freedom of thought and freedom of speech.

"A minor hockey coach in British Columbia has been fired for posting pro-Nazi content on his Facebook page, conceding to one local reporter following his dismissal: 'I get it, it’s a really touchy subject.' Christopher Maximilian Sandau was formally relieved of his duties on Saturday, after the North Delta Minor Hockey Association discovered his online activities. He was coaching teams with players the age of middle school students.
'Hockey has been my life,' Sandau told The Surrey Now, a paper headquartered about an hour’s drive east of Vancouver. 'My view on the history basically got me canned. A lot of people have no idea about the other side of the story.'

'The posts contained extreme and objectionable material believed to be incompatible with an important purpose of our minor hockey association: ‘To promote and encourage good citizenship,’ association president Anita Cairney said in a release. 'The (hockey association) requires that our coaches present themselves as positive role models for our children athletes.' ...

The Surrey Now quoted an unidentified parent: 'You can’t be a Nazi and coach kids hockey.'

A Facebook page under Sandau’s name was pulled down late Wednesday afternoon. Before it disappeared, it was a curated library of sympathetic Nazi images and commentary. One of the most recent posts had been made on Tuesday, featuring a photograph of an undated Nazi rally under the caption: 'Not too many speakers get the attendance of over a million people from far and wide…'

'I was doing a good job and I wasn’t trying to impose my political beliefs or anything on anyone,' Sandau told CTV. “From the time I stepped onto the parking lot of the arena to the time I left, I was all about hockey and trying to help the kids get better.”

Sandau, a 33-year-old resident of Langley, B.C., told The Surrey Now he considered himself 'a big history buff,” and claimed of the Holocaust: 'There is no such plan, there was no idea.'

'These people died from typhus,' he told the paper. 'The Germans were actually doing their best to save these people. These people were not that evil as we’re told.'" (National Post, November 5, 2014)

Blasting the Persecution of Christopher Sandau

http://www.thenownewspaper.com/news/...ook-1.1496455#

Tom Zytaruk
The Now Newspaper.

So let me get this straight. Somebody with a politically incorrect belief system who did not share it with the kids he taught or coached should be fired because a person who holds such beliefs must be regarded as a poor "role model". As one parent said, "You can't be a Nazi and coach kids' hockey".

OK then. Can you be a fundamentalist Christian and coach kids' hockey? For a great many people, fundamentalist Christian beliefs are politically incorrect. Members of the Law Society in this province, for example, recently voted for a policy that would deny graduates of the Trinity College law school accreditation because of principles thought to be, well, "politically incorrect".

Can you express support for the Conservative Party of Canada on your Facebook page and coach kids' hockey? After all, many supporters of the Green, Liberal and NDP parties would consider Conservative ideas, particularly social Conservative ideas "politically incorrect".

But hey wait, you say. Comparing fundamentalist Christians and Conservatives to Nazis is absurd. Nazism is a totalitarian ideology associated with the commission of some of the most horrendous crimes in human history. But guess what? So is Communism. In fact the "body count" of Comrade Stalin or Mao is many times greater than Hitlers'. Funny though, many people with a Communist past in Canada, like former BQ leader Gilles Duceppe for example, were never held accountable by the media for it. In Canada, being a student Marxist has been treated almost like a rite of passage, a forgiveble stage of growing up. Those with a Nazi past, though, were hounded and deported.

Throughout the sixties and seventies and eighties, Leftists and progressives decried the persecution of the "Hollywood Ten" and others, like Pete Seeger, who were blacklisted for their alleged Communist sympathies. (But according to recent revelations by Washington Post journalist and author Diana West, many of these allegations were based on fact.) More than that, at least in Canada, many self-described Communists served on city councils, unions, school boards and taught in schools. Hmm. Interesting. It is also interesting no one on the Left seems to have a problem with a guy getting fired for his far-right beliefs or sympathies or associations.

That leads me to wonder. If Mr. Sandau made his Facebook page "a shrine for Communism", do you think he would have been fired?

Would he have been fired if he questioned the estimated number, 8 million, of Ukrainians killed in the Holomodor, which has long been established as a Plan to wipe put the kulaks? A great many, if not most members of the Canadian Communist Party at one time publicly denied that the Ukrainian "Holocaust" happened, but no one demanded that they be fired. No one, I seem to remember, ever stated that you can't be a Communist and coach kids' hockey (or teach kids in classrooms, as many of them did).
The double standards and hypocrisy over this issue astounds me. But then again, in Canada, it has become par for the course.

Malcolm Ross---a published anti-semite, was fired from his teaching job in New Brunswick even though he was well regarded by students as a good Math teacher who never shared political views with them. The School Board, as I recall, made the argument that Ross, given his off-hours views, presented students with a poor role model. I don't recall the Civil Liberties Union rising to his defence. Meanwhile, in BC, the BC Civil Liberties Union defended a teacher in North Vancouver who was fired by a Catholic School Board when it was learned that he was living common law.

The Board argued that he was a bad role model for Catholic students and that he had violated the values of the school. The BCCLU argued that what this teacher did in his private life was irrelevant to his competence as a teacher. I guess it all depends whose ideological ox is being gored.

In the wake of this story about Mr. Sandau's firing, I am going to have to take a gravol tablet on Remembrance Day, when once again, I will undoubtedly hear someone say "They died so that we could be free". Free? Free to say only things that are deemed to fall within the pale of socially acceptable discourse? Free to repeat only approved history? Is bona fide history only to be written and interpreted by the victors, as Herman Goering cynically said? Apparently.

I had two uncles who fought in the war to rid Europe of Adolph Hitler. One of them didn't come back. I don't believe that either one of them, if they could speak from the grave, who be happy with the kind of country that Canada has become, a place where more and more, people must be worried about what they say. No wonder many have come to regard Canada as a "Soft Totalitarian State".

McCarthyism---from the Right or, as is now the case, from the Left, -- is totally unacceptable. No one should lose his job simply for expressing abhorrent political views.

Tim Murray

PS Please feel free to copy this email to the gutless wonders who serve on the North Delta Minor Hockey Association. No doubt their decision has earned plaudits in every self-righteous bastion of PC groupthink across the land.

Temporary Foreign Workers Will "Save" Canadian Jobs -- Give Me A Break!

I dropped into a Tim Horton's donut shop this morning in Westbank, British Columbia. On the wall, I saw the poster below urging customers to write their MPs to lift a temporary ban on temporary foreign workers in some low end service industry jobs. The poster made the preposterous claim that, without temporary foreign workers, some restaurants would have to scale back hours or close altogether -- in a nation with 1.5-million Canadians out of work and another 900,000 involuntarily in part-time jobs!
The poster was the work of a lobby group called Restaurants Canada, giving a url of protectingcanadianjobs.com -- a website which has since disappeared.

The poster contended "In some markets, restaurant owners would have to scale back their business or even close their doors without those temporary [foreign] workers." So, to save Canadian jobs, allow hordes of "temporary foreign workers." So to fight alcoholism, should we have another double Scotch?

Most fast food restaurants depend on volume for profitability. They need a large and constant customer base; therefore, they need to be in population centres. And such centres have unemployed entry level workers. In the odd employment hot spots, like Fort McMurray in the high wage oilsands of Alberta, fast food outlets may have to work a little harder and (ee gads, offer higher wages) to attract the workforce of youth, housewives, Aboriginals and the retired to staff their restaurants. If that mean slightly higher local food prices, so be it.

A website called Creekside wrote a blistering critique of this "save Canadian jobs by importing foreign workers" idiocy.

Immigration Watch Canada Holds Protest in Richmond "Fight Gridlock; Cut Immigration"

Congratulations to Immigration Watch Canada for holding a protest today (November 19) in Richmond, BC., calling attention to the role constant mass immigration has in Vancouver (and Toronto/Mississauga) in contributing to traffic gridlock.

Immigration Watch Canada spokesman Dan Murray explained: "“Since that time, Ottawa has never provided a single iota of justification from bringing in 250,000 people,” he said. “Our current immigration intake is an abnormality in Canada’s immigration history. It’s causing all kinds of problems. One of which is traffic gridlock.”

Exactly! With 1.5-million Canadians out of work and another 900,000 involuntarily in part-time jobs, just what are next year's increased flood of 285,000 immigrants going to do?

Just two possibilities: 1. Get a job and keep a Canadian unemployed -- Canada loses; or 2. Not get a job and have to be supported on welfare and in public housing and with medicare -- Canada loses.

Balwant Sanghera, Director of the Richmond Multicultural Community Services ,disagrees and is sure Ottawa knows what it's doing. [Yes, replacing the European founder/settler people of this country just as fast as it can.]

Now, Mr. Sanghera is not exactly a disinterested individual. He is part of a nearly $1-billion yearly boondoggle of "immigrant services and settlement groups." Why, if we had properly screened immigrants, would we have to shovel out a further $1-billion a year to help settle them?

His group gets federal and provincial money, although it gives no details on its website. However, we found that, according to a B.C. Government press release, in February, 2013, "Pat Bell, Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training and Minister Responsible for Labour, announced today that 51 new community projects worth over $8.5 million will increase the capacity of communities to support the integration of immigrants in B.C." Yes, and collecting a cool $500,000 of taxpayers' lolly was the Richmond Multicultural Community Services group.

Yes, Mr. Sanghera just might have a vested interest in keeping those immigration numbers high, thus ensuring years of work "integrating" the poorly screened newcomers.

German Settlers in Canada & The State of Germany Today

REXDALE. November 20, 2014. Christian Klein, President of the Historical Society of Mecklenburg and Upper Canada, addressed the monthly meeting of the Alternaive Forum here tonight and stressed the huge role of German settlers in the early years of the Province of Ontario.

"In the 1820s, 60 per cent of the population of Ontario was German," the retired school teacher explained. The Germans arrived in Conestoga wagons in large numbers from Pennsylvania after the American Revolution, One of the key figures in early Toronto was William Moll Berczy, a German painter and builder from Swabia. He led settlers into Markham Township and it soon thrived with German farms.

He and his sturdy German followers were commissioned to hack what is now Yong Street out of the bush. He was the first to build a bridge over the Don River and a grist mill and sawmill for what was then called "York." Berczy was also a gifted artist and an architect who designed most of Toronto's first public buildinigs and Montreal's first Christ Church Cathedral.

Turning to present-day Germany, Mr. Klein, who, as a young boy, was one of the 16-million Germans ethnically cleansed from Eastern Europe (in his case, Silesia) warned that, in present day "democratic" Germany, "if you question the 'holocaust' you can be fined or go to jail. Over 17,000 Germans have been punished for speaking their minds. In a widely circulated German government about the development of German 'democracy', we are told that 'everyone has the right to free speech,' but the German government violates that every day."

He recalled the deprived conditions in Germany right after the war, as a result of an ongoing Allied food blockage to break the civilian population. In 1946-47, he would walk several miles a day for "Hoover Handouts" -- relief organized the former U.S. President and humanitaian, Herbert Hoover, and consisting of food, including chocolate.

Mr. Klein had just returned from an extensive holiday in Germany, He found many Germans had imbibed propaganda and crippling guilt. He was told by an American tourist of a German who had come up to him in Germany and apologized to this complete stranger for World War II. "This guilt is the reason some Germans are ready to allow Third World immigrants to change their land."

Mr. Klein charged that some of Germany's leadership has been influenced by the nation destroying ideas of Richard Coudenhove Kalergi, a well connected Austrian, who, in the 1920s, was the architect of ideas for a "New World Order" and the European Union. His goal was to mix people together, through mass immigration so that, in the end, Germany and Europeans would disappear.

He concluded with some comments on his visit to the Italian-occupied South Tirol. "This was part of the mess made by the Versailles Treaty. "There, Andreas Hofer is a national hero. In 1809, he fought and crushed Napoleon's troops. But, the next year, he was betrayed, captured and executed in Mantua. He is a local hero." Mr. Klein, a musician, sang a few verses of the national anthem of Tirol, with the stirring lines, "the most wonderful place on earth is my homeland" (heimat).

FINALLY SOMEBODY DARES !

MAYOR REFUSES TO REMOVE PORK FROM SCHOOL CANTEEN MENU... EXPLAINS WHY

Muslim parents demanded the abolition of pork in all the school canteens of a Montreal suburb. The mayor of the Montreal suburb of Dorval, has refused, and the town clerk sent a note to all parents to explain why...

Let's Hear It from the Mayor:

“Muslims must understand that they have to adapt to Canada and Quebec, its customs, its traditions, its way of life, because that's where they chose to immigrate.

They must understand that they have to integrate and learn to live in Quebec.
They must understand that it is for them to change their lifestyle, not the Canadians who so generously welcomed them.

They must understand that Canadians are neither racist nor xenophobic, they accepted many immigrants before Muslims (whereas the reverse is not true, in that Muslim states do not accept non-Muslim immigrants).

That no more than other nations, Canadians are not willing to give up their identity, their culture.

And if Canada is a land of welcome, it's not the Mayor of Dorval who welcomes foreigners, but the Canadian-Quebecois people as a whole.

Finally, they must understand that in Canada (Quebec) with its Judeo-Christian roots, Christmas trees, churches and religious festivals, religion must remain in the private domain"

“For Muslims who disagree with secularism and do not feel comfortable in Canada, there are 57 beautiful Muslim countries in the world, most of them under-populated andready to receive them with open Halal arms in accordance with Shariah.

If you left your country for Canada, and not for other Muslim countries, it is because you have considered that life is better in Canada than elsewhere.

Ask yourself the question, just once, “Why is it better here in Canada than where you come from?”

“A canteen with pork is part of the answer."

A Balanced Immigration Policy for Canada

http://www.theprovince.com/news/Rich...tml?rel=838332

Below I have listed several crucial points to ponder in respect to Canada's mass immigration policies. I suspect Eron Main (the man behind the camera in the video posted to the above article) did not give any of these points much thought prior to approaching the protesters from Immigration Watch Canada.

For many, the question "Too Many People In Canada?" is absurd. Surely Canada is a huge land of wide-open, seemingly endless spaces with abundant resources and ample room for many more people. This is what most who reflect on Canada’s population size think instinctively, and is what informs arguments and policies favouring ever more people. But it is a viewpoint based largely on myths and wishful thinking rather than on rational, scientific observations and assessments.

Canada’s population is currently over 35 million and increasing fast. In fact, with growth at 1.2% per year, it is one of the fastest growing developed countries in the world. There are compelling reasons why this relentless increase in numbers should be critically examined, then reduced and, ultimately, reversed until population size is consistent with Canada achieving an economically and environmentally sustainable future. To ignore facts and the associated imperatives of mushrooming growth is to sleepwalk into a future of almost certain and dire crises.

Non-stop growth is a fantasy

The above is neither alarmist nor exaggerated. Logically, infinite growth in a finite space is impossible. What is more, in the case of Canada, land suitable for human habitation is far less abundant than the country’s large size would suggest. It is no accident that pioneers settled alongCanada’s southernmost rivers. This was – and is – where the best farmland is found, further north being ill-suited, and in large part impossible, for farming due to poor soil and weather conditions. Before the advent of refrigerated trucks, fueled by plentiful energy, food had to be grown close to settled areas. Cities were built on southern, arable lands, and they continue to be. This, coupled with Canada’s harsh landscape and at times brutal, unforgiving climate, is why from early history until now, 80% of Canadians live within 160 kms of the U.S. border

Because growth cannot continue indefinitely in a finite space or country, a continuously expanding Canadian population will eventually and inexorably face limits. These will first slow then halt further increases leading to decline. Limiting factors include renewable resources needed for the maintenance of human life, such as air, water, soil, forests, and fisheries, and the non-renewable resources on which our civilization depends. It is oil in particular, used to run agricultural machinery, to make fertilizers and pesticides, and to transport food from where grown to distant locations, that has allowed populations to continue to expand in such numbers. But globally, oil production will soon peak and then decline.

Carrying capacity

Calculating how many people Canada can support without doing irreparable damage to its environment (i.e. determining its carrying capacity) cannot be done simply by dividing the number of Canadians into total surface area. Such crude math leads to false conclusions since most of the land is highly unsuitable for human habitation. More realistically, one has to determine the capacity to accommodate in terms of the overall resources needed to feed, house, clothe, etc. a population, and then include the range of amenities required for a modern society to function.

Canada’s first, indigenous peoples were few in number, widely dispersed with most living in southern regions. Hunter-gatherers or small-scale farmers, they used simple, traditional methods to survive. Had larger numbers attempted to exist in more northerly regions, they would have found food sources to be insufficient. That 35 million Canadians now thrive is explained by technologies allowing them to benefit from easy to extract – but declining – coal, oil and gas resources. Clearly, the more people, the faster will be the depletion of these essential non-renewables.

Water

Canada is blessed with 7% of the world’s fresh surface water. Again however, statistics mislead since most people live in the south whereas over 60% of Canada’s water flows north to the high Arctic. Water remains plentiful, and yet in expanding southern metropolitan regions it is in ever-greater demand, and increasingly is polluted – both factors making it more costly to supply.

Groundwater

In 2009, the Council of Canadian Academies warned that groundwater, then serving 10+ million people, was threatened by misuse and contamination caused by “rampant” urbanization, industrialization and intense agriculture. It listed 28,000 contaminated sites. Since 2009, many more have been added and, since groundwater moves only slowly through porous rock, the impact of contamination takes decades to be revealed. Since 2009 its harm has surely increased by the arrival of almost two million more “contaminators” into Canada’s urban centres!

The Great Lakes

The largest fresh water system on earth with 20% of the world’s surface water, the Great Lakes region is home to 40+ million North Americans. Experts warn that despite their impressive size, the Great Lakes Basin ecosystem is experiencing serious and worsening degradation from urbanization, climate change and invasive species. Elevated levels of pathogens and harmful pollutants, an increase in untreated sewage, higher water temperatures and levels of oxygen-poor conditions, plus water-borne disease outbreaks – all linked to population increases – have led to concerns over water quality threatening fisheries, recreational use and drinking water safety.

Rivers

Canada’s many rivers are important sources of fresh water. However, every major river has some measure of control to ensure a constant supply of water and/or hydropower while providing flood control and recreational opportunities. Yet, damming rivers often destroys wildlifehabitat and fish spawning grounds. Worse still, Alberta’s super-sized oil sands operations use massive quantities of Athabasca River water, 90% of which is not recycled, ending in tailing ponds of harmful pollutants.

Water for export?

Abundant though Canada’s water resources clearly are, they are already heavily exploited. What is more, the negative impact of climate change plus still rapidly increasing population growth south of the border have resulted in mounting pressures for what could be significant volumes of water being exported in future to a water-parched USA.

Agricultural lands

Surprisingly little of Canada’s land area—about 7%—is suitable for agriculture and only 0.5% classified as “class 1” with no significant limitations to farming. Despite this, governments have permitted large tracts of these most fertile lands to be used to meet urban demands, resulting in the loss of a precious, irreplaceable agricultural asset. This is especially grave in southern Ontario where over half of Canada’s “class 1″ agricultural land is located. As erosion, salination, and desertification are taking significant amounts of the world’s best agricultural land out of production, Canada is permitting large tracts of its most fertile land to be urbanized or paved over to meet the demands of ever more people.
Future generations, in Canada and beyond, will certainly have to contend with more expensive non-renewable energy sources affecting both the cost of food and costs of transporting it. With much of the world’s farmland already under severe stress, and with large parts of the world increasingly affected by water scarcity and/or drought, any expectation that imports will compensate for the loss of Canada’s own agricultural productivity seems unrealistic.

Biodiversity

Sadly, negative environmental trends in Canada replicate those in most other parts of the world with flora and fauna disappearing as human habitation expands. The Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada warns that 645 wildlife species are now endangered. Of 428 bird species that breed in Canada, 60 face extinction. Some have already been reduced by 80% or more. Some species, for example the Peary caribou, numbering 50,000 in the 1960s, down to 8,000 now, are seriously at risk. Even the future of the iconic Canadian polar bear is uncertain, thanks to man-made climate change and the associated retreat of polar ice. All efforts to mitigate species loss are compromised by relentless human population increases.

Witness the Prairies

Agricultural development in the 1800s and 1900s devastated the Prairies’ natural grassland habitat and associated biodiversity. Over 90% of tall grasses, 80% of the fescue, and 67% of the mixed grass prairie habitat were lost to farming. Approximately 70% of wetlands, critical for wildfowl and migratory birds, were also lost. Bison (“buffalo”) herds, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, were killed. What remains of natural prairie today are relatively small, protected islands surrounded by non-native vegetation, thus reducing available habitat and impeding the movement of wildlife in search of food and shelter. Almost half of Prairie organic matter and natural nutrient content has been eroded, oxidized or otherwise displaced by farming. Resulting soil degradation has led farmers to increase fertilizer use. This in turn has resulted in further soil quality loss, water contamination and greenhouse gas emissions.

Energy

Given its northern location, Canada is one of the highest per capita energy users in the world: 8262 kilos of oil equivalent per person per year (vs. 7768 = USA; 1433 = China; 289 = Ethiopia). This use produces 20+ tons of greenhouse gasses per capita annually. Long winters and an exceptionally cold climate lead to high housing, clothing and utility costs, while Canada’s size and the great distances between its cities result in correspondingly high transport costs. Expenditures all increase, often exponentially, the further north one goes. Even as ways have been found to reduce per capita energy consumption, aggregate benefits have been cancelled by rising population levels.

Too Many People in Canada?

Compelling evidence has led demographers, and those most focused on environmental degradation and non-renewable resource depletion, to judge that Canada, while arguably not overpopulated, is rapidly approaching the point of being technically in “overshoot” in terms of sustainable self-sufficiently. But as yet this is not a widely held view. Indeed all levels of government, strongly encouraged by the economic sector, have consistently pursued growth-promoting policies with varying degrees of urgency. Economic growth – whose negative consequences are never seriously debated, questioned or assessed – is widely seen as a “good thing”, essential to Canadians’ well-being, and with population growth held to be a key economic driver. The “fetish” of pursuing endless economic growth, and the associated folly of following an economic model predicated on continuous population increases, has long been accepted conventional wisdom in Canada.

Immigration, the key

This explains why, with Canada’s birthrate from the early 1970s at or below the replacement level of 2.1 children per woman, all governments have supported policies designed to encourage population growth, mainly by immigration. In the past 25 years, immigration targets have been about 250,000 per year (reaching a high of 281,000 in 2010), with the total number of arrivals added to by refugees (few), temporary foreign workers (182,000 in 2010), and short-stay international students. While the latter two usually return to their homelands, when in Canada they too have a “foot-print”, a negative environmental impact. Federal and Provincial governments, notably Quebec’s, have long encouraged – albeit with limited success – population growth directly or indirectly through various financial incentives, e.g. the “baby bonus”; heavily subsidized daycare; income tax breaks; tax exemptions for baby supplies; enticements to rich, prospective immigrants; etc. Despite a fertility rate of 1.6 children per female, Canada’s current growth rate is 1.2% annually, an aggregate increase due solely to immigration. If continued, this rate would result in a doubling of population in 58 years. Absent current immigration rates, Canada’s population would have stabilized at well below 30 million people.

Charting a course for a healthy, prosperous, sustainable future

At some point common sense or the laws of nature must lead to a halt in endless population growth. Determining factors could be many, from depleted or insufficient non-renewable resources, especially energy; to the inability to grow food supplies; to amenable space considerations; to climate change; to dangerous and/or unacceptably high levels of environmental degradation of Canada’s relatively small corner of the Earth’s biosphere. Or, it could simply come from growing public realization that population numbers do matter, and that more is neither necessary nor better in order to maintain a humane and acceptably high quality of life for all Canadians.

The Future

Canada should seek to become a model sustainable society in an environmentally stressed, increasingly resource-strapped, patently overpopulated world. To do so, it must stabilize its own numbers and encourage other countries to do likewise. Rather than driving population growth through financial inducements and immigration, Canada should abandon the former, encourage smaller families and adopt a balanced migration policy, accepting only as many people into the country as the number who leave. Only by pursuing these objectives willCanada achieve the goal of a sustainable future for generations to come.

Vancouver being transformed by new wave of brash, rich Asians looking for safe place to ‘park their cash

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/12...rk-their-cash/

"New councillor Alexa Loo declared that while she embraces “inclusivity,” the Chinese-only signs in Richmond are, in her view, “ridiculous.”

There are already 19,100 students from China enrolled in B.C. universities, more than the number of foreign students from the United States, Korea, Japan and India combined, according to provincial government statistics.

The majority of foreign university students attending UBC are from China. “It really is a big worry that they’re not going to be fully integrated and they’re going to be separate,” UBC Alma Mater Society vice-president Anne Kessler told the CBC, reacting to concerns around the new[ exclusive to foreign students, no Canadians allowed] Vantage College.

But the most direct and widely felt impact is related to the local real estate market. Vancouver has the world’s second-highest housing prices relative to local incomes, trailing only Hong Kong, according to annual surveys conducted by Demographia, a U.S.-based consultancy.

Vancouver is now an important “hedge city,” he[Andy Yan of Bing Thom Architects] says, where investment risk is low, and where capital can arrive safely and be withdrawn quickly.

"It’s a touchy subject, one most policy-shapers would rather avoid for fear of being called insensitive. With its position on the Pacific Rim, B.C. has long depended on Asian investment and immigration. Chinese money brings numerous benefits, supporting local businesses and helping create employment," comments the National Post (December 13, 2014) This statement outrageous nonsense. B.C. doesn't "depend" on Chinese investment, as if it's a province of paupers. Most Chinese "investment" merely fuels an already overheated real estate market and makes housing unaffordable for Canadians in Vancouver -- young Canadians hoping to buy a home driven out of their own city! As for depending on Asia for "immigration," there is no dependency. In these times of high unemployment there should be no immigration at all. And why would it be "insensitive" to discuss the demographic transformation of the second largest city in English Canada? Are Canadians, as usual, not allowed to have a say in immigration matters in the future make up of their own country, for fear of being howled down with hoots of "racist" by the deluded or self-serving politically correct? -- Paul Fromm

Puritanism, Theocracy, and Social Conservatism

Was Canada a theocratic state, scarcely different from the Ayatollah’s Iran, until 2005?

That does not sound like a description of the Canada of ten years ago as I remember it, nor can I think of anyone who was alive and living in Canada back then who does remember it that way. There are those, however, who appear to be suggesting that such was the case.

That was the year that Parliament, led by the Liberal government of Paul Martin, passed the Civil Marriage Act that made “marriages” available to same-sex couples across Canada. This had more or less been accomplished by the courts on a province-by-province basis in the year or two preceding the bill which standardized it. It was, of course, a controversial move - both on the part of the courts and Parliament – and remains so to this day. Many who opposed this change being made would like to see it reversed today. Progressives who supported the change have been known to describe the position of their opponents as theocratic.

Now think about that for a second. If it is theocratic to take the position that marriage is a union of a man and a woman, that it was wrong to re-define it otherwise, and that it ought to be changed back, then this means that our country was a theocracy for most of its history, up until about ten years ago. Similarly, if it is theocratic to say that abortion is murder and ought to be against the law, then our country was theocratic until 1988, especially prior to 1969.

Canada, of course, was not a theocracy prior to these changes, nor has she ever been a theocracy. A theocracy is a form of government in which a deity is the acknowledged head of state, the priests are the ruling class, and laws of religion are also the law of the land. Canada’s head of state is Queen Elizabeth II and neither we nor Great Britain have ever regarded her or her predecessors as a divine being in the way the Japanese used to think of their emperors or the Roman Empire her Caesars. Clergy may run for public office in Canada, have often done so and have often been successful, but nobody holds public office here by right of being a priest. The law of the land consists of the Constitution of Canada, the Common Law, and laws enacted by Parliament. Since we are not now and never have been a theocracy it is therefore not theocratic to oppose the sweeping changes to the traditional moral, social, and cultural order of Canada of the last half century and to seek to undo those changes.

Another accusation, similar to that of theocracy, that is frequently levelled at those who remain loyal to the old, traditional social, moral, and cultural norms is that of Puritanism. This charge often comes from the left wing of conservatism, from those who would consider themselves to be “progressive conservatives” and who, knowing a little bit about the history of English conservatism know that the Puritans were the radical enemies of the Tories or conservatives in the seventeenth century. What this accusation really means, therefore, is that those who oppose changes such as liberalized abortion laws and the redefinition of marriage and are therefore thought of and think of themselves as “social conservatives” are not true to conservative tradition and principles.

What this fails to take into proper consideration is the nature of the conflict between the Tories and the Puritans. It was hardly the case that the Puritans wanted a Christian society based upon the teachings of the Bible whereas the Tories were defending a secular order in which Church and State were kept rigorously separate. The Tories fought on behalf of European Christendom’s traditional alliance of throne and altar – or at least the modern English variation of this alliance that had come out of the English Reformation and the Elizabethan Settlement of the sixteenth century. That is about as far from secularism as you can get!

The English Reformation had begun with an Act of Parliament that declared the king to be the highest earthly authority over the Church in England which was, of course, the same thing as declaring that the Pope, the Bishop of Rome, had no authority over the English Church. This ultimately had the effect of breaking the communion between Canterbury and Rome, and the Church in England became the Church of England. The Elizabethan Settlement at the end of the sixteenth century was the official answer to both Roman Catholics who sought to put the English Church back under papal authority – and had briefly succeeded in the reign of Mary I – and strict Calvinists who wanted a more thorough Reformation that would strip the English Church of every last vestige of Catholicism. The Settlement declared mandatory attendance at the services of the Church of England, which Church was given a moderate Calvinist confession in the Thirty-Nine Articles, and which would conduct its services in the English vernacular, but which would retain its Catholic hierarchy and structure and as much of its rituals, ceremonies, and traditions as were consistent with its Protestant confession. The Calvinists who wished for a more thorough Reformation were the Puritans.

One thing the Church of England retained from the pre-Reformation tradition was the traditional Christian understanding that in the here and now we are living in exile from Paradise and will not be restored to Paradise until the Second Coming of Christ brings history to an end. In the here and now the taint of Original Sin will always be with us, and so, to meet human needs that arise out of Sin, God has appointed the civil government and the Church to two distinct and limited roles. To meet our need for protection from the violence of Sin in others, the civil government has been appointed to the task of passing and enforcing laws against evil acts like murder and theft. To meet our need for confession and forgiveness of Sin in ourselves, the Church has been appointed to proclaim in Word and Sacrament the forgiveness of God given to us in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In this traditional understanding it was recognized that these were limited roles and that neither of these institutions had either the ability or the responsibility to do what only Christ Himself will do at His Second Coming – restore Paradise.

The Puritans rejected this sensible and traditional way of looking at things. Their doctrine taught them to look upon the king and the priestly hierarchy of the Church as tyrants colluding together in the oppression of the people and to consider themselves to be God’s chosen, godly, few, called upon either to separate from the irredeemable corruption of Church and State or to wage war against it and establish the Kingdom of God on earth. They rejected the tradition of understanding and teaching the Scriptures that had developed from the Church Fathers to the Reformation as being a construction of the conspiracy between king and priest and substituted for it a demagogic method of interpreting the Scriptures in which every condemnation of the enemies of God was applied to the king and priest while every promise to God’s holy elect was applied to themselves.

This doctrine was a tree that bore much fruit, none of it good. The Puritans became politically seditious, going to war with the king and committing regicide in the 1640s, and later leading the republican revolution in the American colonies in the 1760s. They rejected the tradition of Christian liberty that had been built on the foundation laid by St. Paul in his epistles, in which Christians were free do whatever was not explicitly condemned as a sin in Scriptures and thus had liberty in matters of food and drink. It is place they recreated the ethical system of the Pharisees, placing excessive emphasis upon Sabbath keeping, and railing against games, dancing and other “amusements” which no Scripture condemns either explicitly or by general principle, while justifying, for the sake of the merchant trader class from whom they drew their numbers, the grasping rapacity which is both explicitly and repeatedly condemned in Scriptures. Hand-in-glove with the Puritans’ Pharisaism in morality went their Philistinism in art and culture. They objected strenuously to music and drama and when in power they closed the theatres, got rid of the art collection of King Charles I, and removed organs, tapestries, artwork, and everything of beauty that they thought detracted from their perverse ideal of “simplicity” in the churches.

In Of the Laws of Ecclesiastical Polity, the Elizabethan divine Richard Hooker defended the Church of England and the Elizabethan Settlement from Puritan attacks. Puritanism reduced to the idea that whatever in the tradition of Christendom could not be shown to be commanded by the Bible must be eradicated and forbidden. Hooker argued instead, for the principle that everything in the tradition of Christendom that could not be shown to be forbidden by the Bible, ought to be permitted to be retained. While the Puritans condemned the king and the priests as being “tyrants”, their own system had far less room for freedom. Hooker wisely saw that tradition and freedom stood and fell together, along with the civil and ecclesiastical order. This insight became the keystone of the Tory position in their fight against Puritanism.

The Tories fought on behalf of tradition and freedom and the civil and ecclesiastical order. The Puritans fought to overthrow the civil and ecclesiastical order and regarded tradition as the enemy of freedom. So where is the spirit of Puritanism to be found today? Among those who continue to affirm the traditional social and moral standards that until very recently were recognized as being those of our own culture and society, who were raised themselves under those standards and who wish for their own children and grandchildren to be raised under the same standards? Or among the progressives who rail against tradition as the enemy of liberty, who have turned the public schools into indoctrination centres to re-educate children in case they have been taught the traditional social and moral standards by their parents and churches, who try to use the human rights tribunals to silence all dissent from their revolution, and who have radically changed the nature of one of the most basic of social institutions from what it has been from time immemorial to make it conform to a rigid doctrine of egalitarianism?
