The 60-year-old Vukcevic, a thin, grey-haired man with bright blue eyes, was appointed in 2006 to head the team hunting fugitives for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). He was already well respected for his action against war criminals in Serbia.

Ratko Mladić extradited to Hague Tribunal

Source: B92

BELGRADE, THE HAGUE -- Serbia's authorities today extradited former military leader of Serbs in Bosnia Ratko Mladić to the war crimes court in The Hague.

This was confirmed by Justice Minister Snežana Malović.

Mladić was arrested last week in the north of the country after spending 16 years on the run.

The Hague Tribunal charged him with genocide and war crimes committed during the 1992-95 war in Bosnia.

The 69-year-old retired Bosnian Serb Army (VRS) general was taken from his detention at Belgrade's Special Court at around 17:00 CET on Tuesday, and transported to the Belgrade airport.

The area around the court and the highway route were secured by a large number of armed policemen and their vehicles.

The tribunal confirmed that Mladić arrived late on Tuesday and is now being held at its detention unit.

Mladić will appear before the Hague court within 48 hours of his extradition to enter his plea on the indictment.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Special Court rejected the appeal filed by Ratko Mladić, aimed at preventing his extradition to the Hague Tribunal.

A lawyer representing Mladić argued in the appeal that his client was not medically fit to stand trial.

Also earlier today, Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekarić explained that if a three-member appeals chamber dismissed the appeal, the extradition ruling would become final and would be sent to the justice minister, who has the final say in the matter.

On Friday, the investigative judge at the Belgrade District Court's War Crimes Chamber ruled that all conditions had been fulfilled for Mladić's extradition.

This is the traitor whore Sezana Malovic, 'justice' minister of Serbia.

He was a child of the Tito generation meaning a jugo-nostalgic, heavily anti Serbian. He grew up in the most exclusive area of Belgrade called Dedinje, that's the high priced leafy suburb where all the big shot communists lived. He studied law like his father, his mother was a system bureaucrat. Typical story for such scum. I don't know if he has been to Israel, probably as he also thinks that anti-Semitism is a big problem which needs to be combated. He is definitely one of many of Washington's men in Serbia.

Mladić in Hague Tribunal's detention unit

Source: Tanjug

THE HAGUE -- Ratko Mladić was transferred to the Hague Tribunal's custody late on Tuesday, after Serbia's authorities extradited him to the court earlier in the day

The former military leader of Serbs in Bosnia was at large for almost 16 years, and was arrested in northern Serbia last week.

Mladić is due to appear before the judges for the first time on Friday and enter his plea on the genocide and war crimes indictment against him.

“Mladić has been admitted to the UN Detention Unit in The Hague,” said a statement issued by the Tribunal.

It adds that Mladić will be fully examined by the Detention Unit's medical staff upon his arrival.

The release says Mladić's initial appearance before the court will be announced in due course.

“The UN Detention Unit where Mladić is detained meets the highest international standards for the treatment of detainees. It is managed in a manner respecting the detainees' dignity and rights, and providing all the necessary conditions for the preparation of their defense,” the release informs.

Following a full medical examination by the Detention Unit's medical staff, Mladić's health will be continuously monitored and any treatment required will be provided, the Hague said.

Mladić was transferred to the Rotterdam airport, about 20 kilometers from The Hague in a Serbian government plane. He was taken over from there by representatives of the Dutch police, who transferred him by helicopter to the Tribunal's detention unit in Scheveningen.

I don't agree with everything here but it's worth reading.

Mladic, war crimes and the West: unasked questions
The response to the arrest of the former Bosnian Serb commander shows how some pine for the good v evil parable of their Balkan crusade

There has been much pious talk about how the arrest of the former Bosnian Serb commander Ratko Mladic on war-crimes charges will bring closure to many victims of the war in the former Yugoslavia. But ‘closure’ is the last thing the Western authorities want in relation to the Balkan conflicts of the 1990s. They want to keep the wounds open, keep the horror alive, in order to remind us all of a time when the West could pose as a force for Good against the Evil of the Serbs in the civil wars that wracked the former Yugoslav republics.

I'm putting this here as a reminder for the absolute contempt ZOG holds for it's own soldiers, not just War Heroes such as General Ratko Mladic.

Call for screening of Balkans troops
Thursday, Jun 02 2011

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ns-troops.html

Quote:
Pressure grew today for the Government to screen soldiers who served in Bosnia and Kosovo for cancer after the emergence of so-called Balkan War syndrome.

Former British Army engineer Kevin Rudland has claimed his medical condition and the deaths of six Italian soldiers may be linked to the use of depleted uranium in cannon shells fired during Nato air strikes.

The European Union has announced it will conduct an inquiry into possible health risks from the shells, which were fired from American planes.

And the Italian government began its own investigation after the deaths of six Italian soldiers and 30 cases of serious illnesses among others who served in Kosovo and Bosnia.

But the Ministry of Defence and the US Defence Department both said they were unaware of any link between depleted uranium and illnesses or death.
Quote:
A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: "We are unaware of anything that shows depleted uranium has caused any ill health or death of people who served in Kosovo or Bosnia.

"We will watch to see what comes of the other studies that the Royal Society is carrying out. It is a legitimate weapon to use. It's used against heavily armoured vehicles and it is a very important weapon."

He added that depleted uranium was not used by British soldiers, only American troops.

The Pentagon has been investigating the issue of depleted uranium since it was first used in weapons in combat in the Gulf.

Last year the UN sent a team of experts to Kosovo, where US aircraft used the weapons against Serb armoured vehicles during Nato air strikes.

Soil and water samples are still being tested with the results expected later this year, US Defence Department spokesman Kenneth Bacon said.

He said: "We have not found any link between illnesses and exposure to depleted uranium."

Seems as though Mladic was warned about the jews

From Ratko Mladic's War Notes

Quote:
Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1993: Russian Colonel Gennady Sorokin said during a meeting with Mladic that the Jews wanted to rule the world: "Because of the Jewish wife of President Boris Yeltsin, we could not prevent the sanctions against Serbia."

Mladic extradition insufficient for EU

June 1, 2011 – 11:17 am

EU Parliament Rapporteur for Kosovo Ulrike Lunacek said that extradition of Ratko Mladic to The Hague is insufficient for Serbia to join EU and that Serbia must do a whole lot more if it wants to join EU.

Serbia must show that it is ready to expand relations with an independent Kosovo,” Lunacek said.

Lunacek, a lesbian, said that Serbia must, not just recognize Kosovo, but also fulfill many more requirements in order to be a member of the EU.

Her comments were made to Vojvodina’s Dnevnik.

Dyke Ulrike Lunacek

Ha ha, this is great news as it will expose the ruling Democratic scum in Serbia for what they really are, pathetic liars, filling the people's heads with pro EU fantasies/lies.

Minister denies Mladić was treated at military clinic

Source: Beta

SVILAJNAC -- Defense Minister Dragan Šutanovac says Ratko Mladić did not receive medical treatment two years ago at Belgrade's the military clinic VMA.

"The Serbian Army and our security service have been 'covering' VMA for several years, therefore it was impossible to enter unobserved," said he.

Speaking on Thursday in the town of Svilajnac, central Serbia, the minister however noted that an investigation would be launched "in order to prove that no Hague indictee was treated at the VMA".

"I don't know why Mladić's lawyer choose to manipulate the public in this manner. He's denouncing the whole health-care system, including the military branch," asserted Šutanovac.

Lawyer Miloš Šaljić went public with claims that Ratko Mladić was treated for leukemia at the military clinic while he was a fugitive.

The minister challenged Šaljić to, say ho at the VMA helped Mladić - "if he wishes for the public to be informed".

"I really don't believe this story, but we will investigate everything," concluded Šutanovac.

Mladić postpones entering plea at Hague Tribunal

Source: B92, FoNet

THE HAGUE -- The trial of Ratko Mladić has started in the Hague Tribunal on Friday morning, but the proceedings were postponed later during the day, said reports

Mladić has decided to delay entering his plea and the new hearing is scheduled for July 4.

The judge has read an indictment against the former Bosnian Serb military commander.

Mladić was asked about his name, date and place of birth and he was informed about the basic procedure.

The court has determined that there are no obstacles to begin the initial hearing.

Mladić told the judges that he was "gravely ill", that he could not hear well and asked them to repeat some of the things that had been said. He added that he did not read the papers about his rights which had been delivered to him earlier.

When Judge Alphons Orie asked him whether he received a copy of the indictment in his language, Mladić said that he did receive the folders but that he had not read the files.

Mladić's court-appointed defense counsel Aleksandar Aleksić told the judges that he had informed his client about the indictment and that he was convinced that Mladić unerstood it.

Mladić said, however, that he did not want the judges to read a single letter of the indictment to him.

The judge said that the indictment, despite his wishes, would be read in accordance with the Hague Tribunal rules.

Hague Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz represented the prosecution at today’s hearing.

Brammertz was also present during former Republic of Srpska (RS) President Radovan Karadžić’s first appearance before the court.

Mladić was brought to a Hague Tribunal courtroom from a hospital in Scheveningen detention unit. His defense counsel told B92 Thursday that Mladić's condition was “neglected”. Hague Tribunal Spokeswoman Nerma Jelačić said, however, that the indictee was in the prison hospital as a part of a regular procedure.

Mladić is facing 11 counts of genocide, crimes against humanity and other war crimes in Bosnia-Herzegovina from 1992 until 1995.

Aleksić told B92 that this was the most voluminous case tried at the Hague Tribunal.

Tribunal moves Mladić to cell

Source: FoNet

BANJA LUKA -- Mladić family lawyer Miloš Šaljić has said that Ratko Mladić was transferred from a prison hospital to a cell.

He added that Mladić's condition had not changed.

Šaljić also announced that the family would visit Mladić next week. He said that he could not say who would be on Mladić's defense team.

The Mladić family lawyer confirmed that overdue pensions had been paid to Mladić.

Serb Radical Party (SRS) official Boris Aleksić has said that SRS leader Vojislav Šešelj will always help “all honorable Serbs”.

“Ratko Mladić is certainly one of the most honorable and important Serbs,” he told a press conference.

Aleksić pointed out, however, that Šešelj could not be Mladić’s official defense counsel bearing in mind that he himself was standing trial at the Hague Tribunal.

The SRS official has accused some Hague Tribunal prosecutors of being British and U.S. intelligence agents and said that attorney Aleksandar Aleksić, who is currently representing Mladić, is a “disgrace to the profession”.

UN court slaps indictment ban on Mladic defence team

The UN's Yugoslav war crimes court Friday ordered former Bosnian Serb army chief Ratko Mladic's defence not to hand out information in the indictment to the public or press, the court said.

"The defense shall not in any way, directly or indirectly, disclose to the public any of the material provided to it by the prosecution" it said in a court decision made public.

The prosecution made the request to judges on June 3 -- and it was a "request we perform on every case," Frederick Swinnen, special advisor to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia's (ICTY) prosecutor Serge Brammertz, told AFP.

Mladic, 69, who was arrested in Serbia last month and faces charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity before the court "submitted a request for assignment of a counsel" said ICTY spokeswoman Nerma Jelacic on Friday.

She declined however to give the lawyer's identity.

His court-appointed lawyer Aleksandar Aleksic assisted Mladic during his first appearance before the ICTY on June 3, three days after he was transferred from Belgrade to a UN prison in The Hague.
