Default Runes

Just curious to see if any of you worked with runes. Also, is there a difference between Odinism and Asatru? Waj44, what sect of christianity do you belong to?

Default Yes, the originals.

Yes, I've worked with the runes and I've always enjoyed them.

For some curious background notes, see Audrey's geocities website on how the hieroglyphs and runes are related:

http://www.geocities.com/futhark_run..._Alphabet.html

This is a fairly simple site but it's fairly solid information.

Is this true???

The Asatru I used to know had a strong representation in biker clubs and even in prisons. They were not PC. Maybe their headquarters say equivocal things, but rank & file Asatru was always at least eurocentric. If that's changed I'm sort of amazed. Their early (1985 or so) publications indicated bloodlines were real important. How can they change that without abolishing themselves?

Thank you. Good site. I use the elder futhark runes as well. Have you gotten any results from working with them?

I think that waj44 is a member of the Orthodox Church (he states so in alot of his posts). waj44 if I am incorrect in stating this here, please correct me :-)

Thank you. Does Wotansvolk have a website? Are most people here Odinists? Agnostic? Christian Identity?

Not necessarily.

Quite a few Asatru org's...particularly in Europe welcome shitskins and fags, but in America it often doesn't need to be said that its whites only, its an unwritten assumption.

Personally, I have no patience with people who want to dress up and play viking, and Hitler discussed these people at length as well. He put them in hard labor camps.

Playing dress up never appealed to me, be it wearing a linen tunic embroided with runes or an SS uniform, its about your beliefs and how you live them, not what you wear to try and stand out.

And yes, I am familiar with the Futhark runes. Everyone should learn them, at the very least you will have a decent code system and gain a deeper understanding of your past. Dont forget what Wotan had to go through to learn them, you have it easy!

Good post. I think as long as you stay "grounded" in our religion. Our people in the old times were very practical. I agree, we shouldn't flaunt our religion. I do think this religion finds us, not the other way around. Hanging upside down for nine days to learn knowledge, yes we do have it easy, we have to make sure we don't squander it.

Okay, listen up, folks. "Asatru" is an English version of the Swedish word "asatro," which means Asa Faith/Belief. Belief in the Asa gods. This is what the religion is called in Sweden and all of the North, and there is no other word for it, nothing like "Odinism." I think Odinism is just something that some Briton or American invented because asatro/asatru didn't sound that good in English, which is true.

The words stand for the same thing, not different things. Oh, I just remembered, we refer to it as Nordic mythology too.

99 percent of all Swedes, Norwegians and the like who wear Mjölner, the hammer of Tor, do it to show a racialist belief. Everyone knows that if you wear Mjölner, you're a racist. It is a banned symbol in many schools. (By contrast, the cross has never been banned as a racist symbol....)

Now, I don't know what kind of weirdos you have wearing Mjölner in the U.S. or Britain, but I suppose you'd have some of those "Wiccan" types stumbling upon the hammer when they are looking for cool symbols to expand their collection with. Nothing real about that, though. Nordic mythology is as pure a White religion as you can get, and it is what Tolkien based his mythology on. The orcs, why, they are just the giants: ugly, stupid creatures from the hot south who the gods battle constantly, until the day of Ragnarök.

Funnily, Loke leads the giants then. Loke lived among the gods as one of them, pretending to be a god, but this wicked creature was in fact a giant! When he has done one evil deed too many, more specifically made sure that Balder is killed, he is finally in a hot spot that his glib tongue can't save him from, as it has so many times in the past. He is chained to a rock with a serpent in a tree dripping its venom at his forehead day in and day out, until the rock breaks at the day of Ragnarök. Then, having thrown off all pretense long ago, he goes to lead the brutal giants that he despises against the gods.

What does that sound like, people?

No, this religion certainly isn't anything like that "Wiccan" stuff, and whatever some loonies use it for, it doesn't mean a thing. The vast majority of those who wear the symbols and sing the songs from the Ultima Thule albums are White and nationalist and proud of it. "Viking rock" we call the music; it did a great deal of good for the cause in the nineties and onward, helps give teenagers a spiritual anchor untouched by alien poison.
