Editor faces prison term for criticizing the Talmud

From Union of Councils of Jews of the Former Soviet Union:

Oddessa Newspaper Editor on Trial for Antisemitic Articles

August 14, 2008

The editor of an Odessa, Ukraine newspaper faces an August 14 trial for inciting hatred against Jews, according to an August 13, 2008 report by the web site Igor Volin-Danilov, editor of "Nashe Delo," faces a possible prison term for publishing an article entitled "Kill the Best of the Goys" that, according to the prosecutor, "uses falsified translations and interpretations of the Talmud" in order to present a picture of Judaism as "criminal and amoral" that "insults the Jewish people, its religion and traditions." The paper has published several antisemitic articles in the past. (End quote from Union of Councils of Jews of the Former Soviet Union).

HOFFMAN'S NOTE: The newspaper editor, Mr. Volin-Danilov, was apparently alluding to the teaching of one of the supreme gedolim of Judaism, Rabbi Shimon (Simon) ben Yohai: "Even the best of the gentiles should all be killed."

The genocidal Rabbi Yohai is highly revered in Orthodox Judaism and has a holiday dedicated to him on Judaism's religious calendar, Lag B'omer. His Israeli grave is an international pilgrimage site for Orthodox Judaics and Zionists. Legend has it that he is the father of the Zohar (Kabbalah).

Arresting someone for stating that Yohai advocated the extermination of the gentiles is like arresting someone for claiming Hitler wanted to exterminate Judaic people.

The reputation of rabbinic extermination advocates is protected. They are a special class with special immunities, enforced by show trials and dungeons.
